I was the first in the class, and I am sitting at the back. Beside me is Aria, my pet wolf, so at least I know no one will bug me. After the fire goes out, the teacher does roll call.
"Cecily?" She calls out, and I answer by raising my hand. I don't speak much.
I see a white feather on the ground and nervously pick it up, hoping no one noticed.
Aria growls as someone comes in late, her reddish fluffy hair standing up, her ears flat on her head, and her white belly and paws close to the ground.
"Shh, calm down." I whisper, and then she does something surprising. She nuzzles against the girl.
I wave my hand at her, indicating she should sit beside me. Aria has a gift. She only likes those with a pure soul and a good heart. So I'm pretty much the only one she trusts.

I look at Jenna, then at Aria, who is sniffing the meat suspiciously.
"Go ahead baby." I say quietly, and nod at the girl, Aria races forward and bites it gently off her hand.
"I love her so much." I say to the girl, then give a smile.
I only smile when I think of Aria, she's my only joy in life.

I look at the girl. "She's umm.." I can't very well say she's a mistwolf, a magical physic, with the ability to judge your soul.
"A timber wolf, yeah." I almost laughed when she talked about the insects, but held it in and tried to act serious.
"Oh I know all about that, I've made sure she has all her shots, and she's fine with mostly staying inside or in the netted pen for the animals." I took a deep breath, I never talked that much.
I stroked Aria affectionately, she was still my precious girl, despite what anyone thought.
