Who is Kira?

@Lawliet made and wrote this game, but I will be running it.

This is a strategy game, almost a puzzle. It involves the participation of several users, so I hope you join the fun. Each player is assigned a role, and users will investigate each other and try to figure out who is Kira.

Kira. This is the name the world has given to the person whom has been killing criminals around the world for months now by giving them heart attacks.

In truth, this person possesses a strange notebook that only he and one other person know of. This book allows him to kill anyone just by writing their name in while envisioning their face. Kira found this notebook, and began to use it to rid the world of evil. One other person had found a notebook as well; this person became known as the Second Kira, a supporter of Kira who helps him eliminate crime.

Some view him as a figure of justice, while others look at him as a murderer. Police have gathered from around the world to discuss the issue and have finally decided that murder is murder; they would track down Kira and have him executed.

You are a police, a detective, working on the Kira case. However, it is suspected that Kira himself, as well as the Second Kira that has more recently appeared, is among you. You must discover who is Kira and who is the Second Kira by talking with the other detectives - but if Kira believes you suspect him, you may end up dead as well.

Roles:

[1] Kira:

Kira is a detective on the Kira case, but his true intent is to divert suspicion. Kira does not want to be caught, as this will result in his execution. Though he normally kills criminals, he will kill a detective if he believes they suspect them. Kira will also play the role of a detective, but instead of trying to find out who Kira and the Second Kira are, he wants to erase suspicion. Kira does not know who the Second Kira is.

Every so often, Kira will be able to kill someone if he would like.

[1] Second Kira:
The Second Kira, who works on the Kira case as well, has the same powers as Kira. He helps him by killing criminals, but not detectives, and will try to divert suspicion from Kira. He also wants to avoid being caught. In addition, the Second Kira knows who Kira is. The Second Kira will be playing the role of a detective as well, but he wants to help Kira and not be caught.

The Second Kira cannot kill detectives, but may be killed.

[Unlimited] Detectives:
Detectives try to find out who Kira and the Second Kira are. This role actually applies for everyone, as everybody is a detective working on the case. All of the detectives are on a team working together on the case, and they have to talk to the other detectives and investigate to find out which one of them is Kira.

Detectives may be killed by Kira. Every so often, all detectives [excluding Kira and the Second Kira] will have a vote on who they believe is Kira and the Second Kira.

How the game works:

This game is all about strategy. You are free to develop any strategy you'd like, but communication is essential. Talk to other detectives about who they think is Kira, why they think somebody may be Kira, or how they're investigating. Share information with other detectives, but be careful.

Ask if you're not sure if what you're doing is acceptable!

Here is how the game will unfold.

Detectives will be able to vote on who they think is Kira, as explained above. There will be a separate vote for both Kira and the Second Kira. When all the votes are unanimous - meaning that everyone knows who Kira is - the game is over with Kira losing.

After each vote, Kira will be able to kill someone. However, with each person he kills, the suspicion is narrowed. If Kira is not unanimously voted for after ten votes, then he wins.

Some things are subject to change, depending on the number of players.

This is just a game; please don't take it too seriously.

This is not a gore-blood-killing game. It's a detective game. Thus, ensure that you are keeping it okay for Egg Cave.

Investigating and other in-game communication should be done through PM or another form of private messaging. However, keep in mind that your conversations may not remain private - someone you just talked to could go to another person and tell them something suspicious you said.

Please refrain from revealing any confidential information about other detectives. If someone suspects another of being Kira, don't tell the suspect, "Hey, _____ suspects you!" [Unless, of course, they have agreed to it.] If you are unsure if something is okay, feel free to ask.

Please do not reveal or hint at your role to anyone playing the game, or where a player may be able to access the information. In addition, do not request this information of anyone.

You may tell another user who you voted for, but please do not ask anyone to reveal this information to you.

All detectives must vote each time for this to work.

It's definitely not a roleplay, though I suppose it could fit in Forum Games. However, it's also kind of a puzzle or contest and involves quite a bit of chat so I placed it here.

In addition, it may fit in Entertainment due to the fact that it's inspired by an anime.

It could go in multiple sections, but I thought this one would be best. You're free to move this thread as you see fit.
