Okay, so is it just me or does this make people mad?I go through peoples profiles just looking at them and out of no where it'll say, "Ask for ______ and I block you. No chances!" Or...something like that. I mean, seriously? And then the next paragraph they'll say, "I'm a very nice person and I love friends, etc, etc." Doesn't that contradict itself? XDAnyways! I also heard from my sister that Eggcavern.net promotes this kind of thinking and says you SHOULD block people if they ask for something that is NUFT. (Though I didn't see this myself.)I just think blocking people, even though they're just asking a small question, over something that doesn't happen that often makes Eggcave seem like a mean place.Anyone agree?Sorry, mods, if ranting/this topic is not allowed! ^^'''

@kurochi-akuma I so know what you mean! It seriously bugs me and hurts my feelings! I mean I know it is annoying when someone asks for a critter over and over, but there's something called writing NUFT, please don't ask or something like that!
twilight_raptor • 13 November 2012 at 6:10 PM
@kurochi-akuma xD contradiction? totally. And yes, I don't see what angers users when they are asked if their creatures are uft. Guess it could get annoying when many such comment turn up on a cove with a lot of desired creatures. But I think simply stating that none are uft should be enough. No need for threats of blocking xP
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 6:11 PM
@cutiepie101Exactly! Blocking just seems like you're banishing the person from your profile forever and that can hurt a lot of people's feelings. Especially when they're just asking for a good haggle. You always have the option to say "No thank you." to them and 90% of the time people understand. 😊
hedwig68 • 13 November 2012 at 6:13 PM
@kurochi-akuma I won't say that I haven't had that on my profile before. I've even blocked people for asking but think about it. Imagine someone coming to your profile and asking for the creatures that you have stated are NFT, ones that you've worked hard for and then they ask for them. Then after you reject they just keep asking and asking, it gets pretty annoying after awhile and I've gotten tired of people asking. That's probably why most people put "Ask for them and be BLOCKED", because they are tired of being asked over and over for creatures that are special to them.
Orderedchaos • 13 November 2012 at 6:15 PM
You have to realize that people put that in their profiles after they have reached their limit of people asking them for creatures. Most people DON'T read profiles and will harass people who have creatures that they want. I've been here almost 3 years and my profile has always said that nothing is up for trade, yet people still ask me on a weekly basis.Believe me, when you get asked if something is up for trade for literally years and your profile states that nothing is up for trade, its gets old really, really fast. Many people don't want to have to deal with people who don't bother to check if something is up for trade before they ask for it.
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 6:17 PM
@twilight_raptorYes, exactly. No need to be all mean about it. XD@hedwig68In my previous post, THAT's where the 10% of people who do NOT understand common manners. (if you would call them that) Then, obviously, that's what the blocking button is for. XD I'M talking about just people who ask out of the blue cause they're curious. Do they deserved to be blocked? Especially if they are okay with you saying no thanks. Also, it doesn't happen that often. (At least not for me) that you need to put something big on your profile. Right? XD
twilight_raptor • 13 November 2012 at 6:19 PM
@orderedchaos @hedwig68 I think its usually people who are new to the site that don't check what the profile says or care to obey it. I mean most understand when it says nft 😋 Confirm?
chapus • 13 November 2012 at 6:20 PM
@kurochi-akuma I sort of agree with you, but it can sometimes get annoying. For some reason, people don't ask often for my creatures. 😋 Want I do is tell them it's NUFT, but if they don't stop THEN I could go and block them if neccesairy. But I've worked hard for many of my creatures and they are ABSOLUTELY NUFT, but even with tabs, statuses and profiles, it seems like people just want to test your patience. >-<
jennifer • 13 November 2012 at 6:20 PM
@kurochi-akuma I know exactly what you mean! I mean, hey! that's really offensive. I'm going to go to a corner and cry. Even I don't do that even if it drives me nuts. I CLEARLY say it on my profile. The Moxel is not mine. I be nice and explain who's it really is and the name isn't UFT either. I would really break his heart is I sold it.
Orderedchaos • 13 November 2012 at 6:21 PM
@twilight_raptor Nope, account age doesn't matter. I get asked by people who've been around for more than a year and should know better.
hedwig68 • 13 November 2012 at 6:21 PM
@kurochi-akumaIt might not happen to you but it happens to me on almost a weekly basis. As Orderchaos said, A lot of people don't read profiles.
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 6:22 PM
@orderedchaosI see where you're coming from and yes that would be very annoying. That's why the block button was invented and used for. Like I said to @hedwig68, I'm talking about people who just ask cause they want a haggle and maybe hope that you would like one to so you get creatures that each of you want. And MOST people obey the NUFT signs. You're a mod, so you're really popular. I could only imagine how many comments, requests, questions, etc you get on a daily basis and I understand why you would put that on your profile/block people.I'm talking about the general public though~ 😸
hedwig68 • 13 November 2012 at 6:26 PM
@kurochi-akuma"I'm talking about people who just ask cause they want a haggle and maybe hope that you would like one to so you get creatures that each of you want"If its stated NFT I seriously doubt that the user would want to haggle for a price. NFT means NFT in my mind not buts about it.
Orderedchaos • 13 November 2012 at 6:29 PM
@kurochi-akuma You see, most of what I'm talking about happened before I became a mod. It was actually worse before too, I got asked almost every other day. And not just by new people, but by people who have been around for a while. For some reason people pay a bit more attention to my profile now. 😋It's easy enough to tell a new person that its a good idea to read someone's profile before asking, most take the hint and follow. Its the older users that I had the most problems with. They didn't want to take no for an answer and many came back once a month to ask me for my creatures. Once the block feature became available they were the first people I used it on.
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 6:30 PM
@chapus2009Yes, that's what I mean. People constantly asking kinda are asking to be blocked, but people who just ask out of the blue don't deserve to be banned.@jenniferI know how you feel~ *hugz* And see, usually peeps understand, right?@hedwig68I realize that you've obviously had issues with people asking often, but I'm the type of person with a good enough offer you can sway me into trading anything in my cove. You're not that type of person and that's fine. Like I said before, THAT'S when you block people, if they bug you multiple times. NOT when they're just asking because they didn't read your profile or misread or whatever. People make mistakes. XD
hedwig68 • 13 November 2012 at 6:32 PM
@kurochi-akumaRead Orderedchaos's post above, I like how she put it into words. 😊
daikirai • 13 November 2012 at 6:32 PM
@kurochi-akuma Yeah I agree. I actually like it when someone asks for something XD Makes me feel like something in my cove is wanted. 😊 People say stuff like "can't you just read my profile? Clearly it says nothing is UFT! is it really that hard just to look?!?!"and what I always think is: is it really that hard for you to just say no? :IIf someone keeps asking over and over like they don't understand then it would be fine to get angry.I keep all my creatures UFT because if someone comes a long and is offering like a tine egg on a sherth that says NFT I would like them to ask instead of just asking someone else who's is UFT. I mean I would love to do that trade!
nkiay • 13 November 2012 at 6:38 PM
@kurochi-akuma Yeah I don't get it. I don't mind it really, I just say no. 😊 It bothers me more when they ask who is for trade, it says i on my profile. 😊 I still just point them to my profile.
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 6:39 PM
@orderedchaosLOL Yes. XD You and Hedwig68 win the argument of blocking peeps who bug you CONSTANTLY. And you explain it very well. But, I'm still fighting for people who only ask once because they misread or whatever. It's great to have a mods input on this subject though! So thanks for putting where you stand! 😊 I'm not disagreeing with either of you, just trying to understand the logic behind this and you helped with that~@daikiraiAh yes. See, that's exactly where I stand too. "It's not that hard to say no to someone who's only asked once." Like with orderedchaos and hedwig68, I do know there are people who bug. I'm not saying get rid of the block button, I'm saying why do we have to put in big bold letters, "NFT ASK AND YOU DIE!" XD It just makes people scared of you or something...lol
eclipse • 13 November 2012 at 6:59 PM
@kurochi-akuma They should double check before asking for anything. :/ I have my Onnies in my NFT list, it's stated on their creature profiles AND on my main profile, and people STILL ask for them. This is not acceptable for me. I'm talking about my main account here, by the way x]
alannah • 13 November 2012 at 7:00 PM
@kurochi-akuma It does make me a little mad. I understand that people will block users for asking repeatedly but I dislike when a user blocks you after asking just once, sometimes you forget to read a profile or miss the NUFT. When I first started and didn't know to read profiles, I was blocked by a user, that really hurt my feelings and I almost quit. People should be less block-happy and give someone a chance.
eclipse • 13 November 2012 at 7:02 PM
@alannah Most users have NFT explicitly stated in various places. 😋 Check their profile, the creature's profile, their lists, and their trades to see if a creature is UFT.
Orderedchaos • 13 November 2012 at 7:02 PM
@kurochi-akuma I'm glad to have helped a little. 😊 I see where you are coming from as well. And yeah, sometimes it can seem pretty harsh to someone who just misread the profile. I guess this is one of those things that everyone deals with differently.
alannah • 13 November 2012 at 7:06 PM
@eclipse I understand that, but when you are new you mostly likely don't. People should not block you after one time, they should give you a chance or explain it to you if you are a newbie. Also, some people don't put UFT creatures in the TC.
whispers • 13 November 2012 at 7:07 PM
I didn't used to do it. But when I had "No creatures are UFT -- don't ask" in my profile, then several people come and ask for my Tine; I'm not happy.Eventually, I got sick of it. And started to block people :/
kurochi-akuma • 13 November 2012 at 7:08 PM
@nkiayYup, yup, that's what I do. 😊@alannahExactly. That can be really hard for a new player who is just learning the ropes of the website. Which, as you said, can get them to quit. I have never been blocked by someone(Might've by posting this topic LOL), but I feel really bad for people who had to go through that with a mean/irritated user.@eclipseI'm sure they know that by now, they're just stating what their first hand experience was. Thanks for your input though. XD 😸@orderedchaosYes, it's a very diverse topic that many different people have views on and that's one of the reasons why I posted it. 😊
meta_knight_lover • 29 November 2012 at 10:37 AM
@orderedchaos@eclipse@alannah@hedwig68@whispers@nkiay@kurochi-akuma Did I forget anyone? LOLOkay, I realize this topic is very old, but I have found it and I want to clarify something my sister, Kuro, said in the first post. I did NOT say Eggcavern.net was promoting the blocking, I said it was kind of unbelievable they had posts there specifically telling people not to ask for NUFTs because "you will be blocked!" XDAnyway, I agree that if the user asks again after you say no, then block them. But couldn't you just ignore them too? Granted that wouldn't be the nicest thing to do, but the delete comments button is a very useful thing. 8D

@kurochi-akuma One girl blocked me 'cause i fed her feat and asked for feed back -.- If she doesn't want her feat to be feed she should wrote that down on her profile or on creatures profile not on some random creature -.-EDIT: And I wanted to say that i don't use block button. Even if i worte that on any creatures profile i never blocked anyone who asked.
mastermepp • 29 November 2012 at 10:57 AM
@kurochi-akuma I don't think if someone asks once that they should get blocked. Now if they repetedly ask and asks then KI think the person should block them.
