Sorry if I sound rude, but I don't think neither suggestions look like the new CSPs.
If you think they look alike, you should just send a ticket to them about it. There were several times when they forgot to credit the creators of the creatures in their Archives' profile, doesn't mean they just rip those people off, they just forgot about crediting them.

I know getting credits for creatures being made is important, but stay calm, because, they may or may not be based on your or Rage's suggestions - which, in my opinion, they aren't.

Still, keep calm though.

2) Neither Myobu or Moxley look anything close to the Bomnom. Only thing similar is the Myobu's colors and that doesn't count. I'm pretty sure some critters on this site have similar colors. A Fox type creature or your other is remotely close to a bear. The designs are very different, sorry. I love your Myobu suggestion though but still they aren't the same.

3) I love rage's suggestions but sad ta say the Crishorse and her's do not look remotely similar either, sorry :c

i'm sorry, but I can't say I really agree at all. The Crishorse doesn't look anything like wererages suggestion. Sure they're both horses, but I can't see much resemblance. Although the colors on your creature suggestion are the same as the bomnom the creature itself is entirety different. It's quite a stretch to think that's plagiarism.
I don't want to sound mean but, that's just what I think.

There's not a single thing about the Crishorse and the Bomnom that make them look like your or wererage's creature suggestions. Sure, the Myobu has the same colors as the Bomnom but they're entirely two different crittes.

There's no problem here.

Okay, this post doesn't want to be a fight or something like, but I want to say something, then I won't speak or fight anymore, because I know it would be useless.

I'm not saying that there is plagerism or that someone stolen suggestions. I'm saying that a lot of creatures have similarities that in my opinion aren't casual. For example, Neniel's Moxly may be a fox and the Bomnom a bear, but there are SIMILARITIES that can't be ignored. Conincidence? I don't think so.
Like the Cristhorse: a horse with Santa's dress. It's the Horstmas, but with changed colours and body position, that's all.

Then ... the Greem. In my opinion the Greem was also based on a suggestion of mine, the "neerg" (read at contrary way, green). A suggestion based on grass, that I did for March and that you can see here ( http://eggcavemag.webs.com/May Egg Cave Mag.pdf ) scrolling down the page. Here you will find the topic of the Neerg. Unluckly, I lost the image because the host site I posted it closed ... but it was saved on that EggCave mag I posted before, so I can show you it.
Then the Greem came out, in April. The design is a bit different, I know (My Neerg was more like a dragon) but these are similiarities as well, cause the names are similar and I suggested a creature based on grass. And then the Greem came out. Really, I'm very tired of this ...

Now scroll the page in the link. Saw the "Agapy", by Jupiter_hollow? Come one, it's the cobrart!

I'm not saying I want to be credited or something like that ... but at least they can write something like "it was inspired by" in the creature's archive page, just to show some respect to the work and to effort the user put in his or her suggestions.

Said that, I won't talk anymore. I'm sorry just to see this coming in the Christmas period too, but is important to listen us. This is an opinion of mine, you can agree or disagree ... but I spoke politely, and I think I said all.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any similarities between the new eggcave creatures and yours/wererage's. The only thing similar is color for Bomnom and Myobu, but you can't be mad about that, because it makes you seem like you're claiming colors.

The horstmas and crishorse have absolutely nothing alike. (But I do like the horstmas more xD)

@lemonade I'm sorry but I don't see any similarities, except for color, but those are just Christmas colors. (Also, your bear is mostly white.) And they are both bears, but look at Nenielsen other topic and you'll see that there are now nine bears.

And to wererage's last comment, I don't think they write "inspired by" because it wasn't inspired by your creature suggestions. The Agapy is the only suggestion I see similar to the made creature.

My point is, they do not have similarities and don't look alike.

I'm not going to go into plagiarism here, but I'd like to state that there are a lot of great user suggestions, that could easily be made, and I think EC team should take them into serious consideration.

I bet there are enough for a whole year worth of creatures.

i do see similarities but the designs aren't identical.

it would be nice though to see inspired by (insert username here) where the user suggestion is if your suggestions were the inspiration for the design, so you could at least get partial credit for your hard work.

The main thing I'm trying to do here is get opinions on this. I believe bringing this up to see what everyone thinks is important. If there really is plagerism, then people should know.

I know, I've been freaking out about the bomnom looking like my myobu for a while. (I know it's mostly the colors!) I sent in a ticket and Ian said he talked to the artist, and that they did not see my artwork. But this still bothers me. I want to know how many people are out there who might have copied artwork. I may not be one of them, but I'd like to know.

As for wererage's horstmas looking like the crishorse this is how I look at it: Two horses in a santa costume. It doesn't matter that one is brown and the other has colorful speckles, the Crishorse could have (at least loosely) been based off of the horstmas.

If I was trying to accomplish anything here, it would be similar to what @hybridrainbow said about creatures being inspired by (insert creature idea). You don't have to agree with me or anything, just please take the poll, which I will probably change more than once in the future (If I find anyone else who thinks their art has been copied). Thanks for the input everyone, but next time please just take the poll if you don't have a copied creature. X(

I think the Cobrart looks like it.
The color scheme is the same, albeit lacking blue and red. They're both Valentine creatures, mainly because of the heart-shaped head and the first stage in both suggestions are shaping a heart with their tails (though the Cobrart's first stage is shaping a heart upside down). The heart theme is exploited in both.

I didn't want to make that much of a deal, but I want to contribute.

Also, I do see similarities in the designs of the stated creatures above and the posted CSPs...

I just want to say one thing towards @lemonade and my bear.

If it's a user suggestion, like my pami was, you can't write "inspired by" unless the user who submitted the suggestion was looking at somebody else's suggestion. I know for myself that I never looked at your creature suggestion.

Wait wait wait I need to back up because I sounded kind of rude when I said that. First of all, let me apologize to Circus. I didn't mean that I thought that you had /copied/ mine, I just thought that they looked sort of /similar/. That's all. So all I want to say now is that sometimes the creature suggestions look similar but one person gets the credit, so some other people might feel bad about it, but I'm not trying to point fingers or start an argument (also, I don't really feel bad about it, I was just saying that they look similar ^^) so yeah 😊

Just because creatures share some similarities does not mean that the one is based off of the other. Especially with creatures created for various holidays most will incorporate various colors or themes associated with that holiday. Just because creatures share colors or holiday elements doesn't mean that someone copied or plagiarized someone else. It is possible for multiple people to independently come up with similarly themed ideas for holiday creatures.

Gotta be honest, not to be rude but none of them look similar to me, except for maybe color scheme wise D: Don't mean to be rude...but just trying to be reassuring to you that they are not plagiarizing your idea ^^



However I will say this. I looked through all of them, and the only one that looked similar was the Agapy to the Cobrart. That one to me seems to be to similar to be a coincidence. The others however just have slight similarities.

I would really like to find out more about the Cobrart/Agapy.

The Holli one though I am not to sure of. If there is plagiarizing there it is between egg cave users and not the staff because the Pami was a user suggestion. Do you by chance know where the picture of the Holli is? I'm kinda curious to see it 😱

Thank you. This is what I'm trying to get out of people: opinions. I know about the ticket, and the bomnom may not be based off my idea, but what about the four other creatures? And none of us will know for sure unless we talk to egg cave's digital artist(s) directly. I'm bringing this up to get people to debate about it, and if anything, maybe to suggest an "inspired by this user's idea" that could go in the archives. Aren't you people supposed to look through the suggestions anyway? If so, than you probably have all seen our artwork, and if not, than you should take a harder look at all the suggestions. My other topic goes into this second issue much more, but there are a lot of repeated, similar creatures. We have like 9 bears now! Anyway, thanks for the input! And don't forget to take the poll. 😉

Ill tell you something. You can find something in EVERY Creature that makes them similiar to others. Whether it be on which species its based, the description, the colors... You name it.
Heck, I made a lizard suggestion and people told me it was similiar to a Bunthoff! (This was before Slysals came out btw)

We have like what, 270 species now. It is kinda impossible to create something that doesnt look similiar to another in /any/ way, simply because most people dont have the best creativity possible ever. Impossible.

Yeah I know, but what if it's not only colors? What about colors, type, design, concept and event? Even eye color?
Sometimes the similarities are far-fetched, but sometimes there are a tad bit too many similarities. Yes, some topics, some creature suggestions may not have been seen or reviewed, but say popular ones that were definitely noticed.

I gotta agree, Eggcave has expanded a lot. However, that may be a problem when it comes to originality. I've no idea what there is to be done about that, though.

Eh, I don't really agree with you. I know egg cave is much bigger than it used to be, but there are lots of creatures they haven't done, just take a look at my creature suggestions. Also, not all creatures are similar. I mean, the yeep is one of a kind, apart from the peeturk. Egg cave has a population of very diverse creatures that aren't like any other. But there's also a lot of creatures that are similar, but like jupiter said, not similar enough to be plagiarized.

@jupiter_hollow if they really did copy the cobrarts from your idea (which I think they did) then they need to credit you, give you a cobrarts, and change the name to agapy (if you so desire) 😊

I've to agree with Elsie on this one!
There are so many ideas that have not yet been explored, animal species that haven't been exploited and ye gods, this is ridiculous, considering we can create and have created completely diverse creatures (that's why they're called creatures and not animals - they can be ANYTHING XD the angel and the aosidhe are humanoids, I'd like more of those; then there's the robotic creatures - who doesn't adore steampunk!? Thousands of unexplored territory here).

You can find a design in every single animal that you look at!
Why don't we have arachnids, large mammals, sea creatures ASIDE from fish-like types?

And yet Eggcave sticks on only one... Just the number of felines is dizzying Dx It's a nightmare for people who aren't a fan of dogs or cats...

Yes, well, creating something that you took from elsewhere and not giving credit can sort of... hurt feelings? It sounds ridiculous, but creativity is underrated.

Also, arachnids (spiders, I think?), allegator, large mammals like hipo, rhyno (though there are similar ones), bats? XD I'm not that familiar with the creatures to be honest .-.

I got an idea for a stingray though... 's nice.
