Liareen realized that she had fallen asleep and woke with a jolt, realizing that the cave was emptier than it should be. Torch and Feather were gone! Liareen had to do something. Eating a berry to keep up her energy, she rushed out of the cave, slithering at full speed towards the coast. "That's where they must be," she thought, squinting to fight the water and wind. "Maybe they went to help Bandit, Cory, and Dark-one? In the dark she ran into the Fangtharp, and only just swerved enough to avoid it. She couldn't follow the scent trails, because there weren't any, the water had washed them away.

The storm was worsening drastically, Bandit was sure of it. Keeping a good distance between her and the chimera, she followed it to a building downtown, where the flooding was the worst yet.

When the Chimera fell asleep, she used her sharp talons to cut the ropes. She wriggled free and grabbed Torch. She ran out of the cave but something stabbed into her back. The Chimera! "Don't run little girl. That's naughty." His voice pierced her ears and he cackled. "Go on. Try again. Let's see what happens." She didn't do anything.

" I'd rather die than stay with you human-bound disgraces of creatures!" She squirmed around but knew it was helpless.

"Fine." said the Chimera, his voice firm. " Your destiny has been chosen."

Dark-one followed bandit to the coast. She didn't care if her life was at risk, as long as the outcome was beautiful. She ran as fast as she could to the city's in the mud and in the pouring rain.

Dark-one walked in the city the water was above just above her paws. She looked over and noticed her and bandit got seperated, She started sniffing around for any scents, but the water had washed them out.
Dark-one started looking around for bandit, the water was slowly rasing I was an inch shorter than her ankle's.
"Bandit!" She shouted. "Where are you?" The rising water was making her worry for her lost friend.

Torch felt someone grab her. The chimera put torch back . Torch looked back at the chimera to see what he was about to do.

Bandit froze up when she heard Dark-one. It was faint, so she held her breath hoping the chimera didn't hear her friend. Long moments passed, but the chimera plodded along and entered the building through a broken door. Bandit sighed in relief.

Noting which building she would have to return to, Bandit turned and dashed through the watery streets in the direction of the call. The dark figure not far off looked like her friend, so she called out, "Dark-one?"

The Chimera lunged at Feather's neck. Her feathers stood on end in those few moments that the Chimera was in the air. She had to think fast. She rolled to the side and dodged his gigantic jaws. They were stuck in the flooring long enough for Feather to rake her claws against his back. She got close to his jaw and managed to cut her ropes. Then, she reached for Torch. Just when she was about to cut the ropes, the Chimera pounced on her.

Torch saw blood every where and could not stand it torch grew into her final stage and blew fire. She saw the chimera freeze long enough for her friend to attack.

Feather could see the blood, spilling out of her body, but she was too dazed to feel anything. Any moment, she would feel the excruciating pain, but Torch attacked. Feather reacted. She bit his neck and used her non-bloody and scarred talon to use her ropes to bind the Chimera so tightly, it couldn't move.

Dark-one heard her name being called it was faint, but she could still hear it. She looked around to see were the voice was coming from and noticed a faint purple dot in the rain, she started to trudge towards it and soon noticed that it was bandit. she than started to run towards bandit. "Bandit!" she shouted with relief. "Did you find were they're hiding the egg!?"

"Oh I am so glad you're here!" Bandit was happy to see her friend all right. "I did find the building! We're going to have to move quickly. The city is experiencing a lot of flooding, and it's getting worse faster than I can keep track of. Follow me."

Bandit trudged as fast as she could toward the building.

"alright." she said following bandit. the water was rising faster and the rain was getting heavier. the high water is going to cause a problem. dark-one thought to herself. "hey, get on my back." dark-one said.
"your small and the water is rising, it will slow you down faster than it will slow me down. so you can ride on my back, and you can tell me were to go."

"We're almost there; it's just around this corner." Bandit directed, then clambered on her friend's back. It was true the water was up to her belly now.

"Once we get in there, and hopefully find the egg, we're going to have to get out of there as fast as possible."

"I'm sorry guys, moving is a problem for me. I have broken bones, scars, gashes, everything. You guys go ahead." Feather said. She limped away from the hideout of the Chimera.

Dark-one lowered herself so her friend could get on her back. she started to run as fast as she could, the water was a few inches under her knees, making it harder to run. she turned around the corner, she noticed a building. "Is that it?" she asked, yelling over the rain, trudging towards the building.

"Yes." Bandit spoke above the sound of the rain hammering against buildings and the watery streets.

She leaped off when they were close. Bandit lead Dark-One to the door the chimera had entered the building through.

"It looks easy to enter. I don't think they expect trouble with the torrential rains." Bandit reasoned. "Let's head inside and find that egg!"

Bandit crept up to the door and nudged it open a crack to peer inside and saw nothing so far.

We haven't seen @placevalue for a while (so you could feed those creatures in your spare time. 😋). I think we were probably gonna finish up the plot we had going. But I don't see why you can't join. We could make a new thread with a new story arc if we finish this one and we want to keep going. Anyhow, it would probably be helpful for you to read page 9 and 10, maybe more if you don't follow what's happening, prior to making a post.

Dark-one saw the chimera walking down the hallway entering a room. she crawled closer till she heard someone whisper, she turned to face bandit. " I don't think that chimera is alone." She whispered.

She looked down the hall. The place wasn't a large one, so it would be easier to locate the egg. However, it would also prove more difficult to avoid trouble.

Dark-one smelt a faint scent of blood. The rain pounded against the building, the sound echoing.
Dark-one walked closer to the door. looking through the door she saw Feather and torch. they were in pretty bad shape, especially Feather. Dark-one stepped back a little and looked at bandit.
"they got Feather and torch," she said in a wisper. " and feather is in pretty bad shape."

"Do you see the chimeras? We might have to fight our way through this." Bandit inquired quietly. She was starting to feel the pressure of the situation. They had to hurry up. Dark-One was a good fighter, and despite her size, Bandit could hold her own.

She figured Dark-One might be able to take on a single chimera alone, so she whispered a suggestion, "If there's only one there, I can head down the hall and look for the egg and check for others that might need help."
