Hello everyone!I'm posting here today with some disappointing news. Egg Cavern will be shutting down permanently on March 8, which is one week from now. The reasons behind this cannot really be adequately explained aside from there being monetary problems and concern for what the future may hold for the website, but please know that this was not an easy decision by any means. I'm as bummed out about it as everyone else may be.Check out the latest blog post on Egg Cavern:http://www.eggcavern.net/news/103However! To make up for this, and so Egg Cavern goes out with a big bang, -every- single creature from the Egg Cavern profile will be given out over the course of this final week! Raffles, 1 EC auctions, Donation Center (for Travels), Adoption Center... plenty of ways to win something!Again, please check out eggcavern.net for more information regarding this stuff.(You need an Egg Cavern account to participate in Raffles.)As of this very moment, there are 8 Raffles up for everyone to start putting passes into! I will be adding many creatures into the Auction Listings for Egg Cave once this thread is posted, so no worries! And remember to keep your eyes peeled at the Adoption Center and Donations Center. ๐Feel free to ask any questions regarding this decision, as I'll try to answer them the best I can. If you're wondering about the what will happen to the Click Exchange and Creature Viewer... I'm not sure, honestly. It'll likely live on in some regard, but just not through Egg Cavern anymore.Again, sorry about all of this! Thank you so much for your support of Egg Cavern over these past few years. ๐-Meteoroid

@eggcavern It's closing??? *Sigh* Hope the Creature Viewer stays up one way or another, it's really useful to me, at least creatures are coming, good luck to everyone with the Xtravaganza!
thursdays_dove • 1 March 2014 at 6:17 PM
Aw man! So sorry to hear that Egg Cavern is closing. It was really useful for people like me whose eggies don't grow quickly any other way. :/
immortalraven • 1 March 2014 at 6:17 PM
Aww, :cLol, I really relied on the critter viewer ;-;
animegirlalways • 1 March 2014 at 6:20 PM
I'm sorry to hear that Egg Cavern will be closing. โน๏ธ I often used the Creature Viewer and occasionally the Cavedex.
iloveu2 • 1 March 2014 at 6:26 PM
I'm so sorry to hear that โน๏ธ Is there a way to save Cavedex somehow?
piucca • 1 March 2014 at 6:36 PM
@eggcavern Oh no :/This is very sad news indeed.
mastergemma • 1 March 2014 at 6:39 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONow i'm never going to immortalize my creatures in time T.TI really liked that website ._.
dragon_collector • 1 March 2014 at 6:54 PM
I'm so sad... I really liked everything, but it's gone forever? Is there a way to fix it?
spiritkoi • 1 March 2014 at 6:57 PM
Why!? ;-;
eggcavern • 1 March 2014 at 7:00 PM
Thank you for all the concern. ๐As I've stated before, I know everyone used the Click Exchange and Creature Viewer very much. That's why this is so hard on all of us...But we ARE negotiating ways to preserve them. So even if they go offline when the website does, it doesn't have to mean it's forever! It just means that Egg Cavern itself (i.e. news posts, articles, URL, etc.) is no longer going to work anymore.Hang in there, everyone. You all have been great for this website!
mastergemma • 1 March 2014 at 7:03 PM
@eggcavernSo there is a possibility that the Click Exchange/CaveDex/Creature Viewer may still be running afterwards?
eggcavern • 1 March 2014 at 7:10 PM
@mastergemma Precisely. ๐ I just do not wish to make guarantees, since, well, nothing is exactly guaranteed. When new details regarding their resurrection appear, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This is horrible. The things I wish stays most is the creature viewer. โค๏ธI'm excited for the raffles, though.
spirithawk • 1 March 2014 at 10:18 PM
Aw, that stinks. I use the creature viewer almost everyday and I look at the cavedex sometimes. ): I bid on like 15 creatures though.
arcadiafire • 1 March 2014 at 10:32 PM
I just hope we can still use the Click Exchange. That's the only way I can hatch and evolve my creatures that need clicks. Dx
squijum01 • 1 March 2014 at 10:57 PM
I heard a whisper of this news earlier and hoped it wasn't true. If it hadn't been for eggcavern, I would still be struggling with getting most of my egglings evolved and/or immortalized. Eggcavern was a great resource. I loved the creature viewer. Very handy when trying to figure out what travel would look best with egglings.I also loved the wishlists. A great visual way of showing what you wanted and what stage. And of course, I loved the click exchange. Once I discovered the click exchange and started seeing my critters evolve virtually overnight, the game changed for me. I became more involved and invested in my coves.I'm sorry to hear you have to shut down. If there's anything I can do to help keep your doors open I am willing to help.

This is super sad to me. D:

i can't believe it :c
thursdays_dove • 2 March 2014 at 12:13 AM
I just want to say (and this isn't meant to make anyone feel bad) that this is a huge deflation for me. I don't have a lot of time to do feedbacks like some people do, so I don't have any other way of hatching my creatures than with the click exchange. And I'm terrible at picturing what a travel will look like on a creature without actually seeing it. I will sorely miss these two features if/when they disappear completely. โน๏ธI agree with @squijum01, if there is anything I can do to help, I will try.
mythisea • 2 March 2014 at 12:25 AM
I'm also very saddened to hear this ): As has been said, the click exchange is basically my main way to evolve creatures. I can get views by posting elsewhere, but it's only on an EC-specific exchange that people actually click and feed. Hopefully someone else will take this up.
veroncio • 2 March 2014 at 12:36 AM
no more creature viewer? :c it's SUPER helpful :C what a shame
mastergemma • 2 March 2014 at 12:39 AM
@thursdays_doveI'm sure many of us would love to helpBut alas my coding skills are pretty average and I wouldn't be able to help until the end of the year because of school :/For all we know it may just be a temporary closure or they may give the site away to someone who has the time and is willing to keep it up to date
maineen • 2 March 2014 at 6:23 AM
Eggcavern helped so much though โน๏ธ Hopefully some aspects of the website such as the creature viewer and click exchange will still be available ๐
Deleted • 2 March 2014 at 6:32 AM
@eggcavern Ow, that's a really bad new ... many users depended on EggCavern, not only for the click exchange, but also for the creature and travel viewer ... what will be of these features? They still be avabile or they will disappear with the site as well? However ... I'm really sorry to hear that. You guys did your best in running the site (and that's amazing, I didn't even know how asite work or these coding things!) and you helped a lot, too! Hope that one day we will see EggCavern back! ๐I'm looking forward the raffle too! I have really few tickets, so I don't have so much hopes, but it will be fun to partecipate ... for the last time! I really wish you all best of luck with real life and ... well, once again, hope that this won't pe totally permanent. Who knows, maybe one day we will see EggCavern back from its ashes, like a phoenix. ๐

I'm actually speechless. D: ECN has been my number #1 go-to for all EC information (apart from info that's readily available directly from EC), and I'm so sorry and sad to hear that everything's coming to an end.Thank you /so much/ to all the ECN staff who have put their work into this lovely site. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that we really appreciate it. โค๏ธIf there's anything we (as users) can do to help (something like a Donate button for hosting costs?), I'm sure there are plenty of users that are more than willing to do that. ๐Good luck to everyone with the raffles and auctions! (Gah, why do I have to be low on EC /now/...) x3 It's a shame, because I have 32788 credits and nothing to use them on anymore. D:
Deleted • 2 March 2014 at 7:00 AM
I hope so that the useful factions of ECN come like implemented in EggCave itself. The Creature Viewer, Wishlist feature, the Click Exchange and CaveDex would be much more useful when embedded in EggCave itself. ๐Well, I bid farewell to the site eggcavern.net - It was an awesome site and it served its time.
jirachiwishmaker • 2 March 2014 at 7:22 AM
@eggcavernThe site that you created was awesome and I know that it took alot of effort, time, and energy to create a website that met the needs of many Eggcave players. Your efforts are a true blessing, thanks for creating a fun and awesome experience for everyone. Your dedication to such an amazing website are greatly recognized here. All of eggcave supports you in your decision I'm sure it wasn't easy to do. It's sad to see you go, but I do wish the best for you. With much Gratitude๐ Thank you for all that you've done and worked hard for. Good Luck in real life. Take Care!
