I`ve wanted to breed my creatures for a long time now, but you guys haven`t allowed it yet. Honk plus Harpis for example. What would that look like?

I just think we should be allowed to breed. :1

@leafdapple769 This topic has been brought up many times. c: However, there are some downsides to it:

1. It would make the population of the creature bigger, etc. you have two Onnies and they breed. That would just mess up the whole system and they wouldn't become very rare anymore.

2. The artists and developers may have to think up many, many different ways to breed a creature, there are about three hundred, so it would be more or less a problem if a new creature was released.

Also, some of them might be very creepy. o.O I'm not critisising, just pointing out the flaws in this idea.

That is true, I agree. But the artists don't have to make that many combinations. Some sites would do something like this:

Yeep+Oos= Yeep.

@dragon_collector That`s what I think. The artists would only have to make a few pictures, and then we could use them over and over again.

The artists don`t have to make a million pictures just for one activity. Besides, the artists already draw a number of new creatures each year, so would it make a difference?

@leafdapple769 This might make a HUGE project, but I can imagine it would make a lot of new, rare creatures. Like to old retired creatures making something new that is also unobtainable and even more desired.
I doubt it will be added, but it it were I wouldn't care if you had to pay just to breed. Like some rare object appearing in the shops, or something in the CC park which would require real money.

I'm all for this idea, but we'd be giving the artists here a heart attack.

@kisamari I understand how it would be stressful for the artists, but it WOULD be a great addition to Egg Cave. Thanks, for telling me what you thought! :V

@leafdapple769
No thanks.
This has been brought up at least 10 times since I've been registered here [more than two years ago]

The issue is that Nyms and Tines would be the first creatures to be bred. And then every single person would have a Nym in no time.
I don't /care/ how low of a possibly the breeding will succeed. There is a chance it WILL work. And people who have wasted hundreds of dollars will quit because of how unfair the system is.
EVERYONE WILL GET RARE CREATURES.

This is way worse than the issue with the December 2011 rereleases. Only 2 creatures were rereleased back then, but it caused a big uproar.
But with breeding, /every single creature will be, in a sense, rereleased/
There will be many users quitting, lost popularity, and less CC buyers.
Also, even if the only way to breed was through buying items in the CC shop, it's still a bad idea.
I am not approving this idea, ever. There are too many loopholes. Even if you try to fix them, they will exist, and there will be no way to cover them up.
Just give up on this idea.
There have been many topics about this before.

THIS WILL NOT BE IMPLEMENTED IN ANY WAY.

There is no way I`m giving up. Be more optimistic!

It`s not like you can tell the future. A lot of people may like this, and I know there will be a few people who think it is a bad idea, like you.

I don`t believe that breeding will ruin Egg Cave. I think that you just don`t like the idea of all people getting rare creatures. Breeding will make Egg Cave even MORE popular!

I do suggest that they don`t just sell it the CC shop, but another place so people that don`t pay can do it too.

This huge issue you brought up will not discourage me from achieving my goal!

I like the idea of breeding, actually.

I agree with @newlife, though. It wouldn't work.

Well, in a sense, it could work. But they would be taking a huge gamble. Most users would disagree, some would deem it unfair enough to quit. Not to mention that it would be throwing the rarity system that eggcave has built up to the wind.

Nothing would be rare anymore...lol. You could just borrow your friends tine and, after a bit of trial and error (assuming that there would be a probability of the breeding to work), you'd have a tine of your own.

I do suggest though that whatever we`re possibly going to use for breeding, be in more places than the CC shop.

Thanks for sharing with me, though I didn`t agree with you on some notes. 😸

@leafdapple769

If there wasn't a primary CC charge, then it would be even easier to get any creature.

Not sure if you were trying to ping me there or not..lol.

And I most certainly do not like the idea of all the people getting rare creatures, and trust me, I'm not alone. You have no idea how mad 90% of eggcave would be...lol

I can't tell the future, correct. But I can make reasonable assumption based on events that have already transpired. (The Christmas Re-Release fiasco)

Trust me, we don't want another one of those.

@despair I`m surprised you wouldn`t want everyone to have rare animals. Don`t you think that would just increase the popularity of Egg Cave?

I do agree with the CC shop thing. I wouldn`t want to have to pay.

People need to let go of the Christmas Re-Release thing. Just because that happened, doesn`t mean every thing is going to end up in disaster! >☚ī¸

Why are you surprised? I like the element of having a rare creature. It adds difficulty of trying to get a creature you love, and excitement when you finally get it. I don't think it would increase the popularity that much. It's pretty much the same as it is now, with rare creatures being a thing of the past.

Oh boy, now you don't even have to pay to get any creature at all.

Any time a creature is re-released, it's going to be a disaster. Some people worked hard and spent lots of money to get rare creatures, a re-release just says: "You spent tons of money, and now you can get me for practically free!"

@despair No no, no, that`s not what I mean! Breeding would create NEW rare creatures! Are you saying that after you get a completely rare creature, and another person breeds two animals, and it comes out like your rare creature?

I`ve got a solution to that problem too. More tools. For example, let`s say you breed a Tasma and an Biwo. They have different colors in their pelt right? Lets say you chose from those colors to create something unique and rare.

That way, no one will have your exact rare creature.

I totally agree with this idea 😊 And I also love your idea @leafdapple769 about choosing the colors to make even more rares 😊

@leafdapple769 What about the people who have worked SO HARD to get a creature they liked? :c It would be nice to get new critters, but then again the oldies who have been on for years will start to hate the newbies for having rarer creatures. Plus, CC would not be of much use anymore and Egg Cave might even be shut down because of this! ☚ī¸ It would not make Egg Cave more popular.

I am all for the idea of re-releasing creatures, but I am not all for this idea since it WILL mess up the eggcave economy. Everyone will be breeding Doovoos, Tines, Macbots, the list goes on. It doesn't matter if there is a tiny chance or CC cost. I know other users as well as myself will keep spending CC until we get a rare creature. I don't care if I have to spend $50 on getting a Nym because thats what they are worth anyways. No matter what, there will be too many rare creatures bred. Breeding will also be easier than trading so that will also hurt the economy because no one will try to trade for the original rare creatures.

@leafdapple769
there is more than just a few who do not like this

It won't make EggCave more popular as no one out of EggCave would know about it. Plus, new users would think that it is normal, getting a Nym or an Onny

The only way I can see some sort of a breeding happening would be like this:

Only cave creatures will be able to breed. You pay ____EC to let e.g. two Masers breed. Then, you may get a chance of getting a new breed of Maser (a recolour like the Shiny Pokemon)

This would remove the rare creatures from play as it's a cave common and allow everyone to participate.

@bluewolf Okay, if you guys are so sure it`s going to end in disaster, let`s just close the subject. @Ian -_-
