Who Can I Ping? ~ List

I'm going to state this again because people seem to be forgetting this.

Pings just for the sake of getting your topic on the Livepulse are spam and not allowed. Making a list of ping-friendly people and then making posts which is a just a list of pings from this list is still spam.

It doesn't matter if you're pinging ping-friendly people or not. If the only reason you are pinging people is get your topic on the Livepuse what you are doing is considered spam and against the rules. This is what the ping update is about, trying to minimize the amount of spam happening on the forums.

I didn't see that. .-. So why, with all due respect, is pinging not outlawed in the first place?

I created this topic not to abuse the new rule (like you stated: spam pinging to get your topic back on the Livepulse) but to just help people to still be pinged. With the new rule people are scared and afraid to ping anyone whether it's a new topic or old topic.

Please clarify. If you view that this topic should be removed go right ahead, as you probably know what's best and I don't.

@polaroid You can still ping someone in a conversation or to alert a friend to a trade or topic that you know they would be interested in. Pinging people as part of a post that actually adds to the topic at hand is ok. The problem is posts, that everyone has seen or been pinged on, that are just a list of pings and very little, or nothing, else. That is spam. Period. Very few forums actually allow that type of post. People have been abusing our leniency for a very long time now and we're finally saying "enough is enough, no more of this type of spam." It has essentially become the new "bump." That is what the update is about.

Just to clear this up guys, this forum will be no longer updated because it is un-needed. Orderedchaos has stated that you can ping freely but with a point, other pings will be considered bumps.
