cole sniffed around when he felt the ground shake a bit. he lifted his head quickly and started running around, trying to find the source of the shaking. it got bigger towards the city and he bounded towards it. the others followed quickly.

After a few more flights of stairs and defending themselves against Fire and Bug type Pokemon, Team Verdant finally reached a clearing. The ground was smooth, and rocks jutted out of the ground around the flat area in such a formation that it looked like an arena. Another cave entrance sat on the other side of the arena, like this was some sort of colosseum and another challenger was supposed to come out of there.

Suddenly, the ground started shaking again. Not like an earthquake, but more like some colossal Pokemon was stomping towards them. Lucille, hesitantly put her leaf blades up in challenge. As much as she hated hurting other Pokemon, she didn't want to die.

"GROOOOOOH..!" A giant roar echoed through the rocky arena, shaking the whole area with its intensity. Groudon, the legendary Continent Pokemon, stomped out of the other entrance and was staring furiously at the team.

Acacia put on her game face, and thorned vines sprouted out of the ground and rose up in challenge. Acacia could control plants at will, as could all grass types, so she decided to use them to her advantage. The sun was bright because of Groudon's Drought ability, so Hibiscus readied an extra-powerful SolarBeam. Team Verdant had the advantage, because they were all grass-types up against a ground-type.

Hibiscus fired the SolarBeam, but it diminished on contact with Groudon's tough scales. Groudon roared with such intensity that lava plumes erupted from the ground at her, singing the petals on her head. She jumped out of the way, urgently patting out the small embers on her head. Lucille jumped in front of Hibiscus and sliced Groudon across the face, this time puncturing its weakened hide and causing it to roar in pain.

Acacia took the opportunity to use Leach Seed on it, and small sprouts sprang up in the cracks of its earthy, rocky armor. The leaves pierced through its armor and weakened its defenses. In retaliation, Groudon used Slash on Acacia, attacking her with its colossal, sharpened claws and sending her flying across the arena. She hit the wall and slid down to the ground, landing face-first on the dirt. Hibiscus used Giga Drain on Groudon, sapping the energy from the cracks in his armor. The sprouts sucked energy out of Groudon, too, and gave it to Acacia. She sprang up, filled with energy, and used Moonblast on Groudon. It was weak, but it managed to get the energy to use Precipice blades on all three Pokemon. Iridescent pillars of rock, swirling with lava, jutted out of the ground and nearly impaled Lucille, but she luckily dodged it with nothing more that a scratch. Groudon then collapsed, and disappeared.

they all ran over to see if anyone was hurt. ty didnt like running around in a volcano. they came to the top, where they saw team verdant.

"I'm all right, my child..." Lucille said comfortingly. "We're all fine. I'm sorry for leaving you, it was inconsiderate of me." She looked genuinely guilty, even though she truly knew that they would be okay, she still felt bad for leaving them alone. Lucille had strong motherly instincts and she wanted to see if they were okay.

"But, dears, are YOU all right?" she said worriedly, rushing over to the team. "Oh, I'm glad you're fine, I was worri-" she was cut off by the sudden entrance of a Uxie, who floated in elegantly from the other entrance. Acacia put her hand on her hip.

"Who are YOU?" she demanded.

"I am Uxie, the true guardian of Fogbound Lake." he said, "That Groudon was only a decoy. I wanted to scare you away from here to protect the treasure. But now I know that you're worthy of seeing the lake." He turned around and went back into the tunnel. The team followed him hesitantly, but were driven by curiosity and awe.

The tunnel opened up into a gorgeous nighttime view of a huge lake. A huge glowing fountain was in the middle of the lake, beautifully spewing water. A cluster of Volbeat and Illumise were swarming around the fountain, their tails glowing and making the view even more beautiful.

"Wow..." Hibiscus stammered, "Are you guys seeing this? It's incredible!"

"Yes, I also have eyes." Acacia said sarcastically. The two giggled to eachother, but were eventually entranced with the lake's gorgeous scenery once again.

"Look closer." said Uxie. Everyone took a closer look at the fountain. Below the fountain was a real Time Gear. It pulsated with a mysterious turquoise glow, illuminating the whole lake with it's dazzling light. Everyone's pulse raced in the presence of it.

"A... Time Gear..?" Lucille said, barely able to speak from the awe-inspiring sensation that the gear emanated. "Wow..."

"What would happen... If something happened to the Time Gear? Would time simply stop?" Hibiscus pondered, looking at Uxie. Uxie nodded gravely.

"Yes, time would stop in the areas surrounding Fogbound Lake." he said quietly, "No wind would blow..."

"The water would hang stagnant in the air..."

"The sun would never rise."

"In a world like that... Well... I don't know what we would do." Uxie stared at the lake, unblinking. He seemed less calm than usual at the thought of it. He looked at the Volbeat and Illumise.

"If that happened, where would all the Pokemon who live here go?" Lucille asked, concerned.

"They would be frozen, too." Uxie replied, devoid of emotion.

"Indeed." Uxie said, snapping back to reality. "Furthermore... You must never tell anyone that you were here. It is my duty to protect the Time Gear, and I can't risk any secrets leaking out."

"You got it, sir!" Acacia said, grinning. She slicked back her hair and put her bandana back on her head. "We won't tell a soul. You can trust me!" Lucille and Hibiscus nodded.

"Yes, we certainly won't tell anyone of this place. As much as I hate keeping secrets, I'll do it for you." Lucille smiled gently at the Uxie. "I know it's been brief, but I'd hate to overstay our welcome... We should probably leave." Lucille turned towards the exit. "Are you guys ready to go, or would you like to stay a little while longer..? Either way is fine with us. We'll walk out with you."

Bruno woke up, yawning. Blake opened one of his eyes, then he opened both and stretched. Aurora was still fast asleep. Bruno tapped her on the head. she was still sleeping. he hated to do this, but he slapped her across the face, and she stood straight up, glaring at him.

Aurora:

"what is your problem?" she roared.

They had only been in a team for a day. They weren't getting along the best out of anyone.....

Bruno:

"sorry, i had to do it, because we have to get going. on the bright side, i did bring some berries...."

he pulled out a berry from the small, fabric bag he was carrying.

Aurora lightened up her attitude. she took the berry and nibbled on it. He rolled one to Blake, who was sitting around, bored. He noticed the berry and ate it in 2 bites.

Blake:

"come on guys, lets go!"

"We were actually considering exploring somewhere else, but if you don't want to, we can always do something different..." Lucille muttered.

"Yeah, look!" Hibiscus opened up the team's treasure map. It was old, heavily worn and had lots of writing on it. "It's a little hard to see, but do you see that desert over there? Supposedly, it's not all desert. There's supposed to be a secret cave in there! Should we go look for it?" She chimed in. Uxie was about to intervene, but was cut off as they left the lake.

They left the area of the tiny cave they slept in and started walking somewhere else. They were en exploration team, not a rescue team, but they would rescue someone if team infinity came across them. they ran to a cliff, looking for something interesting.

They looked at the bottom of the cliff.

Aurora saw the look on Bruno's face.

Aurora:

"done tell me you're gonna climb down there...."

Bruno turned around and grinned.

Bruno:

"nope."

Aurora let out a sigh of relief, til he walked cloer to tthe edge of the cliff.

Bruno:

"i'm gonna slide down!"

Aurora face pawed.

Blake:

"i'll race ya!"

Blake started sliding down the cliff, and Bruno was quick to follow. Aurora tried finding a safe way down and slowly cluimbed down the cliff with caution.

They saw a mansion, or at least Blake and Bruno. Aurora was busy focusing on not falling to her death, climbing down the cliff.

Bruno:

"look! there's a mansion in the distance! it looks abandon. lets go see if their's any food or something worth finding."

Blake:

"well, lets go!"

Aurora finally finished climbing down the cliff. She bounded after them.

Aurora;

"wait! it doesn't look like we should go there!"

Bruno yelled back.

Bruno:

"oh come on. it looks like it was built 300 years ago by the goth style. we'll just have to get a closer look to see if its abandon or not."

they kept running towards it. Bruno and Blake stopped in front of it. aurora caught up, panting. she tugged one of both of their legs.

Aurora:

"no! its not abandon! lets go!"

she tugged on Blake's back paw, and Bruno's left paw.

Aurora:

"come! on! i dont want to get eaten!"

Bruno:

"dude. calm down."

Remilia heard them and grinned. She flew out and above the mansion, first appearing as a swarm of bats. The bats morphed and turned into her, flapping her bat wings. Remilia looked at them and spoke in an eerie, evil manner.

Remilia:
"Did you call?"

Flandre did the same and appeared behind Remilia.

Flandre:
"Seems like we have guests. Hey hey! Let's PLAY!"

Flandre laughed insanely.

Aurora slowly backed off. Bruno and Blake felt Aurora's paws leave their hind legs.

Bruno and Blake had never seen vampire rapidashes and ponytas before, so they stood there, looking around at everything.

Bruno ate the rest of the berry.

Blake smelled a new, refreshing scent float towards them. He took in the scent peacefully and exhaled.

Aurora shifted her focus to Blake who seemed to smell something pleasant. Then she smelled it too. She squealed happily for a short amount of time and Bruno flicked his focus to her the moment she opened her muzzle. He was looking at her like she was crazy.

Bruno cocked his head to the side and put on a confused face.

Bruno:

"what was that?"

Aurora:

"don't you smell that absolutely wonderful smell?"

Bruno:

"no-"

The smell drifted to his nose and his tongue lolled out of his mouth.

Bruno:

"i'll race you there! last one there doesn't get any berries for dinner tonight!"

They all walked around, admiring the beautiful city lights. they smelled cookies and went over to the stand while the owner wasn't looking and took a few. They ran off, running into an alleyway just as loud as the city surrounding it. They noticed something moving in the alley, and slowly walked over to check it out. They noticed a Zorua looking around. it looked like it was on patrol or hiding from something.

Blake went over.

Blake:

"hey. who are you?"

She practically jumped.

Zorua:

"oh. i'm Cora. w-who are you guys?"

Blake opened his mouth to speak but Bruno pushed him to the side.

Bruno:

"i'm Bruno."

Aurora:

"i'm aurora."

blake:

"i'm blake."

Bruno thought she was kinda of cute. but he didnt show any signs of liking her, because he didnt want to make her feel awkward.
