Siku sat down, curling his ribbonlike, icy tail back and forth apprehensively. His Beartic-tooth necklace jangled as he sat, and his striking, blue eyes were out of focus and tired-looking, as he hadn't slept in almost four days. His eyes closed slowly, then jerked back awake to stare at nothing again. He looked like he needed rest more than anyone in the pack, yet he stayed steadfast and awake without complaint.

Nico quickly fell asleep by Zero, breathing softly and occasionally twitching. After all, Nico really wasn't anything more than a pup, despite how conniving and scheming he seemed to be.

I went over to Siku. "C'mon, I can go without sleep. I'll stay up for watch."

"I am fine. You are looking tired, too." Siku said, his icy breath visible in the air. "I know this area better than anyone else. So if something happens... I should be the one to keep an eye on it, da?"

He smiled at BC, the blue dangles on his head swaying back and forth.

"Don't worry."

Siku yawned deeply, stretching out his back and flicking his tail. He knew he needed to stay awake, but his body yearned for rest. He fought the urge, however,

I woke up again in the middle of the night. I'd slept for a couple of hours, which was plenty for me. I got up to check on Siku, and he looked pretty tired. "Would you like me to keep watch now?" I asked. "Otherwise, have some Chesto Berries. They'll keep you up."

"I'm all right. Chesto Berries sound nice, though." Siku said, trying to sound like he was okay. "I don't want to lessen your supply, however. Are you having enough for me to take one?"

Siku's english wasn't very good, and lack of sleep was making it worse. He had to think deeply about what to say next, but it helped him stay awake.

"Sure thing!" I smiled. I tossed a couple of them beside Siku. "And Siku, if you get too tired, wake me up, because being too tired and keeping watch equals trouble."

I went back to sleep after a while, oblivious to anything outside the den.

Snow fell delicately to the ground outside the den. Siku sat motionless, watching it unblinkingly with his exhausted eyes. It was dark out, but the pure white of the snow was still visible by the gentle gleam of the moonlight.

He remembered the night that he lost his younger brother, Massak, to the cold on a night just like this. Massak's soft, frozen face was still vivid in his mind, his gentle breathing clouding his memories like it was happening again.

He stared into the snow unblinkingly. A ring of ice surrounded his motionless body, sitting like a regal pharaoh's cat on a frigid throne. Snow piled up high around the ring, but the ice was low to the ground and shiny, creating a striking contrast to the surrounding area. Freezing air emanated from every fiber of his body, making it even colder than before.

He turned around suddenly with his eyes wide as dinner plates. The snow suddenly stopped as he peered over his shoulder, as if he was the one making it snow. His complexion softened as he realized who was behind him.

"привет, BC. Sorry for startling you, I just happen to like the cold." he said nonchalantly, wagging his tail at the sight of his good friend. "Are you finally up?"

"I natively speak Inuktitut and Russian. The clans around here speak both languages." he said, "And yes, the snow cleared up quickly... It's almost as if your presence made the sun come out, haha." He flicked his tail back and forth bemusingly.

Siku looked down at the ring of ice solemnly.

"They're probably still in the den." he said. He still had memories of Massak in the frozen tundra in his head, but tried to ignore them and be cheery around BC.

I grinned. "That's good, then. I'll go look for some food - well, herbivorous food - before Zero and Shrike wake up." I strode out of the den. "If they want to eat meat," I muttered, "they'll have to get it themselves."

Siku's ears raised at the mention of food. He hadn't eaten in a while.

"Do you mind if I tag along? You can scavenge for food, and I'll help hunt. Glaceon are carnivorous, after all." he said, standing up.

"Okay," I replied. After heading out a bit, I saw some edible Small Mushrooms and a large herd of Deerling and Sawsbuck grazing aboot ten metres away. "Go murder some if you like," I muttered. "Just the Sawsbuck though - or there won't be any more left next year."

Siku stood frozen in place for a second, a sudden chill sent down his spine at the mention of the word "murder." He considered whether or not he should hunt them down, or if he should starve another day. He didn't want to hurt anyone, but...

He slunk over to them, his body close to the ground as he stalked his prey; an old, weary Sawsbuck who looked like they had a lot of meat on their bones but would probably die soon anyway. His icy tail flicked back and forth in the bitter winter air.

@bot gonna stop here too

I tried not to look at Siku's progress as I gathered mushrooms. Maybe I was too harsh when I referred to hunting as "murder". I mean, that's how I looked at it, but I couldn't expect everyone to be a herbivore like I.

@548662 good idea.

--

A low growl emitted from deep in Siku's throat, warning the younger Deerling and Sawsbuck to get away. The snarl got louder and louder until it sounded like he had swallowed a chainsaw. Most of the herd fled away from the area, leaving only the targeted Sawsbuck frozen in place from fear. Siku's icy blue eyes met the Sawsbuck's as he stalked closer and closer to it.

Suddenly, he used Blizzard on it and the whole area was swarmed with billowing winds and falling snow. It was so cold that the Sawsbuck couldn't move even if it wanted to. He leapt through the icy wind and pounced on his prey.

Based on the noises I heard, it seemed that Siku was successful. I felt bad for the targeted Sawsbuck, but I was glad that the other Pokémon would get enough food. At least Siku didn't kill as much as Zero would. "I got the mushrooms!" I called. "Should we head back now?" Despite feeling nauseous, I went over to help Siku with the carcass.

Siku sat proudly next to his prize, wagging his tail at BC's return. He looked like a cat who had brought in something dead to it's owner.

"Xорошо. Well done." he said eagerly, with a nonchalant expression on his face. "Now we can all eat, da? I may need some help with bringing this back, though."

(im back! sorry i was gone for a couple of weeks.)

shrike woke up to the calls of a lonely swanna trying to keep itself and its chicks warm under a tree. he noticed zero was still out of energy and he felt kind of worried, til he noticed nico sleeping next to him. he smiled. nico looked adorable when he was sleeping. he followed siku and bc's scent.

zero finally started to wake up, slowly. he finally had some energy back. he noticed nico next to him, and since no one else was around, not even his brother, he put nico on his back, making sure he didnt wake nico up and slowly walked out of the den, unable to run with the amount of energy he finally had.

he knew he would be an easy target at this rate, but when he saw nico, bc and shrike, he walked a little faster, wanting to catch up.

shrike turned around at the sound of footsteps.

shrike:

"you have your energy back!"

zero:

"well, some of it, but i still cant ru-"

he smelled sawsbuck and saw it, going wide eyed. he hadnt eaten in about 3 days now!

zero:

"never mind that!"

zero bounded over to zero, having more energy than he usually had and carefully put nico on his back, then bounded over at his top speed and skidded in the snow next to siku. he wasnt even panting.

zero:

"hey, siku!"

he wondered if his happiness was contagious or if he was just failing at life. he hasnt been this outgoing for a while.
