I sighed. I felt like a nerd again, with my mushrooms. I sat down and started eating them, putting the rest into my Bag. No one else wanted to eat them anyway.

The three canines looked happy eating their meal. That was good. I pushed any self-pity into my subconscious mind and smiled.

shrike bounded after zero, coming to a stop and sighing when he knew what zero ran off for. but then, there was a strange noise, a loud one, off in the distance. the air seemed to stretch the noise....almost. shrike looked in all directions. but behind him, he saw something in the distance. it was a large white spot that seemed to be coming towards them. shrike squinted to see what it was.

zero's smile faded when he smelled another pokemon coming towards them. he looked in the same direction as shrike. when it got close enough, they were both wide eyed and stepping backwards. it was a giant, mutated looking beartic who's front side of its body was really buff. zero wouldnt usually run from an enemy, but this time he felt like he had to.

a sweat drop fell down zero's head. the once murderous zero was now prey waiting to die.

zero:

"...d-does it look h-hungry...?" he said, wih a worried expression on his face and his voice quivering.

shrike:

"i think you'd be correct. lets run."

shrike grabbed nico off his back by the skin on the back of nico's neck, making sure he didnt hurt the little sleepinbg zorua. zero was the first to dash, and shrike followed him, making a run for the difference between life and being eaten alive by this terrifying looking beartic. zero shivered just thinking about it. he yelled back.

zero:

"run guys!"

Huggable somehow went into a long slumber for a long period of time without realizing. It somehow miraculously survived through the time without dying. It has dug out of the snow piled on top of it and went exploring to see what has changed.
Huggable saw two Electrikes running away from something. It followed them and asked curiously smiling.
"May I ask what are you running away from?"

shrike looked back. the giant beartic had almost reached his friends. he hoped they'd run. he couldnt yell back or he would drop nico.

"im zero, and my brother is shrike. the zorua he's carrying is nico and the glaceon behind us is siku and the pikachu behind us is bc. yes i think our agility would make it easier to escape...but if we tried to reason with it, we would probably get killed."

Nico got up at Huggable's voice. His Zorua instincts screamed to hunt them as they were a Buneary, but since they seemed to be friendly he chose not to. He hopped off of Shrike's back and rolled his eyes at Huggable.

"Are you suggesting we talk our feelings out to a ravenous Beartic!?" he said. "Wow. What a great idea."

"Don't be rude." Siku snapped at Nico, "It might not be the safest plan, but I suppose we don't have to resort to violence. You can use your illusion ability to scare it off instead."

"Nico, if you don't even have an idea, stop criticizing other Pokémon's, eh?" I snarled. "I'M gonna try to talk to it. I'm probably fast enough to dodge its attacks if it decides to." I resolutely stomped towards the Beartic, annoyed that it had ruined our breakfast. It sat down, confused that something it had just been chasing was now approaching it.

That's good, I thought. At least it isn't a mindless zombie.

Nico rolled his eyes. "I've got a plan! Get out of the way, and I'll show you!" He dashed into a nearby shrub and emerged as an illusory Hydreigon. Siku stepped back for a second, thinking that it was real.

The illusion was weak and wavered slightly, like a hologram, but was accurate and very scary. He tried his best to imitate the withering howl of a Hydreigon to scare off the Beartic.

the beartic growled at bc, and in the corners of its 2 eyes it saw what looked like a hydreigon. it just stared for a moment.

Siku sat down to enjoy the show. He wasn't exactly fond of Nico, but this would certainly be entertaining. Nico looked back at him with his Hydreigon eyes for help.

"Roar louder." Siku said nonchalantly.

the beartic squinted. there was something about that hydreigon that didnt seem right. then it switched glaces with bc, growling.

zero knew that bc would end up getting killed. he skidded in the snow and started running back. even if it costed his own life, he was gonna save his friends.

Nico hissed as horribly as he could and used Dark Pulse on it, causing it to cringe and creating an opening for Siku to attack. Siku caught on to Nico's plan and jumped up in the air, using Icy Wind on it.

"May I help since I suggested this and it went terribly wrong?" Huggable asked them blaming it on itself since it was its fault. 'I screwed up again.' It though to itself sighing. "Do you know anything I can do to help?"

zero yelled back to huggable.

zero:

"tackle it or something!"

he kept charging towards the beartic. the impact of this charge might kill him. he threw in some electricity that coursed in and around himself, and ran even faster. he had never run this fast. he was just a glowing blur, and he felt like he was going the speed of a bullet. his eyes slowly turned to that glowing purple of rage, but with his speed and the electricity around him, it wasn't noticeable. in fact, the beartic was distracted by the hologram so he had a good chance of being successful. he knew that this might be the final few moments of his life. he charged at the beartic, ramming into it at full speed. there was a large ring shaped cloud of snow puffs and a huge gust of wind behind that cloud. some of the snow puffs stayed, so there was a cloud blocking the area that zero charged at the beartic.

shrike turned around and noticed this, skidding in the snow and running back.

shrike:

"zero!"

Huggable used Jump Kick at the Beartic's face.
"Is Zero okay?" It asked worried and concerned them. It kept using Jump Kick at the Beartic.

shrike skidded in the snow next to the area where everyone was having combat with the monolith of a mutated beartic. the thin cloud of snow puffs cleared and what was left was.....the beartic was dead, and........wait, was zero dead to?

shrike knew that his brother saved his life. he hoped it wasnt over.

Nico's illusion dissipated, leaving nothing but his original Zorua form out cold in the snow. He was fine, just exhausted from such an elaborate illusion. Siku ignored him and bounded over to Zero, lightly placing a paw on his chest to see if he was alive.

"His heart is still beating, and he's breathing." he observed, "But he seems to be injured. His rib seems to be fractured, from what I can tell."

shrike made sure. he had a slight smile when he figured out zero was alive. since zero was knd of thin, he could tell that siku was right. his rib cage was fractured.

shrike:

"you're right. when he wakes up, lets tell him to stay at the den. lets go back there. bvut someone needs to drag this sawsbuck there."

shrike started dragging zero back.
