Dewflight desperately clung to the fox's neck "how strong is this thing?!?!" she thought "oh starclan, help me!".

pinestream nodded tears streaming down her cheeks.

FoxScar helped the kits dig.

"What happened?" Hawkstorm asked, tail laying on Pinestream's flank.

Frostfur's eyes flew open. She had a terrible dream. A ginger kit and Leafshade were drowning in the river. She had to decide who to save. No one was with her, and she decided too late. They both ended up drowning, their desperate pleas for help silenced. She couldn't shake the feeling that it was an omen. StarClan meant business.

"Oh my...Hopefully you'll be fine...No, I know you will. You're safe with me." Hawkstorm nuzzled Pinestorm, hoping he was right.

Frostfur's fur stood on end. That kit was Pinestream! She had to talk to Ashstar. She intercepted him/her at the entrance to camp. "Wait! I just received an omen!"

Leafshade's fur stood on end when her sister ran towards her, fur standing out in a million directions, saying something about an omen, fear in her eyes.

pinestream sighed laying her head on hawkstorm's shoulder "I'm worried, even if I don't get hurt one of my kits might...." pinestream mumbled worriedly.

dewflight hung onto the fox before it flipped, dewflight smashing into the nearest tree, she gasped as everything faded to black..

relaxing pinestream answered "now, you know we can't just decide how many kits we have!" pineStream chuckled "i will love them all the same, when they get here, its not the amount we have, it would be a blessing to have any kits at all!" PineStream said smiling.

/I have to save Dewflight!/ I thought to myself. With last bits of strength I didn't know I had, I stuck out at the fox, raking my claws over it eye. The was weak by now, and my final blow made it give up. It scampered into the woods. I lay down on the ground, heaving for air. My wounds were still bleeding heavyly, but somehow, the pain felt more numb..

dewflight was in some sort of consciousness, all she could see was black but if she tried hard enough she could move, forcing all her strength she tried to move, but all she did was let out a soft hiss...


foxScar looked at the hole "good diggers, ye are, maybe I should ask for your help often" foxScar said purring "before we bury swanheart, ye have anything to say to 'em?"

PineStream chuckled "hide and seek!" "you count to 10 mouse-tails and I hide!" PineStream said playfully.

"Ten mouse tails! Ready or not, here I come!" Hawkstorm sniffed the air. He trailed this way and that, but the scent stopped at a puddle. Noticing wet paw prints, he followed it to a bush. He sniffed at it, but there was a faint scent of cat, so he figured it must have been used earlier. He walked off.

Hawkstorm shifted his ears. He could hear Pinestream chuckle. "You sly little fox!" He exclaimed. He galloped to the bush where he first thought she was and peeked inside. Sure enough, there she was. "Found you! My turn." He exclaimed.

I sighed. /Looks like im not getting out of camp this morning./ I turned to Leafshade, "Please pick another cat and lead the patrol for me." I meowed. I then nodded to Frostfur and headed to my den, motioning with my tail for Frostfur to follow.

{Snowkit}
I ran through my head for ideas of what to say, then thought of something. "Okay, Cloudkit, Sandkit, Mousekit, we'll all thank Swanheart for something she did. I'll start!" I meowed with an excited chirp. "Dear Swanheart, thank you for organizing our hunting patrols that keep us fed."

{Mousekit}
I shuffled my paws, not sure what to say, so I said something slightly different then Snowkit's, "Um, Dear Swanheart, thank you for organizing our border patrols that keep us safe.

{Sandkit}
"Dear Swanheart. thank you for serving your clan tirelessly." I meowed seriously.

{Cloudkit}
"Dear Swanheart, thank you for never being to busy to play mossball with us." I shuffled my paws shyly, I knew it was kind of an improper thing to say, but I really like playing mossball with her.

"I will." Leafshade dipped her head and scanned the crowd of cats. "Pinestream! Where's Hawkstorm?"

Frostfur lead the way to Ashstar's den. "I had a dream earlier, and I saw a ginger kit and Leafshade. They were drowning in the river. I had to choose to save one of them, but I took too long, and they both drowned. Since then, I haven't been able to erase their cries for help from my mind. What do you think it means, Ashstar?"
