@keen - Welcome to Egg Cave! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.Checking out the Forum Rules and the Site Guidelines would be an easy way to start. These explain what is and what isn't acceptable regarding the site itself and the forums. A couple of other useful links are the Player Guide (a helpful list of commonly asked questions) and the eCode guide (the code tags used around the site, such as the tags I'm using to make this appear in italics. Just a little tip, but EC doesn't seem to currently support BBCode or HTML tags, so posting your creatures onto these forums using the codes provided for them will not work.).If you are replying to someone, you should ping them. Otherwise, they won't be notified of your reply and therefore be unaware that you've done so. To ping someone, simply type an @ followed by their username (e.g. @sparklefox ). You can also click the left-pointing orange arrow in the grey box below a forum post.A common mistake from newbies is that they'll ping and reply to people who have commented on their wall using their own wall. Pinging does not work out of forums and the blog, and to reply to the comments made on your wall, you go to the user's wall instead. That way, they will be notified about your reply.Egg Coins (EC) is the main currency of this site, and is used to purchase most of the things available on the site - such as items and travels for your creatures. These are mainly gained through feeding eggs / creatures. Cave Cash (CC) is another currency and is used in the Cash Shop Park. This is purchased through real life money and can be spent on many exclusive items and creatures only available here. Exchange Credits (XC) is for use in the Click Exchange - found by clicking on the XC amount in the sidebar. These are gained through clicking the creatures in the Click Exchange, and every click on any creature(s) you have in here uses one of your XC. If you have none left, then your creature(s) won't appear in the Click Exchange until you gain more (and yes, getting a minus amount is completely normal and happens when people click fast enough on your creature(s)).This post here explains many different abbreviations which are commonly used around this site. It would be helpful to read through it, in my opinion.Any creature which has reached level 2,000 or over is considered immortal and so cannot die. To evolve your creatures, you need to reach the right amount of stats for that creature's species (200 feeds, 1,000 views, etc.). You can find this out via looking up the species in The Archives, available under the Explore tab above.I apologise if you knew any of the above information already.Could we say that you're keen to get started? ...Bad joke. Very bad joke. I'm sorry.Have a great day, and a nice time here!

@sparklefoxHahaha good one XD Thanks for the info! Is there a benefit to having more than one pet of each species?

@keen Hello! A warm welcome to Egg Cave! Sparkle's pretty much told you everything a newbie would want to know so I won't swamp you with unnecessary info or anything ^^"As for you question, it depends really. Some people might just want one of each species (practically impossible- just so you know- some people have taken years to collect a quarter of total species) or some might wanna hoard a particular species 😊If you wanna hoard, be prepared to spend time feeding so they won't die- or you can spend ec ( 🪙 ) at Tim's food shop. Some people might want a species to be frozen in each stage, i.e the keskoe (your profile creature) has 4 stages (including the egg). The player might get four Keskoes then freeze each at each separate stage. Obviously, this would take dedication, time and plently of money. Other people might wanna collect a female and male of as many species as they can- pretty much easier than other options but still kinda hard-.And then there are those like me. I just kinda go with the flow, adopt what I can, put favorites in one account, and send all the others to a side account. In general, the answer to your question is too complex for someone of simple mindedness like me xDIt's yes and no really. Hoping I didn't confuse you or anything- best of luck! (And an early Merry Christmas and New Year to you- I'll be on hiatus) 😃

A wild beast-thing is approaching!Hello, and welcome to Egg Cave, @keen! It's nice to have another person in this... small... community! I see @sparklefox has already explained most of everything you need to know currently. Also, to ask questions, there's a separate place in the forums called Help & Questions, in which people will answer any questions you have to ask. Now, if I could answer your question, I surely would, but I don't quite understand. Pets do not trade; the owners do, just to clear that up, and there will be sort of descriptions for the trade, where most people list what they will take for their creatures that are for trade.I'm sorry if my words can sound confusing or even rude, sometimes I can be like that by accident.

@keen no problem 😊 yes there is a way/s to know how much a pet will trade for!so, there are several categories in a way: commons, cc creatures and monthlies.commons are well, commons from the cave. maximum worth would be around 5k ec or less. cc creatures are bought with real money: usually, there are 2 creatures for 500 💵 ($5) each month - hence 'cc monthlies'. their values increase each year, for example a really popular cc creature is the fourbon- people will trade up to and surpassing 4k cc (over $20) because it's that rare and popular. you won't find one of these monthlies for less than 500cc, that'd be considered a rip-off. then there are the special cc creatures- for 200cc ($2). their values increase- slowly compared to the normal cc creatures. they'd be around 400cc after an year or so. then again, it depends, like for the onny. that was an easter special- available only for 5 days. now that may have been 200cc originally, now it's more than 5k o.o.monthlies- there are 4 each month. two from the cave- and two in the cc shop. cave monthlies can go up to 50k ec or further- values increase as the years go by. they are definitely not as common as commons, still pretty hard to get. a player might not be able to get a monthlie at all- it does happen. there are other categories, such as getting a creature for a reward from finishing some sort of quest or what, creatures from leila oasis (retired commons) and thief shop (incredibly rare).or you can simply ask around in the forums 😊 older users have more of an idea about values- i've only been here for an year so xDhoping that helped, best of luck collecting! (you chose the hard path- and i ain't kidding about it being hard o.o i mean SERIOUSLY i gave up after obtaining only around 50/600 species)also~ you can trade 1 million 🪙 for 100 :c:.
