I spend a lot of time in other pet sides so I think I know what we need ^^
I remember when valenth have similar issues - first not many people so the side was poor, then CC introduced very hard to find and people were suffering from lack of them. But shines where introduced, more people came, CC was not that expensive and now If you want CC you have many possibilities to get not one but few just by trading few of your limited pets, and there is egg shifting/new pets constantly and max 2 Cash creatures by month and 90 % pets don't retire.So if you don't buy CC now you will buy it later. Side is prospering, growing and this all though me to hope for better eggcave 😃

I really love the point of shifting and having CC in exchange, of say, 1,000,000 ec to 250CC... 😃

@balletninja $15/month is waaayyy tooo expensive considering from where I live. 😱 Not to mention that not all users in EC are US-based or Canada-based, some are from other countries--third world countries--who just want to have some fun😱

@metaphor I like the name thing 😸 i am really picky with my critters names 😋

I got most of my rares because when i joined it was the January Creature release week... I got a lot of kiteps, blobbs, and sprites 😃 😃 I use to trade them 😸 plus, people back then (even if it was just months ago..) were really nice and POLITE 😱 people were really nice back then until they started to vanish ☹️

I remember reading an idea of having a thieves market (or something like that) located in Leila... wherein you can buy a rare random egg (eg onny) using EC but of course, it would be sooooo expensive and it would be like just one egg available... (i can imagine the feeding frenzy😋)

Read most of this thread. First off, I have to say no to all ideas stated by you and everyone thus far I have read. This would cause just as many headaches as the CC's do. I personally would be even more annoyed by it and definitely quit. Eggcave can only be two ways as far as I can see. Everything equally available for all or keep the segregation between the privileged and the non-privileged. If people would stop caring about rares and only concern themselves about raising their eggs(the main point of the game), we could all be much happier here. That's all that has to be done. Making everything available to anyone would fix all this madness in a hurry. The cruelty, the hoarding, and the greed. But I seriously doubt Ian would do this. So, you either deal with it and be happy with you have here or leave. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but that's what I think.

@siri i respect your comment and I see the point of it but many users aren't like that anymore ☹️ For a person who doesn't have access to CC... it's really hard. It's just lucky for me to find someone who doesn't care about the 'rarity' of a critter but cares for what he/she likes ❤️

Anyway... I am still... *still* enjoying this site not because I already completed my zen cove but because I am still in love with tasmas, and unhemns! ❤️33 😋 I am not picking it up on my cave but rather I adopt them out from the center ^^' *huggles ballerina, elise, firefox, jelly, and providence* 😃

And I sadly have to disagree with you @siri I saw other sides going the same or other way, If your prophecies were true that :
A)Side is not not able to pay bills and will die or
B)People run away because no one have money to pay for X years for the side that they not enjoy/have very few people/ and its chocking with itself so it will also die eventually.

Yes, I know. The CC's pretty much rip most hearts out..literally, by turning pple sad or cruel. You have to ignore it or it will eat you up.

Also I just decided to stop looking for an Onny - I wont search for it like that !! I will better give all my pets from storage to people that need them - If I got that many great pets UFT and not getting an Onny I am scared to think about others ☹️.

"Making everything available" would kill the side because it wont earn any money for itself and the other option - realising most or only CC pets WILL make people quit because nobody will pay 15/20/60 $ every month to have eggs here. That's why I suggested alternative ideas - making non CC pets rare, giving to us more chances to get CC not only from buying/ getting unique creatures and shifting so nothing will become extinct and totally unavailable to all users !

So the site will become more popular more people will buy CC and we all will be happier here ^^

But If just some of those or even other people ideas would come into life and eggcave would bloom as I am hoping for it to do this would be worth 100 Onny's for me 😉

@anori You mean sites, not sides? I got my Olimpt, Colatay, Kacki and Flover for free. It was really nice of them, but it's really sad because two of them died because I was sick AND my internet connection crashed. ☹️

When I first joined Egg Cave, I was always on the verge of quitting, but I never did. You know Tea, she was one of my first pets and during the days when I never went on (which was a lot), she was always the one who escaped death! 😊

Nice suggestions. Glad to see someone who understands the current situation from a newbie point of view.

But making more things rare will only worsen the situation. Think of the new travels in the TA - apart from those who stalk the TA 24/7, how many of us actually manage to buy those things? Think of the asteroid eggs, which are permanent rares - somehow, most of them end up with the same handful of people who hoard everything else that is rare and retired.

If we make more things rare, it only makes the non-rare eggs even more "junk". And the situation won't change. The same people who already hoard all the rare eggs and travels will continue to hoard all those new rare eggs, and newbies will still have to use real life cash to get a dozen of CS eggs in order to get just one retired egg from these hoarders.

The solution is to make rare things more accessible. Neopets rerelease retired items all the time - that doesn't cripple the economy, so a limited time rerelease of retired pets, like the Ghosty during last year's Halloween, would help newbies get a chance at getting retired pets.

And you are right this is sad true now if you don't have any friend you don't have pets ;/

@mrsgiggles And this is what I am talking about - not making everything rare just make it earn-able accessible.
If eggs would be shifting like they would be Le but not retiring and we would have more occasions to earn pets that would be rare and unique or win CC this side would be much more accessible because No pet Would gone retired forever so people would earn pets that they want and help each other like in older times. And the site would gain users not scare them away.

And since this site is new I hope that it will become even better if not tomorrow maybe for a year or just someday ^^ I would be really sad If eggcave just stopped in place and died after some time.
Of course now we have something to look for (free eggs for Christmas and Other incoming Holidays) I am just talking about future If we let CC eggs take over the world ^^ and wont give people options -
Some people would and will buy, some people cant or wont but we need to have alternatives and chances because if people will think that this is CC only site they will leave - I had no doubt about it ☹️

@anori I agree. I created a similar topic a few months ago, and I even have a petition for helping to stop Egg Cave's most precious oldies from leaving. Ian should create a section on the site for oldies. Any ideas?

@whimsical Great idea ! We should have it and I would say even more maybe access to some pets for example
egg A would unlock when you would be 1/2 year here and egg B when you will be year old ^^ This would also be something to wait for. And maybe certain special travels and more so people would want to stay ! 😃

I don't know what you mean by side. And yes, I know making everything available would eliminate the monetary gain for Ian. So, that won't ever change. I was only making a statement about the one and only way everyone here can be happy. The place used to be free to begin with. There were no CC's. Why couldn't it have stayed that way, I do not know.
And any of yours and other's ideas were to be put into play, I will quickly become fed up with this place and leave. So, I say leave the situation alone. Ian will do what he wants. If something isn't working he will make note of it and maybe do something about it. Stop trying to do Ian's job.

I just wanted to suggest something that In MY opinion would change things to better - because most of the people here want change. And your statement is very weird for me - I and others wrote about more pets so if you see new pets you will quit ? O.o

And I don't want to fight or to be rude I want all the people to express their opinion (and you have your own its OK ) so we would have few good long awaited changes so the site would become better and this is all ^^. Because people are the heart of it and every site so we just can't leave it alone.

I like the idea of the newbie pack, though I think validating your account, being a member for one week and completing the introduction should be mandatory. I also think getting 25 posts in the forums, booking an egg at Tim's and putting a travel on one of your pets (those last two so people know how they work) should be added to that introduction for the newbie pack. The newbie packs shouldn't be too easy to get, that will promote multiple account abuse (aka join to get newbie pack). I think Ian could give out these packs himself, for example give you one CC monthly and a random cave rare from the 3 most recently released 😊 A notice to explain the value should be added to the newbie pack, to prevent ripoffs.

It couldn't stay free because running a site costs money and Ian has to earn a living, it's as simple as that. Our problem is that Ian seems to be focusing on getting more cash from current users, while his tactics actually scare newbies away which not only costs him revenue from ads, but these newbies may also at some point have started spending money. More users = more users with CC = more income for Ian. Even if eggcave isn't doing bad, it could certainly be doing better.

Also if you'd quit over something like this, you might as well quit right now, cause it's obvious you will at some point when things don't go your way. There's no need to throw around stuff like that, even if you don't like what's being suggested.

I just wanted to suggest some stuff and I hope that many people will also do so, and the result will be positive for us all not only for certain people - older or newbie, rich or poor so we all be able to just have fun 😃 - and most of my suggestions are just to make it so - even more funny and engaging - just a place that we want to come back to.

lol When did I say I was actually quitting? I never said I would quit just because of suggestions being made. And when did I say I wanted things here to go my way? I only stated my opinion cause i was asked. No need to make a big deal about it. Eggcave is what it is and I enjoy myself here the way it is now. If it changes and I don't like it, I will simply leave. Simple as that. I could care less about those who choose to quit, CC creatures, etc. I just want to raise my creatures.

At least take the trouble to edit your statements out of your previous posts if you're gonna deny them. Doesn't sound like you're enjoying yourself, sounds like we're putting you through some kind of torture simply by suggesting something. We're respecting your opinion, but the way you're talking to us makes it obvious that you don't respect ours.

I don't really have anything to add to this, but I think these are all great ideas and DEFINITELY a step in the right direction!

I actually have the spare few bucks every month in order to use the CSP but even so I do wish the CS monthlies were 250CC instead of 500CC, and I definitely think it'd be great if you could save up a ton of EC to convert into CC!

I feel bad for all the newbies who can't get the CSP eggs, but I just don't have enough money to help EVERYONE, you know? And begging certainly doesn't make me want to be more generous.. The only way I can try to be helpful is by getting a few extras and hiding them on my super secret side account (yeah right!) and then give them away later (I'm working on this!).

But yeah. @anori I really liked all your ideas! 😊
