Gah! 29th attempt, just lost my first Stargazing.
But c'mon! Goldur only has FOUR points! ...and among so many stars. I took a screenshot. Just get out a drafting compass and tell me I'm wrong.
It was practically impossible to get right. (Even though it looked like I was.)

I feel you guys' pain with stargazing.

@sinthr Oof! that absolutely looks correct. That early on, I don't think there should have been any overlapping stars. I'd actually consider reporting that one as a bug ? ? ?

(As you get more wins/more tries, they add about 30 more stars to the board.
mine, there were two stars overlaying each other. I just happened to pick/guess the wrong one.

Gosh, I forgot how clear those skies were that long ago. Looks so easy now.)

@sinthr Pretty sure that's fully correct. Maybe you should submit a ticket?

Deleted • 2 October 2021 at 7:16 AM

@singasong I'll definitely do it later If I do remember. Seems a bug to me as well. x)

@snowywinter If I do remember correctly I encountered the overlapping problem as well the past year. It's also stars being really, really near to each others so you just miss the right one...

@sinthr I agree, that looks correct to me?

I haven't fed this much in ages - probably great for my bank account haha.

YAY!!! I FINALLY GOT MY FANGTHARP! (Been wanting two since I joined.)

Cancellation(Br) finally lives!
(Well... Cancellation Bear has been alive and well for quite a while... just it now has a namesake here on Eggcave.)

Hide your favorite TV shows, backup your favorite games, run for the hills!
There is no hiding from Cancellation Bear. Only the strongest (loudest) armies may defeat it.

My cove is feed friendly, and I have a list of ~40 creatures to feed for people who don't want to do 686 LOL.

Also, with the corn maze - it can give out seeds 😊 It gives out items, seeds, and EC, from what I've seen. It's a good way to get free items and just hope it'll give you the seeds to make up for the 50 you spent going in.

Thank you @mythisea for the answer about the Corn Maze! 😊

(I may give it a try later since I got the one thing I wanted most from the event. I wasn't spending any seeds until then.)

Thank you everyone who has fed my creatures.

I'm kind of new, and I still haven't had time to feed back.

I still appreciate it though. :-)

I was wondering what good zooming in would do on Stargazing. I figured small dots on top of small dots were still overlapping dots. Buuuut... I was stuck on one and tried it. Zoomed out a few times, they actually started to spread apart.
So thank you for planting that seed @lykhaos117 !
Makes me wonder though if people with bigger monitors might have an advantage? I know not as much shows on smaller devices and it was more squished together (I tried just out of curiosity.)

FYI @lykhaos117, a couple more people on Page 2 wanted to be added to the feed list.
( disney, mythisea, castielkix - so you can quickly find the posts.)

I tried the Corn Maze. Not my cup of tea. Seems to be another game of chance instead of skill. I was really hoping it was an actual maze.
Not worth it for the amount of seeds I had to spend. IMO. For chance alone I'd either like better prizes, or to spend less seeds. If this required skill, than perhaps I'd feel the fun was worth the risk.
I'll let you decided for yourself though...

CORN MAZE (highlights - where I actually got something.)
1 (what happened to 1, I didn't do anything)
2 You find 225 EC on the ground!
5 This new Yellow Willowisp Candy Dispenser item appears and you take it for yourself!
7 You're glad you've stayed in the maze this long. This new Wiggit Adventures Vol. 3 item has been added to your Inventory! You decide to keep going...
8 A ghost appears and hands you 124 EC.
11 This new Straw Bale toy has been added to your Inventory!
13 You hear a voice and then 150 EC appears.
16 You find 149 EC nestled between two cornstalks. You then feel a strange air, as if a ghost were nearby and continue walking.
17 You find 237 EC on the ground!
Tries: 20 / 20
LOST!!!! You didn't find your way out in time. Oh no!
Hopefully you won't be trapped here forever?

(and personally, for the amt of EC made, I'd have rather been feeding mortal eggs to help keep them alive.)

Good night/ morning. I'm off to go get some shut-eye soon. Happy seed hunting!

@snowywinter Hmm, the Corn Maze is fun for me. Personally, it's just what I like best, exploring in a sense. I get seeds from there as well, which exceeds the 50 seeds I paid (usually about 150+). I only succeeded getting out on my second try 😊
Hope you manage to find some more cool stuff in there! ❤ī¸

@lykhaos117 - Thank you for making this. May I be added to the list too? My entire cove is feed friendly (currently at 744 creatures), I try to feed back but I may be slow. There's an ever-so-slowly growing list of 24+ if you don't want to feed everything.

I haven't had a problem yet with overlapping stars in Stargazing, but I'll keep an eye out.

Blarg, got woken up and now I can't fall back asleep.

@singasong99 thank you for sharing this counter opinion ^ _ ^ ...and results.
It was my favorite space to visit while egg hunting for the Hyaden. I love all the different artwork.
Maybe I'll give it another try after I earned up enough for a few more creatures I've been wanting.
Best wishes to everyone getting more seeds than they spend! ❤ī¸

Hey guys, are the constellations for the star-gazing puzzles flipped around?

I'm pretty confused on them, so if anyone would like to give me tips on that, I would be happy.

@galactic_pigeon No, they are never flipped. (As far as I'm aware.) Exact same as they appear. (@dragiigy you've been doing this for years, maybe you can answer. I've been in the top 5 this year, but I figure you've done 100's more.)

It helps to find spots on the example that stand out. Certain patterns that can be more easily picked out. (This will differ for everyone.) A certain way some align in a line? A tight grouping? A specific shape (triangle, polygon, etc.)?

They start out easy with just a few dots on the sky. When you get about 20 correct it's really hard because a lot of dots have been added to the board. Around my 50th? it actually started to get easier? once you break a certain threshold, so many dots have been added, that a certain amount of area is kept clear(ish) for the constellation. Then there are fewer places to look on the board.

(And as I mentioned before,) If you mess up, refresh the page. Do not submit your answer. Your reward will be lower (it's timed,) but at least it'll still count as a win and you still be rewarded. (With seeds and sometimes a travel.)

Best of luck!

@singasong99 Bragging rights? ; P

(Seriously though, I've been wondering the same thing ...but I don't *think* this is like the main site's where you actually get something. It would be cool though.
I'm just on them because I'm trying hard to get seeds - barely doing more than I do on a daily basis around here. - As for Stargazing, I just really like it. lol. Putting my penchant for patterns to good use.)

Hopefully someone that's been around a couple years will tell us.

@snowywinter

Did the math. Doing the Maze every day for the 31 days of October cost 1550 seeds.

If you can get at least 4 travels during those 31 days it makes up for the amount + a little.

4 x 400 = 1600

That's not including the seeds and EC you can find (the other items you can find aren't worth much)

I DID IT! I finally got a Lazzar!!! I'm so happy 😃
Not much of an achievement, but I was constantly feeding and playing for the past 5 days, and only got about 10 seeds per 50 critters fed. (there were exceptions, though)
Coincidentally, today is the first day I tried the Travels of Terror and got it right. 😊

@pet_cemetery thank you for doing the calculations!

And if you take into account being able to get 30 seeds each from some of the Stargazing, it more than makes up for any daily loss from the maze. (But say you only get 10. It still would only take five of those, and they're available every 1/2 hour.)

(Entirely worth it for most people.
Me - I'm recording every little thing. So it takes up more of my time.)

Truly, I appreciate the time you took for this. I'm sure many people will find it useful!

no sure if anyone has noticed or spoken up about this-

so, the bane of my existence has been the goldur constellation (ruined my perfect streak) but! i think i found a little "hack" that might be helpful? i am on PC btw. if you drag the little picture of the constellation at the top right corner directly onto the constellation you created, you might be able to see if it lines up and is therefore correct? obv the puzzle itself is bigger but, unlike other constellations, goldur is not sized up but rather extended

i've only tried it once so far but let me know what you think? 😊

@lexicon
I feel your pain. The Goldur constellation hardly seems fair. (It hasn't caught me yet, but it was frustrating to no end.)

I wished so many times I could pull an image over. (and didn't realize I could.) I thought about even using tracing paper but figured it would take too much time (...*has idea to open the images and make them larger, and trace them ahead of time.*)
But at least being able to drag over the small image can help reference them better (especially when zooming in to get the stars to spread out, and only the bottom edge of the thumbnail is visible, if at all.)
