Summer Creature Suggestion: The Flickoi

Notes-
-This is not meant to be a Halloween creature. It is a firefly-based creature, and therefore preferred months for release would be June, July and August.

Smol details: Height & weight: that of a regular cat

About the Egg:
Flickoi eggs are found in middle-of-nowhere meadows, their black fur blending in with the night sky. Their transparent yellow-orange wings sometime flutter, glowing on and off.

They give off a sense of eeriness that only grows as they near hatching. The wings stop fluttering, and there is only that glow, fading, brightening, a sickly amber color. The egg starts to appear and disappear in places. You begin to feel uneasy around it, convinced that it is watching you…

About the Creature:
Flickoi are very playful creatures that love nothing more than getting tangled with a ball of yarn or chasing after a butterfly. They are kittens all throughout their lives, and eternally retain a childish demeanor. After they develop their wings, they can often be seen on warm summer nights tracing erratic twirls and loops in the air, surrounded by fireflies and the chirring of crickets. Nevertheless, some Arkians have described the feeling of seeing a lone Flickoi as terrifying, likening their dance to the way a predator stalks and watches its prey, and Flickoi naturally seem to emanate a strong sense of unease and eeriness.

Luckily, this feeling has usually disappeared by the the time they reach their last stage. Many suggest this is because of the umbrella they carry around. Although no one knows where this umbrella comes from, it creates its own whispering susurration as it sweeps around a flying Flickoi in a manner that seems almost alive. Wild theories have sprung up regarding this, such that a Flickoi channes its eeriness and emotions into the umbrella, splitting its personality to do so. However, while no concrete evidence supports them, owners of Flickoi usually agree with these suppositions, adding that Flickoi will often act completely different during different times of the day- and of course, that they are inherently contradictory creatures that embody both cuteness and fearfulness.

Nevertheless, they are not wary creatures by nature, and owners will often find that they make remarkably loyal companions that will stay with the owner for the rest of their life-although they will still disappear for weeks at a time to join wild Flickoi on warm midsummer nights. Flickoi themselves do not die- rather, their bodies simply scatter and disperse into a group of fireflies one night

@amberwater I don't know if this was meant to be more scary in a very strange way but that's what it sounds to me now. Not that it's abd or anything. It's just different from the original. I don't know which I like more but this is definitely interesting. 😊

@megamisama90 I guess a mixture of both XD Cuteness + scary, but I didn't want to create, like, a halloween creature or anything（specially when the colors are amber, black and yellow owo ) and wanted to add something new. It's a conflicting creature. that' all 😊 But I'm glad you find it interesting!! I think I defintely improved the creature and egg descriptions(as in the way I wrote it) tho, I thought they were becoming, well, to hard to understand ^ ^;

I think I like this creature description better, I like the bit of spookyness to it especially since it is not a halloween creature it creates a difference because most of the spooky creatures are around halloween time.

@storm-sage I suppose you're right- There are quite a few. Deer, too. The thing is, cats are my favorite animal plus I've been drawing them legit my whole life ^ ^ But yeah, that's tru. Either way, I'm planning to do a dragon creature collab next 😊 And already did a fox

Very cute. It's also somewhat spooky at the same time, which is an interesting mix. But for the wings, are those gems? Lightbulbs? Either way it seems pretty cool 😃

@crystalshard Thanks! Yep, that's what I was aiming for XD . Oh, the wings are just transparent big firefly/insect wings that can glow. The glow part is because I wanted smth kinda light-emitting like what fireflies have. 😊

It's nice to have a slightly spooky pet outside of October and a firefly theme works well for summer.
