"Dave is... gone?"

Rianee almost choked on the words that engulfed her in misery, turning to Oliver. Dave was so strong, he could've bended his way out of the earth, couldn't he? No, there was too much... And Beth had forgotten him. Would he fade away, his image and face forgotten by all that loved him, washed away with the tide?

Oliver had tears on his cheeks as he hugged Rianee. "I'm sorry."

Rianee bit her lip, taking in a deep breath. She hugged Oliver back gently, tears brimming and threatening to fall in a wave of sadness. But she had to be strong, she couldn't let go. Rianee straightened herself, swallowing the lump in her throat.

"What happens now?"

Oliver ran a hand through his hair. "We keep going, I guess. But we don't forget him."
