I've written less poems than I meant,

Purrfect was perfect - she sat with poise
And was so careful with her toys
Even when tangled in coils of wool
She'd carefully rewind it onto its ball

She loved to cuddle and to purr

She never had a bad hair day
Yes, Purrfect was perfect in every way.

Incipere is purple, with soft and fragrant fur
Many things in his long life are still yet to occur
He lies amongst the flowers and runs and jumps and plays
And sees the beauty of his past and present days

As time goes past Incipere, many things remain
Many things to do, and many skills to gain
He embraces the future, and knows that he'll have fun
And that Incipere's long life has only just begun!

Walking in the mountains, you see a flash of green

He laughs and says "I'm sorry, I'm practicing my skills -
One thing I need to work on is hiding in the hills!"
From hiding and surprising, to a face-painting stall,
Fenfang does so many things and gives each one his all.

Mahlah comes up to you, scribbling fast
"Here is your poem, the final and last!"

Frenesi the picerak liked to jump around
She had so much energy she barely touched the ground
She liked to jump and dance and play and was in fact quite manic
Sometimes it caused her poor owner a little bit of panic!

However, being wild was not her only thing
Frenesi in other languages sometimes would sing
Singing songs and running wild was no cause for alarm
For though she was frenetic, Frenesi was a charm.

"Running this stall has been fun,
I loved to write for everyone!
It is my hope my poems sated
the desires of those who waited.
I've learnt so much from being here.
Perhaps I shall return next year!"

Ooh, this is a fun one! I LOVE songs where the lyrics conflict with the mood of the song- although it's always a little jarring when you haven't been paying attention to the lyrics only to realize what you've been listening to! XD This one's a pretty well-known one, but still definitely good, and now that I'm looking at it, it does seem a little too upbeat and cheerful for what the lyrics are...oh well, that's part of the charm!
