my go-to is always Hatsune Miku, vocaloid is a special interest of mine and i simply think Miku is fun to draw, its so much fun coming up with my own outfits for her but still keeping her recognizable, she is incredibly versatile as a starting point for character design!

besides her i have two human ocs that i really like drawing, they are both sort of semi-personas as they represent two different aspects of my identity. they are a very big part of how i process emotions and changes, i switch up little things about their design often to reflect changes in my internal life (: i usually draw them together, which is really fun since they have vastly different appearances and fashion tastes - one dresses in grunge style clothes with warm muted colors, especially green. only exception in his wardrobe is the mountain of band shirts. he prioritizes comfort over appearance and accessorizes very minimally. the other one likes to look pretty, they tend to wear goth and punk styled DIY outfits with lots of metal accents and small details. sometimes they feel like switching things up and dressing extra cute with pastel colors and cute ribbon accessories. the second one encourages the first one step out of his comfort zone on occasion, like painting his nails or putting on eyeliner for him ^-^

i did not plan on writing this much but yes miku and my ocs is my answer 🐈‍⬛

I don't really have a Favourite thing to Draw, I tend to like being 'Spontaneous' - I do find I end up drawing a lot of Landscapes though, or different types of Weather/Times of Day - again, I'm quite Spontaneous, but I guess my Favourite things to Draw also depend on my Mood 😅

Some things I've enjoyed lately is drawing things in 'Jars' - Just Fun little Doodles, but it can be quite interesting thinking about what can fit/not fit into a Jar 😊

I don't remember having a favorite when I could draw (physically unable to now.) Though I most often drew animals, plants, still-life objects (particularly apples.) I had a variety of styles, bust most often drew somewhere between cartoon and realism.

I do remember a period of drawing many dragons. (If ever there was a favorite, it would probably be them.)
I also fell in love with drawing characters from The Lion King (it was the first time I was good at drawing existing characters. Helps that it was my favorite movie, so that fueled the ambition to keep practicing. It was actually really good for imagination-hand coordination and improved my ability for original ideas to come out how I intended too.)

I also liked playing around with word art and designing covers for folders, books, posters, etc.

I always wanted to be able to draw wolves, but no matter how many techniques I tried, I never picked up the coordination. (I mean... I drew them... but really badly. To the point I erased many attempts. Something I almost never did with other sketches.)

"Why" for any of it... whatever the mood strikes. Drawing can be cathartic for sad times, or a great way to express enthusiasm for things I enjoy.
With dragons it just felt like they needed to be in existence (and at the time not many people were drawing them.) As for nature it was a way to combine two things I love and engage with both at the same time in a way. With word art it was another avenue to be creative.

(Was a bit surprised I hadn't replied to this thread already, as drawing used to be Life, a part of me... but I think it's taken a long time for my disability to stop being emotionally painful enough/triggering. Or I didn't want to bring the mood down.)

I really love drawing cute things and ships!! I adore drawing male x female pairings the most (Coming from an OC x Canon artist myself heehee)

I'm a lowkey romantic myself, so drawing couples makes me happy

I'm really bad at drawing, but I love doing art. My favourite thing to draw is mermaids and fish, and really any mystical/magical beings or creatures. I also really like drawing robots, because they're easy and fun and you can make them really cute. 😊

@maylin09 Maybe they'll turn up in shops - I find once things have been mentioned somewhere, they start to sneak into the system 😊🫙

@snowywinter I'm sure your drawings where beyond beautiful and id love to see a few if you still have them and wouldn't mind me seeing, they sound beyond incredible! also virtual Huggies.

@scientificlychee that sounds adorable and I'm glad you've found a drawing style/category that makes you happy, that's awesome!

@minervaandmars hey there's no such thing as "bad" at drawing, art is just a fun way people can learn and express themselves! mystical and magical things are always fun and whimsy i love it, and robots can either be really cute or scary/spooky so you have great options!
