Change in notification colors is hard on eyes, can't tell what's what easily

It seems there was a change in the colors of seen vs unseen notifications on the notifications page. The unseen/new notifications used to have a blue background with bold blue text, which was easy to distinguish from the other white-background regular-text notifications .

But now the new notifications have a really light yellow background that looks very similar to the other notifications white background, and while the text does seem to be bolded it's not a different color anymore and does not stand out as 'bold' when looking at multiple notifications.

I'm mostly bringing this up because I have some mild sight issues that have been acting up lately and this change has already started to give me a headache trying to distinguish the differences. @Ian I'm curious if there was any specific reason for this change? (Also curious if this is affecting anyone else like this, I know there are some users around here with sight issues.)

@heatherm19 I'll have to agree here! It's hurtin' my eyes a little bit, mainly because it is hard to tell between the colors so I end up squinting ^^'

I'm going to agree. While I love the other changes, the notifications are now to similar to easily differentiate between the old and new. I think even a darker shade of yellow background would help.

Oh my God it is so hard to see
I didn't see an issue when I was on phone! It was perfectly fine: the text was bold and the color is very easy to tell the difference. But as I'm on my Chromebook now, its so hard to the difference between the colors @_@

It is hard to see at times especially with cave notifications
I think maybe black background for notifs with white text would look cool altho that would probably make it worse
for me at least i think it would make it easier

i have to agree that it was easier to see when they were blue. i don't play on mobile but on my computer the color barely looks different from the normal notifications.

Personally I can tell the difference at a glance fairly easily, but I can see why others wouldn't be able to. I feel as though the pale yellow should maybe be a bit brighter or darker, or perhaps instead switched to a different colour.

I'm on a computer, not mobile. Screen is almost always at lowest brightness.

(I swear I remember a time where they used to be yellow-ish like this, but don't trust my memory. Maybe it was another site entirely.)

I really liked the blue on notifications. It was gentle. As people have mentioned it hurts eyes, mine too.
I don't see any yellow. o.O Was about to wait for new notifications but got to see it before I posted so. That's like faint-faint-faint yellow. So hard to see!! And only saw it as I moved the page up and it showed to me but not otherwise. I miss the blue ☹️

@sparklefox I feel they used to be yellow-ish too or something like that. It's so vague memory though.

Really hate the change for the notifications. Harder to see, and I preferred the blue not only because it was prettier but it was also less agressive on the eye and it was easier to tell the difference. Why change something that worked so well, I honestly don't understand.... ._.

I much preferred the old notifications too, having the new notifications a different color was extremely helpful, I can't tell them apart at a glance anymore. I don't struggle with reading the new version but it does feel strangely harsh.

I agree with everyone else. The older notifications were much easier on the eyes.

Changed back to blue. I agree! The yellow wasn't a well-thought-out change. Unread notifications now have a typical blue "unread" circle next to them, too. There is even more visual distinction now.
