Hello and welcome to another #creaturesuggestion, introducing Apertura! There's no particular season/month that is tied to this creature, I think this would work for any time of the year. Art: https://www.deviantart.com/isiseggcave/art/1284503974Weight: 1 kgHeight: 40 cmHabitat: Ark CityGender profile: Genderless (94% non-binary, 3% male, 3% female) About Apertura eggsSmile for the camera! Even unhatched, an Apertura can watch the world through its lens and take a photo. These eggs also function with external input; any bystander that finds an Apertura can use it to snap their own pictures. But where do these pictures go? There doesn't seem to be a camera roll anywhere...About the Apertura creatureAperturas are the ideal pets for any photographer: their ears light up as bright as a flash, their tails can be used as a reflective umbrella, and they have infinite data storage! Additionally, their three legs function just like a tripod, as they provide excellent stability and can be extended and shortened at will. The more pictures an Apertura takes, the further it grows. Once an Apertura has taken 10.000 pictures, it will be all grown up. At this point it will develop a printing function and will start printing every photo that was taken during its childhood, including when it was still in its egg. Aperturas are masters at adapting their behaviour to suit what the subject of the photograph requires. They can sit just as still as a real camera when photographing wildlife, but they also love doing tricks to make everyone smile and laugh for a group photo. In short: If you're an aspiring photographer, you would be wise to bring an Apertura with you. This is not an ad, it's just the facts!Notes to the artist, if this gets chosen: -Feel free to change the color of the creature entirely if you feel something else fits better. Those pastel polaroid cameras were an inspiration for this. Every stage could be a different color too. -The little lines near the ears are just to indicate that the ears glow/are bright, this can be pictured in any way you see fit. This is to say, the lines aren't a necessary part of the artwork. -It might be fun to add an easter egg on the polaroid photo in the adult stage, I left it blank but you could for example draw a photo of the Cave on it, or some other Egg Cave NPC/point of interest. Just an idea, totally optional. And that's all, thanks for reading ❤️Some random pings, hope that's alright!@ian@vanilla@dragrawr@lunacharm1037 @lia

This is so awesome. It would be interesting to see it as a actual creature and maybe you could even have like different photo items that come along with it.

@isis love the idea and the umbrella light tail detail! It's so cute i need it in my cove asap!! ❤️ (As they print every photo when they reach adulthood, do they run out of film? 🤔)
isis • 7 January 2026 at 6:12 PM
@gigachad yay I'm glad you like it!@lia Thank you! It won't run out, it gets regenerated by its body pretty quick, as long as you keep it well fed. Works the same way pretty much as with humans..😊 (I am so sorry, that implication is cursed)

@isis Very interesting idea. I'm not fully a fan of objects but this one is better as it's more animal type than fully a camera. What I like the most is the way you described the creature. I know cameras aren't that round but somehow I would like to see it little rounder. Not that it needs any changing. Thumbs up for Apertura!
isis • 8 January 2026 at 1:59 PM
@megamisama90 I feel you on the added roundness, I did try that out a bit at first, but it looked more like a webcam or security camera 😅 So I decided to stick with a more straightforward shape for it. Thank you for the feedback and I'm happy you still like it despite it being more in the object category ❤️
