The team at Egg Cave welcomes you to the month of August! This month's random theme is pixel art, blocky things, and retro stuff (a bit of a hodgepodge but we think you'll like it!).
We'll start with a fun fact: all of this month's monthly creatures were hand-drawn by an Egg Cave artist, Jessi, pixel by pixel. It's essentially pixel art! That's a lot different than making an outline and filling in colors. Every pixel was created with intention! We hope that you appreciate this attention to detail.
To the world of Ark, we welcome the Daffolynn and Sacchotton! Find these in the Cash Shop for a limited time (this month only!). A big thank you to @qerrats for their Daffolynn suggestion—the first of its kind has been added to your account free.
That's not all! We've got two more monthly creatures for you—the Hermicone and the Dinni. Thank you to @prairie for your suggestion of the Hermicone (and for the description!). The first Hermicone of its kind has been added to your account free.
The Drakimi has retired from the Cave but is now available in the Cash Shop Park for 200 CC through December 31, 2019. Yep, that's right! Until the end of the year.
The Fetti creature is still available through August 31.

@stevepat2002 I don't think so, I can't ever remember that being a guideline, I looked at the forums too and that wasn't a requirement either. Prairie could've also just gotten it as well, sometimes they do change the names from the originals though

@newlife dang. That just seems, well ya know... Since I stay up till midnight to try for this to have 3 of them already taken... one was already taken on a dinno (like last year) one was taken by @qerrats since they made them keep name, and one was by @prairie XD. Kinda a shame.

@stevepat2002 I know, it's just a factor of luck at this point, but it still keeps things a bit exciting to grab names haha, just a little disappointing too that some of the names are very simple so that someone would already have them from a long time ago

@stevepat2002, no way. xD Half of the fun is suggesting the name. 😊 Plus, it is nice to have the possibility of having your own suggestion's name. 😱 I mean, would you pick you're suggestions name with the intention of not having it?

@stevepat2002 I pulled an allnighter for a chance at a name and Im not complaining lol (6am over here). I think its nice when you manage to get a name; I also think its nice that if someones suggestion is made, it gets to keep the name the user gave it.

@stevepat2002 just the luck of the draw really, sometimes chosen names are simple, or based on an actual animal/item/person/etc causing it to be taken already. I too own one like that, when the grimalkin came out Id had the name for months at that point, --

because it also happens to be my favourite character in a book series I used to love (and still do). if creature names mean that much to you, maybe try looking into buying a few? with how many there are now, it shouldnt be too hard.

@stevepat2002 eh it always depends on luck actually. theres a chance the name has already been taken before it even comes out, theres a chance you're the only one fast enough to claim an untaken one, etc etc. as for the time, be glad its not 6am like it is for me lol

This week already has been pretty bad and this doesn't help. I know thats no excuse for anything but for what its worth... Hope I didn't offend anyone or sound like a 6 year old...

@stevepat2002 Still, the time is what it's always been since the server is based on EST, I'm just a bit luckier that I'm in MST, but it's always been at midnight (sometimes later... but still has never changed)

@stevepat2002 ....except eggcave runs on an american timezone, meaning new day = midnight. just tough luck if rollover happens at a bad time, nothing you can do about it. once again, if you want names so badly, take a nap before rollover or just find sales?

Also I'm not exactly interested I was actually just trying to get one to try and swap for a different one for a friend, which is probably what I'm upset about. I wasn't upset for 2 months ago so thats probaby it.

@stevepat2002 30 minutes is,,,, not exactly a nap either? optimal would be an hour or two, no longer than three, because that gives you time to fall asleep and doesnt leave you feeling dead when you wake up. gotta set an alarm of course, though

Also I just noticed the part in the post about how the creatures were drawn pixel by pixel. That's honestly really impressive, mad kudos to the artist 😱 I was wondering why the art style looked a little different this month.

The designs are alright and the pixel style is a nice idea, but I think it looks kinda messy on the eggs in some places. My favourite so far is the Daffolynn mainly because of the colours.
