@swimforlife yay 😃

She shifted a bit, letting out a slight 'mnh..' and shifting a bit more, her head slipped down slightly until she was lying half in his lap. a concerned look crossed her face, the only dreams she ever had-if any- always seemed to be bad memories or 'omens' A low grown from the creature caused her to lift her head quickly, her eyes shooting open "what was that... "she muttered, sitting up slowly and keeping her eyes locked on the darkness.

Charlie, still half-daydreaming, ignore the groan. Until Pixle spoke, Charlie ran still running through feilds in his happy place. 'What?' he asked, tension flooding his shoulders. Blinking twice, Charlie's vision was still unaccustom to the darkness. He could just make out the lumpy shape of the beast they had encountered earlier. 'I hope it's just having a nightmare,' Charlie replied, giggling slightly. As if on cue, the beast bellowed once more, now inching its way toward the two. 'That way,' Charlie hissed, pointing at the darkness.

Se nodded, shaking a bit as she watched the creature wide-eyed, scooting off in the direction he was pointing, she weakly pushed herself to her feet and stumbled silently into the darkness. "That thing is going to kill us!" she hissed nervously.

@inkstep Sorry I poofed, but I had to walk my dog. Dang! You're off again...

Charlie dropped to his knees before focusing on the creature. Rubbing his hands together, he conjured a small orb of water. He focused on the liquid feeling of flight, but nothing larger than a marble appeared. 'Pixle...there's gotta be something down here, I'm dehydrated. Looks like we've got to use brute force. How's your electricity? Power outage?' He slittered on his stomach, dragging himself closer to the yellow-eyed monster.

@swimforlife no I ish right heeeeere 😃

She shrugged, watching him wide eyed as he got closer to the creature, she flicked her wrist, weak static flicking from her fingers and falling to the ground, fading instantly "I'm dead..." she muttered "like a battery"

@inkstep YAYAYAYAYAYAAY Insert happybounce face 😃

Running a hand through his blonde hair, Charlie sighed. 'Any bright ideas, Miss Reve?' he asked, not breaking eye contact with the beast. 'Maybe flank it...it looks too large to be agile.But then again, judging a book by its cover does have its pit falls.' Charlie slid foward into a crouch, ready at any minute to lash out. His mind blanked for a moment; Charlie let his focus drift. The beast had returned to camoflaguing itself into the night air. Something about this moment seemed...out of place.

Charlie rolled the marble-sized orb across the cavern floor. A soft blue-green glow encompassed the sphere. Stepping back, Charlie blinked, twice. The cavern was completely empty. The illumination from the orb cast no shadow beside the ones belonging to Pixle and Charlie. Jerking his head back, Charlie frowned and shrugged. 'Do you think it could have all been in our heads?' he questioned, rubbing his weary eyes. As if on cue, the beast crashed to the floor, etinguishing the light. 'Piiiiiixxxxxxlllleeeeee!' Charlie bellowed as something wet and slimy grasped as his ankles.

She let out a sharp yelp, jumping back, her eyes widened as she watched, speechless. "Charlie!" she snipped, shaking slightly. she twitched a bit, glaring and frowning before twitching a bit, her eyes filled in white as static filled the air, multiplying into lightning, it shot through the air and wrapped around the creature. tightening as the glow intinsified.

@inkstep

The spectacle of the lightning was uncommonly beautiful. Charlie's sudden fear dissovled as he stared at the beam of white perfection. As a child, Charlie had been afraid of storms. The destructive beauty of storms amazed the blonde boy. The beast released its grip momnetarily, then bellowed. Charlie ears rung, sending him into a dizzing fit of vertigo. Flailing his legs, did nothing but enrage the beast. Doubling over, Charlie punched the beast. The force from Charlie's fist only bounced off the monster's pudgy belly. 'You fat sug!' Charlie hissed, before hitting the beast once again, this time in frustration.

The creature let out a scream that caused pixle's ears to rin, she stumbled and dropped the lightning attack, collapsing to her back "crud" she hissed, cringing

Charlie managed to slip one foot out of his magled shoe. It gave him enough leverage to twist from the blob's clutches. Pixle fell to her back, no doubt it was bad for her prostetic. 'You okay Pix?' He called, his voice eeriely empty. Army crawling on his stomach, Charlie arrived at the girl's side. 'Can you move? This Jabba the Hut beast is faster than I thought. We're gonna have to outsmart it.'

She crined a bit, static dancing along her arm and a few sparks twirling from her fingertips. Her eyes flicked open and she covered her face "Oh heck, OW." she mumbled and sat up, glancing over at the creature and nodded "Y...you're right.."

With a fluid movemet, the alien blob knocked Charlie on his face. 'Mmrrf' Charlie said, thoughtfully, spitting dirt from his lips. Rolling to his back, Charlie stood up, blinking in the darkness. The beast was partially outlined by the milky yellow light. The blonde wished it had stayed in the dark. Beyond intimidating, the critter loomed in the cavern. Its single yellow-brown eye glared, unblinking. Spittle dripped from the beasts probiscus and fangs onto its fleshy mucus colored belly. Charlie though the beast must have been the outcome of a mosquito getting to friendly with The Blob's one eyed cousin. Thought it might not be possible, Charlie retched and giggled at the same time. The odor of sweaty socks and battery acid filled the air. An oozey coat of grey liquid trailed behid the creature as it gained on the two.

Pixle yelped and dove out of the way as it tried to attack them again, she was panting hard now, sparks trailing up her arm and over her chest like a beeping heart monitor "Got a plan, Bombay?" she called, though as she did, the creature had turned, going at her now "Aw ok, besides run?" she called, diving out of the way and landing wrong, stumbling back down the decline of the hill and smashing her head against the stone wall, going black on impact.

'NOOOOOOO!' Charlie bellowed as Pixle's eyes slid shut. The echo of his voice resounded through the cavern, stirring the beast. This was just what he needed. She had made progress regaining her memory, now it was back to square one. Scambling to his feet, Charlie scooped up the albino girl and slung her over his shoulder. Careful not to jostle her, Charlie cradled her head. Rearing up, the beast emitted a blood-curdling screech. The beast swung its lower half in attempt to knock the boy off his feet. As agile as a cat, Charlie hopped over the blob and bolted toward the back of the cave. A pinprick of golden light streamed through a crack. Summoning what ever water vapor was in the air, Charlie blasted it, full force, at the hole. Crumbling a bit, the black dirt turned to mud. The hole had widened enough for Charlie to stick his head through. After setteing Pixle down, he began to dig with his hands. Arms burning, Charlie had finnished. Holding the girl against his chest, he inched out of the gap on his back. A dazzling spectacle of light warmed his face.

The light reflected off of the girl's hair, a bit of static trailed off her fingertips as she shifted a bit, gaining consciousness for a few moments, just enough for her eyes to slide open, her mind to register that she was with Charlie, and enough for her to smile before her eyes slid shut once more and consciousness failed her.
@swimforlife sorry it's so short

@inkstep I'm here now! Hope you're doing better today.

Cradling the girl against his chest, Charlie watched as Pixle's scarlet eyes closed. A few moments passed before her uncotiousness registered with Charlie. The heat of both suns beat down, nearly taking Charlie breath away. The air was crisp and arid; no humidity. Sheilding his eyes from the sun, the blonde peered around for a patch of shade. A few slender trees dotted the skyline. 'Its going to be just fine, Pixle. I'm taking you into the shade.' Charlie said, soothingly. Scrambling to his feet, Charlie began his hike toward the horizon. Trapising through the hot sand was draining, however, with the poor condition of Charlie's shoes, the walk was unbareble. Humming aloud, Charlie harmonized 'Clockwork Sorrow'. The ryhthmic pulse of his vocal chords droned out the buzzing of gnats. The melody was deticated to Pixle; Charlie hoped she could hear it.

@swimforlife yay 😸

She shifted a bit, more static dripping off her arm. 'C...charlie?" she muttreed as he neared the shade, her eyes flickeringg open some, their usual dark scarlet was now pale pink, her skin was cold and she was shivering like a wet bird. "w-what...w..where's kassy....the house...." she cringed a bit, whimpering as she pressed her head against his chest. "s..she..she's not t-the same....any..more..." she managed to mutter with another whimper.

@inkstep Hey!

Pixle began to shudder as Charlie clambered underneath the tree. His flicked his eye down, taking in the girl. She was ghastly pale; her eyes too, lighter than usual. 'You're alright, we're long gone from the house,' he spoke, ending his burst of humming. The words stuck in hie throat, as if they clung to his vocal chords. 'You hit your head, Pixle. A slight bout of amnesia took over your head for a while. The last thing you could remember was Febuary 20. We took to the jungle, and fled. I don't know what happened to your cousin, but we fell into some kind of pit. We battled this Jabba-the-Hut-Mosqito-Blob, now we're here. Is any of that coming back to you?' Charlie brushed the hair from Pixle's face, continuing to hum as he did so. 'I missed you, Pix.'

She thought for a moment, sliding her eyes shut for a few seconds "yes....its foggy though...." she pressed her head against his chest again "I don't feel so well" she muttered with a small cough. Her eyes slid open again and she looked up with the slightest smile on her face.

@inkstep Finally on together! Short posts are fine with me 😃

Quickly, Chalie took off his jacket and wadded it up into a pillow. He lay Pixle's head on the bundle of material. 'What doesn't feel weel? Head? Stomach? Arm? Lungs? Are you too hot?' Charlie's state of panic caused him to bomb the girl with questions. 'I'm sorry,' he spoke, soothingly, 'I just don't want to lose you...again.' Crossing his legs, Charlie sat intently at her side, ready to make any adjustments for her comfort. The twin suns continued to beat down, showing no mercy even in the shade. The blonde wiped his brow with the back of his hand. Sweltering, he thought to himself. A neon blue scorpion skittered across the golden-brown sand. Exausted with fending off creatures, Charlie simpily flicked the arthopod, sending it careening across the shadow of the tree.

@swimforlife hahaha, yay!

"Everything" she muttered roughly, cringing slightly, she smiled weakly "I...don't think im...going to 'leave' you any time soon"' she muttered, drawing a shaky breath, the ssmall girl curled up a bit, her dull eye color hidden again as she let her eyelids slip [yeep]. "Got a plan?" she muttered weakly, looking up at him for a reply.

Dragging his index finger through the sand, Charlie sighed. 'First things first-get you feeling better. After that, we've got to get out of here.' Turning toward Pixle, the boy forced a weak smile. 'Leverage. That's what we need. With the promise of a war, we can probably rustle up something. We could change our appeance as best we can, then enlist in the Klaxion forces. We'd learn thier weaknesses and strengths. Plus we'd be on the inside for every attack, weapon, base and battle. Also, we'd probably get a free ticket home!' Charlie frowned after he divulged his idea, 'Its risky and dangerous. If we get found out then, well, we're dead. Its gonna take some time too. We have to prove we know what we're doing.' Flicking another scorpion, Charlie looked at Pixle, her eyes still shut. 'What do you think? We've already gotten ourselves this far.'

I like that idea" she said with a slight smile "but you make it sound harder than it will be.....when do you want to start?" she said around a small yawn, rubbing the connection between her arm and shoulder. "we may not really need makeup or anything, could start by getting a wheel chair and doing this" she sat up and lifted part of her shirt, flicking a panel on her hip, it sprung open and she easily turned off the nerves, unscrewing the joints, she pulled out of the prosthetic, smiling as she looked up at him "just a few props could get us a long way" she muttered

Nodding, Charlie's face lit up. 'You're right! Not much of Klaxion know what we look like. The only people who have seen us are Brendon and his creeps. Plus a couple hundred people who watched Phase 4. We were pretty dingy and beat-up then, we just might be under the radar. 'Do you think they'd let you into the military with a wheel chair? Do they even have wheel chairs on this planet?' Charlie questioned, amused. 'We can start as soon as you can walk. The only factor I haven't figured in is where we are realitive to everyone else. For all I know we could be just a few miles away or thousands. I guess we're gonna have to wing it.' With a sly grin, Charlie mussed up his hair. 'Like this?' he asked, 'Or like this,' he joked, slicking his hair back.

"Dunno" she muttered "probably..." she thought for a moment, fixign the prosthetic back on and forcing herself to her feet, she reached up to one of the lower branches and plucked a dark fruit from it's spot in the tree. crushing it in her metal hand, she walked behind the boy and knelt down, running her fingers through his hair, being careful not to shred his scalp like before, she put a dark red-black tint to the boy's sandy blonde hair, making him look brunette now "alright, well that's a start" she said with a smile

'Thank you for considering my scalp this time!' Charlie added, with a smile. 'Now, what do we do about you? Is there any way to lengthen your leg prostetics? Everyone saw you as shorter than me. If you can elongate them in someway, you'd be taller...' Charlie paced in a semi-circle, mumbling to himself. 'This might work, this actually might work!' Charlie, the pescimist, was now tuning into the realm of optimisim. 'How much experience to you have in combat? You did play minesweeper for your 'father', so I'd say you've got some background, right?'

"uh, some, I'm more of the person who hides in the shadows and runs like h*ll" she muttered, looking up at the tree and getting a rather stupid idea. walking to a thick fallen log, she kicked off a few parts and formed another whip out of the static in the air. carving the pieces quickly and watching through the screen of her goggles, she quickly fassioned a wheelchair "I have to say I've never done this before...." she looked over the wooden devise and nodded "I can melt down the metal from my leg and coat it, same with the rubber from the sole and wire coating" she muttered with a slight nod.

'Nice work, Pixle!' Charlie exlcaimed, wathing her ease through the construction of the device. 'I think we learned the basics of combat from Phase 4. The only diffrence now is our...um...ablilties. I don't know how the Klaxion militia functions, but I have a hunch its brute force and heavy artilery.' Charlie crossed and uncrossed his legs, the 'yoga/meditaion pretzle sit', was tampering with his tendons. Springing to his feet, the boy rubbed the back of his legs. 'I once read that astronaughts in orbit often loose muscle function and structure due to shifts in gravity. Do you think that could happen to us?' he asked, slightly paranoid. Pacing once more, Charlie watched intently as Pixle assembled her woodwork.
