The Misadventures of Charlie Bombay

@inkstep Sorry I poofed

Agreeing with the girl, Charlie nodded. 'More fun than being kidnapped by hideous creatures, that's for sure,' Charlie said, with a grin. The speckles of light fluttered, just out of reach. Wetting the sand had increased the duo's travel speed. The city, according to Charlie, was no more than 5 miles away. Static hummed as Pixle formed a screen in the air. Blue text shot across the electricity. It appeared to be written in some sort of code, HTML coding, perhaps. Charlie shot the albino a confused look. 'You can read that?' he asked, rather dumbly. Facination had blurred his mind, leaving only his blue eyes to flick back and forth. 'Stunning' he mouthed, watching the glowing type even closer.

@swimforlife it's fine

"mm, yes" she replied plainly, her eyes partially closed as she stared at the screens "we aren't far...." she snapped out of it and nodded, the screens disipating into the air "Im forgetting things..."

A puzzled look crept across the boy's face. 'Do you think that's because you hit your head?' he asked, prodding for answers. The bright lights continued to bobble in the distance. Pixle and Charlie, with every step, closed in on thier destination. Somewhere within the final mile, the desert terrain morphed into a paved road. Small scrub plants dotted the street, flaunting ther array of bizzare flowers. Charlie absorbed every piece of the terrain, taking mental note of the textures, values and colors. 'Its surprising how diffrent, yet similar to Earth this is,' Charlie mumbled, no really caring if anyone heard. Something rustled in the distance.

"possibly" she mumbled, slowing her progress pace to match Charlie's. Her eyes scanned the oddly familiar scenery as they moved along "You're right....it's really interesting actually..." one of the screens appeared in front of her face again, she seemed rather shocked by it's apperance, the only things it held were three different monitors for her breathing, heart and brain, and a 'mind camera' which quickly snapped a picture before the screen vanished "Stupid static here is all messed up" she muttered, shrugging a bit. "We should probably refrain from using out abilities while we're here, someone might get suspicious"

With a starin of silence, Charlie nodded. 'Agreed. Human-Alien-Albino-Electromagnents aren't exactly commonplace around here.' The boy's feet subcontiously continued foward, as his eyes were affixed on the skline of the city. 'Well, we're here now, but where 'here' is, is the question. I'm gonna look around for a name for this place. I think we should stick together, unless you want to split up.' Peering around the edge of the street, Charlie desperatly searched for a sign. 'Nothing,' he commented. A veil of voices soon arose, sending Charlie spriniting back to the wheel chair bound girl. 'Someone's coming,' he whispered.

"we should probably...stick...together..." her voice trailed off as he walked ahead. Looking around the area, her eyes glinted a bit. curiosity and caution setting their place in her gaze "hmm?" looking up at him as he came running back, she wheeled back some, watching in the direction he had come from "guess we act like we arent trying to be spies?" she suggested weakly.

Grimacing Charlie nodded, 'As if I wasn't suspicious looking enough,' he added, stricken with panic. Adjusing his glasses, he forced a smile. Charlie gripped the handle of Pixle chair, streading himself. Two faces appeared, smug smiles plastered on thier lips. The duo was dressed in matching outfits, indigo shirts and deep purple trousers. Tiny silver and gold pins glimmered on the breast pockets of their shirts. Charlie broke eye contact and nudged Pixle's shoulder.

mnh?" she looked over at the beings and lowered her head some, her eyes locked dead on the two. "who the..." she let her question hang as her voice trailed off. They were certainly odd enough.

'Halt!' the redhead on the left said, sternly. The younger mint-green haired man, pursed his lips. 'We are Lieutenant Everill. Klaxion Planetarial Guard, come no further until you state your name and purpose. Outsiders are banned from the city, as it is in Lockdown.' The redhead nodded, mouthing along with his partner. A sandy eyebrow shot up, confused. The two men shimmered, then as if they were holograms, came together. Now standing in front of Charlie, was a single being with red hair and green bangs. The man gave a nod, looking for Charlie or Pixle to answer. With a stutter, Charlie choked out a response. 'I'm Blaire and this is my sister, Elliks. We've come to enlist, sent be Commander Hekki himself, before, he, uh, was...assisanated.' The man flashed a bemused grin. 'Very well, follow me,' Charlie shrugged, and turned to the girl.

Pixle nodded slightly, keeping silent, but keeping her eyes locked on the figure, something felt...off...'it's just me, nothing is going to go wrong...nothing...' she thought to herself, looking up at Charlie and smiling slightly.

@inkstep Sorry, I didn;t get the ping until I checked my notifications.

Charlie looked at Pixle, then up at the soldier. Surely, the transformation must have been an illusion. His mind wheeled, checking for a logical solution. Bending down, he whispered in the girl's ear. 'Did you see that too?' The brisk pace of the soldier was uncanny; he had almost reached the nearest building. 'We gotta catch up!' Exclaimed the brunette, pushing Pixle's chair as fast as he could.

@swimforlife lol it's ok

"yea...I did..." she muttered and nodded, biting her lip a bit, she held back a giggle as he pushed her chair along. a few sparks tailed from her fingers and she had to tuck her hands against her sides to get it to stop "this might not be as easy as we thought" she muttered, looking up at Charlie as she spoke.

OMG it's beyond short, I'm sorry, but I'm distracted right now XD

Deleted • 2 July 2012 at 1:11 PM

@inkstep Thats okay short post are still posts.

Charlie pursed his lips, 'That might me we're not the only one's with powers. That changes the asthetics of things!' Reducing his speed, Charlie walked to the side of the chair, allowing Pixle to roll on her own. The man raised an eyebrow, 'Slow,' he muttered, clicking something in his pocket. 'Now, where did you say you were from?' Panic coursed through his veins, adreniline pumped a random stored though to his brain. 'Karakonn,' he replied, trying his best to keep his composure. 'Lovely city,' the man added, 'I had a friend there, perhaps you knew him. Anyway, I'll bring you into our recruitment facility. From there you will be tested physically and mentally. Thereafter, your training is up to your commanding officer.'

mn..." Pixle nodded a bit, still cautious but playing along with Charlie's story, she only had to push a few times before gliding some. "well that was fast" she whispered up to the boy, keeping her head low so her hair covered her face.

@Inkstep Happr 4th of July! Hope you're doing okay. I miss you.

A luminous glow played across the soldier's eyes. Charlie read it as mishcheif and uncertainty, growing more nervous my the moment. The redhead shuffled through the doorway, neglecting to flick on the light. He grabbed the boy's hand and lead him through the darkness. 'Keep up, Girlie,' he snipped, shaking his head at Pixle. After traveling 300 yeards, the soldier came to an abrupt stop. 'Alright, we're here.' The mechinical sound of a door sliding open penetrated the silence. With a light shove, the soldier pushed Charlie into the other side of the door. Turining to the diasbled girl, he wheeled her next to Charlie. Something clicked, then the only sound that could be heard was the soft clack of the soldier's shoes. 'Pix-- I mean Elliks, something's not right.' Inching backwards, Charlie connected with metal rungs. Peering through the darkness, the brunette could make out bars of a jail cell. 'Mmmmmrrrrrfffff,' he said, pressing his mouth into his arm.

@swimforlife HAPPY 4TH!!!

Shudering a bit, she zipped up in a nervous manner, seeming a bit irked when the soldier pushed her in next to Charlie.
"Hold on" she whispered, holding her hand out flat, palm facing down, a few sparks danced from her fingers and lit the area in a dim light. "well this didn't go as we planned" she sighed, lowering her head a bit

@INKSTEP =3 BOOM. Fierworks!

'You can say that again,' Charlie said, deflated. The room was illuminated by Pixle's electrical energy, casting shadow across her face. 'This looks a lot worse than we though,' Charlie hissed, taking in his surroundings. Numeous metal contraptions lined the hallway, creating a technology grave yard. Each devise looked like it could cause death in excurtiating ways. 'No good,' Charlie stammered, linking his wrists through the bars of the cell. The faint greenish glow danced a distance down the hallway. 'You think they found out this quickly?' he questioned, voice tinged with nervousness.

@swimforlife Not here, there's a firework ban =P

"no...maybe they're just suspicious? I^ hope....I mean, we sort of just came into their territory, maybe it's like quarintine or something?" she bit her lip, her voice full of false hope.

Deleted • 4 July 2012 at 10:35 AM

@inkstep Awwww. I'm actually not sure if we're going to have any tonight.

Charlie shrugged, 'Do they really think we have some disease or something? That we're unclean animals from another planet? Okay, the latter part might be true, but I'm worried.' His eyes shifted nervously under the thick lenses. 'I hope we're not being recorded, 'cuz if so, we're screwed.'

@swimforlife hrm
mh?" She lowered her head a bit more before looking up at the unseen ceiling "well crap, you're right" she sighed and tapped her foot nervously, trying to think up a plan.

Charlie's mind worked through a logical plan. 'We should just wait here. If we're hiding with nothing to hide, they'll get suspicious.' Eyes darting back to the contraptions dotting the hall, Charlie shot a sideways glance at the girl. 'What do you think those are used for? Melting cheese and cooling ice cream I hope.' The brunette forced a weak smile, a glimmer playing across his eye, which were hidden by the lenses. Softly, the scrape of shoes against polished tiles ruptured the silence, but quickly died away.

"Who knows...." she wheeled a few inches and flicked her wrist, a loud pop and a few sparks rained from the cieling as the dark hallway lit up "to get a better look" she muttered, leaning back in her chair and looking over the machines

Metal and plastic plate machines were illuminated by Pixle's sparks. Each device varied in shape, size and means of torture. Most were comprised of belts, needles and computers screens. A few were small enough to be slipped in a pocket. A shelf towered over the large machines, housing the tiny ones. Charlie send a blast of water toward the shelf. The jet stream wrapped around the devise like a fist, then returned to the boy. It was the size of a large marble with sharp blades hunkered down in its nooks. 'I don't even want to know,' he quipped, handing the small metal ball to Pixle.

She looked over the small devise, a spark shooting from her hand and into the device which whirred to life, the blades showing themselves here and there, the device continued to spin and began to bore into the girl's hand "GAHK!" dropping itinstantly, she flicked her wrist and the spark that had livened the small device instantly returned to her hand "hrmph"

In horror, Charlie stared at the devise as it effortlessly cut through Pixle's flesh. The metal ball plummeted to the ground, skittered a bit, then returned to the girl's hand. Charlie stood, arms akimbo and mouth agape. 'Are you alright?' he mumbled, taking a set closer. The brunette cradle Pixle's hand, asecessing the dammage. 'Pi- Elliks, this is really deep.' Gently, the boy rested his palm on top of Pixle's. A cool bubbling sensation tingled between their hands. As Charlie stepped back, he could see the hole was noticably smaller.

'Not sure, really. I felt kind of instinctal- is that even a word, instinctal? Insticntual? Whatever' Charlie replied with a exegreated shrug. Slowly, he slunk into the shadowy corner and slid against the wall. Drained from his weak attempt an healing, the boy put his head on his knees and sighed.

The clack of shoes on the dingy tile floor became louder and more prominet. 'Elliks, we've got company,' hissed Charlie/Blaire, springing to his feet. The redhead with green bangs appeared, looking more and more like a tomatoe on a stringy body. Dudding him "Tomatoe Head" brought a smile to the boy's face. Subtly, Charlie coughed as the man sneered. 'Hello, Elliks and Blaire. My supervisor would like to have a word with you. Don't mind his tone or manurisims, she is a difficult woman. Especially now after....' The bolt of the cell clicked open, allowing the door to rool foward. The electrical barrier and force feilds were shut down as if on cue.

Mhk-!" Pixle shivered a bit, wheeling back just slightly so that she was next to Charlie. Looking up at him nervously, she shot him an ice cold glare for snickering "You're going to get us killed some day" she muttered with almost a joking tone. Jumping slightly as the door opened, the small girl sunk down into her seat and rested her hands in her lap
