REVIVAL AS OF 24/1/13
See note below rules!

Hidden in the shade from the bustle of the street fair was a green canopy tent. Splashed across the front in clean white letters was a single word only: FRIENDS. Out in front of the stand, scrawled in white chalk upon a little green sandwich board, were the words: Free Today Only!

The setup was humble. At the front of the tent was a modest laminate card table, covered by a canvas table cloth that was much too large. It hung off the table's edges and brushed the concrete sidewalk at the sides, coloring its edges dusty brown. The table's surface was a mosaic of various knickknacks. One shallow wooden bowl the size of a dinner plate held a great number of dime-sized gemstones. They ranged from orange-red carnelian, to glistening blue aquamarine, to banded green malachite, to translucent quartz, to deep black obsidian, to shimmering orange sunstone, to vibrant yellow topaz, to icy blue lace agate, reflective gray hematite, and subtle pink rose quartz. On another side of the table was a metal mesh rack, the kind found in bakeries or office supply stores. Arranged delicately across this rack was a small variety of charming flowers: specifically, cactus blossoms, white daisies, red roses, pink lotus blossoms, ethereal purple prairie smoke, and red poppies. On a plastic plate on the bottom rack, there was also a clump of pale green kelp.

A small section of the table was reserved for a row of crystal bottles. They each held different perfumes, their contents marked by labels and black ink. In order from left to right, they read Mint, Vanilla, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Clove, and Floral. These names were accompanied by delicate watercolor portraits of the scented ingredient.

The remainder of the table, a significant middle portion, was occupied by a wooden case with a glass top for viewing. This case held the most bizarre items, from three-centimeter-long fangs to claws of a similar length, as well as little tufts of coarse hair or soft fur, and fuzzy downy feathers from the breast of birds, and shining round fish scales as well as little iridescent bunches of scales from insect wings. The case faced the crowd proudly, though its contents were for looking and not touching. Only the owner of the key that fit its little gold latch had access to these items--thankfully, she stood right behind the table, her bright eyes following the passing crowd.

She was a short girl, with a stocky build and wavy brown-blonde hair that she kept tied up under a cherry=print hair snug. She wore a matching apron, dotted by plump red cherries with long stems and broad green leaves; her thick, fair arms remained uncovered. An easy sort of friendliness hung in the air around her, perhaps encouraged by the gentle buzzing of an old radio hanging from the tent post nearest her head.

The tent shaded far more than the table and its attendant. Behind them lay an array of odd items, from birdcages to fishbowls to orange coolers with white lids, their contents a mystery. Largest of all was the item that lay directly to the right of the table. It was an empty round brass kettle, with a long wooden spoon laid across its gaping mouth. It seemed to squat on its three short legs, gripping the earth with its clawed feet like a turtle.

The young woman eyed the sign, and then the crowd, and then a gentle smile spread over her face. If there was one allure that trumped curiosity, it was the promise of free rewards; she would have business soon enough.

I've decided that I miss this kind of roleplay. So, rather than start a new one, I decided I'd just revive my old one! Consider it a complete restart.

So, all previous occurrences are void. This roleplay is starting fresh!

'Oh, that's a cool bracelet!', Elly thought happily, 'I wonder if Shelly would like this as a present...'
Then, Elly's thoughts changed when she saw the price tag.
"Yikes." Elly exclaimed out loud, shocked at the price.
She was about to place the item back on the shelf as a thought ran though her head at lighting speed.
Glancing at the owner of the booth, who was talking to a woman a bit of the way off. Carefully, Elly opened her purse and quickly dropped the bracelet inside, and heard loud laughing just as she did.
Terror gripping her chest, she spun around to see that no one had noticed her steal the bracelet. Her heart was still pounding a mile a minute, and Elly convinced herself that the stuff they were asking so much for was overpriced anyway, and they were just ASKING to get things stolen...
"Omg! Did you like, totally see that, like that hippie tent over there? I mean like, EW, right?" "YEAH! I mean like, EW! Hehehe!"
'Ugh, preps.' Elly made a face as the group of giggling girls passed the booth Elly was currently standing at, and she immidentily forgot what she'd just taken. She did start to wonder what booth the girls had been talking about though, if the preps didn't like it, Elly was ninty-nine percent sure she was going to LOVE it.

A girl with black hair that was streamed with crimson and brilliant green eyes walked slowly down the street, though she would stop occasionally at different shops. She saw a tent with a strange feeling to it and instantly walked over to it. She walked inside and gazed at all the amazing and strange things. She had never seen a shop like this and was already liking it.

(Sorry that the post is really short but I had to do this quickly.)

The tent attendant's eyes lit up as the black-haired girl approached the table, and a jubilant smile spread over her face. "Hi there!" she greeted in a warm, peppy tone. "Are you looking for a friend? We're running a special promotion today." She held her hands clasped together in front of her, with her elbows straight. The bright smile shifted slightly into a playful, mysterious expression.

@silver_winged What's the plot?

Deleted • 20 June 2012 at 9:58 PM

@silver_winged Oh, by the way, Shaula has a British accent 😋

Shaula looked around as she walked around the fair. 'Why must Mum always send me on these horrible errands?' she thought angrily. She yawned as a bright green canopy tent caught her eye. 'What a queer tent!' she thought. Deciding it couldn't hurt her, she decided to peer in. "Hello?" she asked. She walked in and saw a young woman. "Excuse me, what is this shop?" Shaula asked.

@blackdeathkitty All right. Also, it's a canopy tent, so it's completely open on the sides. http://www.camptents.com/images/SheltersAndCot/HomeCanopy/Canopy285.jpg

"Hi there!" the young woman responded brightly to Shaula, leaning forward a bit as she did. She gave the girl a look over and then offered her a welcoming smile. "It's not quite a shop, exactly, but we do make things here."

Alex smiled, "Hello I am Alex and no I am not looking for a friend." She said and laughed, "What is this place?" She gestured around her and at all the strange things in wonderment. She looked at the girl, who seemed friendly enough, in curiousity.

@sillver_winged Oops! Sorry. Short post, I know. There will be more next post.

"What sort of things?" Shaula asked curiously. She looked down at the case and saw all of the items.

@hedwig68 @blackdeathkitty ((Sorry, I left to eat dinner. I'm back now. c: ))

The girl flashed Shaula an apologetic look before turning to deal with Alex. She had arrived first, after all. "This is my tent," she replied with simple pleasure. A sympathetic look crossed the girl's face as she continued, "But if you're not looking for a friend, then I'm afraid there's not much I can do for you. You're welcome to stay and look around though."

Then she turned to face Shaula. A slight breeze picked up and wound its way down the street, tugging at the ears of her hair tie. "Things that are made specially for our customers," she replied with poorly-concealed excitement. "These things here are just the ingredients. Would you like to try it out? It's free, just for today."
