Here's another creature suggestion- the Skrusol 😉

About Skrusol Eggs:

A dark ring orbits around the egg... or is it the tail?

More about the Skrusol:

Skrusols are mostly dependent on whoever cares for them when in their first stage, since they cannot hunt for themselves. When maturing, they learn to glide, using their dangerous whip-like tails as a steering tool and weapon.
Research shows that skrusols are close relatives of Garo and Balrogipuwets. Skrusols mostly hide away from humans, but if they know they can trust you, they could be quite obedient.
Skrusols are known to appear at the other side of the ark river at halloweens only, - known as the 'gathering season' for Skrusols - forming a dark fog on the ark river. People who hear the screech of a Skrusol when the full moon rises are known to wake up screaming from a terrible nightmare exactly 13 days after.

For colours, I would probably suggest black with blue or red, dunno why. 😋 Or black and purple.
