The Breakout

Aykay growled and transformed. As usual, her face was blank. She hadn't quite mastered facial expressions yet. There wasn't much need for them at the lab. The bat was still on her shoulder when she checked.

She crossed her arms and watched the others. The hunter seemed just a bit nervous, but that was understandable... she turned back to look at the fox, but she was gone. Excellent...

She walked over to the two hunters and saw that the unconscious one's tranquilizer was laying on the ground.

"I'll take that." She said, scooping it up. "Thanks."

She slung it over her shoulder and began to walk off.

Tessa, despite the situation, laughed. This girl was so twisted it was hilarious. "I'm getting hungry. What do you suggest we do?"

Tessa frowned, deep in thought. She had never gone hunting for food in animal form...the lab had always used them for attacking and fighting, never really training them in thier natural habitats. The thought of catching and eating a rabbit raw made her a bit sick.

"Sounds good, I just wonder where a food store is."

Katia cocked her head. 'Food store? We have no money though. We could hunt. We wouldn't have to eat the food raw but we could catch it and kill it, then cook it.' She flashed a lopsided grin, excited at the idea of killing.

@misty YES THEY DO XD ONE TIME I WAS IN MY LOCAL SUPERMARKET AND THIS DOG STOLE A PACKET OF SAUSAGES AND EVERYONE WAS JUST LIKE "lol"

Katia shrugged. 'I guess you're right. Stealing food could be fun anyway.' She smirked. 'And if anyone takes our food we can maul them to death!' She punched the air, grinning like the phsycopath she was.

Steve- the brown platypus lost in a woody forest- wandered into a clearing, before he realized that there were dangerous people about. Paralyzed in fear, he flattened his flat body onto the ground as a breeze picked up some leaves on top of him, easily camouflaging him. But the stink of seawater still clung to him as he nervously held his breath.

As she walked and talked with misty, Katia wrinkled her nose. The smell of seawater seemed to fill the air. She looked around for an explanation, cocking her head.

After Aykay had walked for a bit with the tranquilizer, he hopped off her shoulder onto the tranquilizer. His claws tightened around the metal and he flapped his wings and flew up to the branches of a tree with the weapon.

Suddenly the air was pungent with Steve. Lawl. I mean seaweed. shifting into wolf form, Tessa used her more acute sense of smell to find the source. Turning over some leaves, she saw a small Brown animal crouching there....IT WAS THE CUTEST THING SHE HAD EVER SEEN.

The platypus' eyes were wide as the wolf sniffed him out. Snapping his black bill at the freaky-looking wolf, Steve started to scramble away.

Logan leaned back as the platypus righted itself. He didn't want to get too close, lest the thing jump at his face again. Cold droplets of water or mud still clung to his scalp, and they were beginning to grow uncomfortable.

Where had all his concern suddenly come from? This thing had assaulted him! With a grunt, Logan shifted back into elk form. He stared down at the little beaver-fish-duck-thing and narrowed his eyes. He could understand animals in this form; he'd give it one last chance to explain itself.

Aykay growled as the bat took off with the tranquilizer. That thing had gone from being annoying to absolutely enraging her. Maybe the other hunter had a tranquilizer. It wouldn't be too difficult to intimidate that one...

She wandered back to where the two hunters were. It was risky, but so long as the stronger-looking hunter stayed unconscious, she should be fine.

She reached the clearing where the hunter still lay and crossed her arms.

"Hey, you." She said to the lively one. "You got another tranq? I could sure use one and if you cooperate, I'll be nice and leave."

Steve sat on its haunches and stared at the deer-moose-thing. His black eyes were not curious or fiery; nor were they dull or bright. Mud and dead leaves covered the one side of the platypus, where he was thrown. The sky above him was nearly covered with trees, but what did show through was a light blue. The sun was very slowly rising above them, and the day seemed long.

Logan might have continued his staring contest with the platypus for a long time if a wolf hadn't wandered up. The rational part of his mind screamed that it was a shifter--a true animal wouldn't part leaves with its paw so deliberately, or stare at the platypus like anything other than a threat or a fur-covered steak. However, he'd handed the reins over to his elk side.

Taking a step back, he lowered his horns to face the wolf and snorted.

Fang placed the tranquilizer on an especially big clump of leaves, before transforming back to his human form. He yawned silently and grabbed the gun. His red eyes flickered with amusement as he tossed the tranquilizer in the air, then caught it again. The gun was still about two-thirds filled with it's darts, and Fang stared down at the weapon; mulling over not what to do with it, but who to shoot, and when.

@silver_winged @skylark @ninjagirl @jupiter_hollow Eyyyy I want to make the wolf animal like Tessa so the wolf is now brown. If you are having trouble picturing a brown wolf, just search google cause they exist ;D

Tessa noticed the elk lower his head into a defensive position. Even though her animal would be known to hunt elk, those pronged antlers could do some real damage. She assumed that the elk was a shifter like her, and didn't want to cause a fight. Maybe he was with the platypus??

She held up two brown paws, an odd thing for a wolf, and shifted back into human form, so she was holding up her hands in a sign of peace. But instead of looking scared, she was grinning like a dog.

"I'm Tessa."

Steve watched the wolf, jumping back in surprise as she changed into human. Steve looked at his feet- err.. hands. Gasping in surprise, Steve clasped his hands to his mouth. He had changed into human mid-air! Opening his mouth, his tested his teeth. "Gee-" He flinched at the sound of his voice, looking around in surprise. Licking his lips, he tested his voice again. "Hello-" he stopped in mid word, still not used to his voice. "Me- Steve-" Steve coughed. "I... was stuck." He grinned oddly, as if expecting everyone to completely understand what he said.

A few steps behind Tessa, Katia silently watched the scene unfold. Everyone seemed to be turning human. She grinned. It was better than being hunted anyway. She stretched her arms, keeping quiet. The platypus had become a boy. A boy who seemingly couldn't speak English. She looked over at the Elk to see if it would change too, since everyone seemed to be. Like a new trend or something.

Steve noticed a girl behind the lady Tessa.
Everything around him seemed to slow down radically.
A light shone from behind Katia, and all of her features seemed to be intensified. She was beautiful. Her quirky short fringe accentuated her bright eyes, and her quick movements made her black hair shine. Her slender figure stood proud and tall, like a... fox.
Steve blinked and everything immediately returned back to normal. "Ohai. M'name's Stevio. Steve. S-dawg. Charlie. Yeah, call me anything you want, I don't really care hehe." He grinned sheepishly again at the no-name-yet girl.

"Ungh..."
Awakening slowly, Eytan swam out of unconsciousness, staying on the very surface for a while before cracking an eye open to look at his surroundings. The initial black spots in front of his vision cleared, making way for the landscape of treetops and merry chirping birds. Made him sick, the darned place. He preffered dark.
He growled at the pounding pain in his temples and rose to a sitting position, intending to become aware of his surroundings. Forest, trees, birds (grah!), Alexin (crying? Pathetic...), tranquilizer gun, ground, wait... One of the weapons (his own tranquilizer) was missing, he realzied after a short checkup.
Recalling the events from earlier, he growled at the realization - those damnable rats had snatched his gun...
Letting out a growl, worthy for a bear shapeshifter, he grabbed the albino's collar, sharply tugging him up and glancing at him with one of his rare trigger-happy pre-massacre looks.
"Move..." he hissed out, the other tranquilizer already in hand.

Sylvia peered out from behind a tree at the two hunters. She had been watching them since she spotted them from a distance away. The first one she noticed was the one that seemed to be crying besides the guy on the ground. The crying hunter was pale with bright blue eyes. He looked so... innocent. Sylvia decided to call him 'Day'. Her gaze fell on the one on the ground that had begun growling like a wild animal. As the guy pulled himself up, she heard him rudely say "Move". Sylvia narrowed her green eyes, pressing her lips together. She decided to call that hunter 'Night'.

A hand reached up and pulled down the hat lower over her eyes. She stepped back behind the trees, trying to decide what to do. Day and Night may have an idea where civilization was. But they might also find out she wasn't.. one of them and capture her. Before she could decide what to do, she spotted something large and hairy out of the corner of her vision. Turning to see what it was, she almost yelled out at the enormous spider on the trunk of the tree.

Sylvia took a few steps back, putting as much distance between herself and the spider as she could. A heavy boot stepped on a dry twig on the ground. The snap of the branch breaking was immediate. She whipped her head around to realize she had stepped out of her hiding place when she was stepping away from the spider. She had full vision of the two hunters, and they of her.

Sylvia held her breath, staring down at the ground so they couldn't get a good look at her face.

Aykay turned to see the other hunter getting up... the one whose weapon she'd taken only to have that idiot bat take it...

She crossed her arms, sizing him up. Unless he had hidden weapons, he wasn't really a threat without his stolen tranq.

"This is really troublesome..." she mumbled, mostly to herself. And then he had the other tranq. What a bother... She had wanted that weapon out of his hands and into hers... Now he was a threat...

"I suppose handing over that gun is out of the question now." she said blandly, trying to find an escape route. She heard a twig snap and instinctively turned to see what it was.

A girl? Could it be one of her kind?

Katia blinked at the boy. Was he staring at her? His brown eyes seemed so familiar, so comforting. Now that she looked at him, it seemed he was just as brown as the platypus he had been only moments ago. She could swear he was staring at her. Oh, and he spoke again. It seemed his English was all sorted. 'Hello.' She spoke in her soft, barely audible voice. 'My name is Katia. A-and you are Steve. Okay. Uh... Okay.' She inwardly cringed. That had gone better in her head.
