Moonbeam hears Featherstar's call while the two are walking back. I say to Brackenpaw, "Meet with me later if you still want to talk," Moonbeam rushes back to camp and meets with Featherstar, "I'm here Featherstar. Whatever you need me to do."

As the other leaders I stand up and yowl out "Let the clans gather!" I sit down and allow Moonstar to speak first. Then when Tigerclan comes to speak instead of Tigerstar I see a white she cat. "My name is Snowstar Tigerstar has lost his last life recently and I am new leader of Tigerclan." She yowled out. "Tigerclan has plentiful prey and two new kits in hte nursery." The ohter leader speaks and I stand up "We have two new apprentices in Stormclan! Sunpaw and Darkpaw neither of which could come to day. Sunpaw has been attacked by a rouge on our territory and is recovering slowly."

Brackenpaw quickly found a spot with the other cats, her tail lashing as she eagerly awaited the beginning of the gathering.

Moonbeam's thoughts rolled at the thought of a new Tigerclan leader. It seemed impossible, Tigerstar was the strongest cat in the forest. Maybe greencough got him, who new. His thoughts perked back up st the mention of the apprentices. It showed a new strength in the clan, they were getting stronger.

As the gathering ended I gathered my warriors "Come on were leaving." I mewed to them. I sprint towards our territory and walk into camp. I pad to my den and curl up ready to sleep.

The next morning I wake early and head out to patrol. When I near twoleg place I scent the rogue again. 'What did he want?' I thought darkly as I see him sitting in my territory. I hiss as I leap onto him but he dodges nimbily and I grab his scruff pulling him dow next to me.

Moonbeam wandered into the center of camp. Featherstar had taken care of the morning patrol, so that was one job down. The fresh-kill pile was fairly well stocked, it would be good to finally relax for once. Moonbeam didn't have too long though. Soon Fireclaw and himself would go out on a training session. But until then there was no harm in waiting around for a second. Moonbeam laid out in the sun and relaxed in the middle of camp.

Brackenpaw looked around cautiously before sneaking out of the camp, heading off to go hunting by herself. She knew that there was plenty fresh-kill in the pile, but she wanted to catch prey for herself. Besides, she was more than capable.

Moonbeam stretched and rose to his paws. It was about time to go hunting, "I could probably bring back a good amount by myself." He thought. He called out to Fireclaw and the two went out on a hunt. They brought down two prey each, Moonbeam was about to head back when he caught a scent from Featherstar. "What do you scent Fireclaw?" He asked. "I smell Featherstar," the apprentice said with a smile, then suddenly more worried, "and some other cat as well." Moonbeam had scented it too but it wasn't a clan cat. It had to be a rogue, and it could even be the one from the other day. "Come on Fireclaw, be ready for anything. Featherstar," Moonbeam said walking up to the leader, "is everything okay?"

I turned to my deputy Moonbeam and snarled "Of course I have everything under control." I glare at hte rogue I pinned down "But he needs time to explain himself first." I snarl at him as I drag him towards camp.

As Brackenpaw crept through the forest in search of prey, she heard a slight rustling in the bushes off to her right side. Turning to see what it was, she realized that it was either a really big rabbit, or another cat. If it was another cat, she would have to turn and run for fear of it being a rouge.

Brackenpaw kept her eyes wide and her ears turned towards the source of the rustling. As she crept closer, her pelt began to stand on end as her tail lashed back and forth. When she neared the bush, she caught the putred smell of something worse than a rouge. A badger had decided to make it's den in their territory.

Moonbeam stands outside the old nursery, should anything happen or any inquisitive cats come listening. He was there to keep the peace. No one from camp knew anything about it yet, well at least not much.

Brackenpaw turned and ran back to camp, fearing that the badger was following her. When she finally made it into camp before frantically looking for Featherstar.

Seeing the young apprentice terrified Moonbeam walked up to him, "What seems to be wrong Brackenpaw? What's all the rush?" Moonbeam cocked his head, he thought he could scent something but the scent of fear covered it too strongly.

I leap onto clanrock and summon the clan "There has been a badger discovered on our territory. We may not have known of it unless Brackenpaw told us. Now if I may Brackenpaw come forward. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and all that it means to protect your clan even at the cost of your life?" She nods and I continue "Brackenpaw from this moment on you will be known as Brackenflower. Starclan honers your scenting skills."
"Brackenflower!" The clan yowled.
"Now you will sit a silent vigil tonight."

Moonbeam watched the meeting from beside the old nursery. This badger would have to be dealt with, and the sooner the better. "Hey, you." Moonbeam said to the prisoner. "Why have you been giving us so much trouble. Don't worry, Featherstar may seem vicious at times, but she just wants to protect the clan. You can answer that if you want, but you don't have to. You'll spend the night in there tonight though, don't try to escape I'll also be here all night. We'll take care of you, for tonight at least. Tomorrow Featherstar will deal with you as she sees fit. And if you try anything shifty I'll personally see to your punishment. Remember, we're all nice and friendly here, but if you think you'll come in here and push us around; you have another think coming. Now, I'll ask once more and we can have friendly conversation, why have you been giving us trouble?"

Moonbeam looked out as the team went off, "Be careful everyone! Especially you Flamepaw, I have patrol planned with you tomorrow," Moonbeam turned back to the prisoner's room. "I don't mean that. I want to know why you attacked our apprentice. She couldn't possibly have harmed you at her age, so why attack her? As for the badger I understand, I'd like to help you and then we could both get on with our lives. Yet I can't do that if I don't know your perspective." He said to the captive.

I lead the patrol to where the badger's scent was strongest. "Stay here until I signal you guys." I hiss under my breath. Then crawl under a bush to see a badger snuffling for roots and grubs. With a loud yowl I signal the others into the set and they corner her. I leap onto her back and claw at her eyes. I am flung off and see Flamepaw and Icepaw attacking her while Sunpaw and Fireclaw nip at her legs. I did'nt see Flaretail and when looking for him I am suddenly shoved into the badger. I let out a shriek as her long blunt claws smack me in the head. Then all goes black.

I wake up to find myself sitting at the mound. I look over to see Flaretail gazing at my body. But fear and horror are not shining in his eyes. Pride and joy are. I gasp as I see m body lying limp and soon find myself surrounded by Starclan warriors. "Welcome Featherstar. You are losing your first life but fear not you will return soon and will be able to attack the badger yet again." A voice speaks from all around me. I look to see a very faint image of me pad up to the last spot in the ranks of Starclan. The next thing is the world around me spins as I return to the battle. The others never noticed Flaretail shove me into the badger. I shake off the feeling and leap onto the badgers back. After a short while she is lumbering off towards the border. I watch her cross into Moonclan territroy and sigh.

"Like I would tell you that." I hiss to the tom. "But if you must know I thought SHE was the badger."

"Okay," Moonbeam said to the prisoner. "As ridiculous as I think that sounds, I believe you. But just how did it confuse you, surely there are numerous differences between her and a badger." Moonbeam sat down outside the makeshift prison, it had been a while since the others had left and Moonbeam was feeling a bit hungry. "Hey, prisoner. Are you hungry yet, there's enough fresh-kill if you'd like some. Do you like anything in particular, fowl? squirrel?"
