Elements-

Fire: The Fire Nation is a strong, aggressive nation. Their people are usually brave, strong willed, and furious, and have a flame permanently burned into the back of their hand.

Water: The Water Tribe is determined, intelligent, and often very high strung. They care about people, but are not afraid to fight when under attack. They have a symbol of three waves behind a moon scared onto the back of their hand. (Like in AtLA)

Earth: The Earth Kingdom is a proud, strong, and brave kingdom, with great respect and power over the world. Those who control earth have a mountain scared onto their hand.

Air: The Air Nomads live above the others, as high as they can go, atop plateaus and mountain ranges. They are respectful, quick, and agile, and admire wisdom and peace above all. They are very spiritual, and teach that defense is most important. Air nomads have swirls, imitating a gust of wind, carved into their hand.

Lightning/Electricity: The Lightning Nation is quick, strong, and cunning. They are excellent at pervading, and attacking at just the right time. They all have a bolt of electricity carved into their hand.

Ice: The Ice Kingdom values strength, fairness, and cunning. They are the only people that can outwit the Lightning Nation. Ice warriors are noble, and don't accept defeat. The members of the Ice Kingdom have a pattern similar to a snowflake burned into their hand.

Plant: The Plant Tribe is elusive and tricky, but very kind, and do not wish to hurt others. Many think of them, as well as the Air Nomads, as weak. But those who have challenged the power of the Plant Tribe have found themselves mistaken. They have a tree cut into the back of their hand.

Light: The City of Light is a large, and extremely powerful city. It is the biggest city on the Earth, and they have a lot of power over the other countries. Their people are kind, and wise, but extremely powerful. They believe in doing what is right, giving second chances, and helping those who need it. Their Greek, Olympus-like city is home to many people who have a dot on their hand, that glows brighter than all other groups whenever they use their powers.

Dark: The Fortress of Darkness is a bad omen to all. Their gothic arcitecture and looming castles make people stay away. They are like vampires, never wanting to see the light of day, and are disliked by almost everyone else. Like the City of Light, they are small but powerful. The people of Darkness are thoughtful, artistic, yet merciless, and unafraid to attack. They are feared above all other nations. The people of the dark have a swirl with four dots around the outer left edge burned into their hand.

Powerless: Some people have no powers. These people have nothing on the back of their hand. They are spread equally throughout the world, and nobody judges them, so long as they do not openly show their support for another nation.


Yes, this AtLA was a huge influence on this. It is during the same time period, so they have practically the same technology. There will also be "spirits" and a spirit world, but only the Power Children can visit it. If you want to, you can think of it as AtLA, but with multiple avatars, and more elements.

The Power Children have the symbol on their right hand of the element they control, and on their left, a sun and moon symbol. Only the Power Children have the symbol on their left hand. This symbol is the reason for the name Midnight Sun, a group of Power Children all the characters will create. If you character isn't an elemental(somebody who controls one of the elements), but is a Power Child, they will have superspeed and superstrength.

Rules:
-No god modding, Gary's or Mary's, and all the basics.
-Correct grammar and spelling
-Do not post if it will only be one sentence. I expect the shortest of the short posts to have at least three. I am calling this semi-literate, because I won't be as strict as a full literate, but close.
-Characters will die, if you do, you can create a new one, HOWEVER!! you may not kill off another persons character.
-Put a smiley face in the other category.

PM me your character form and a sample of your writing. The longer it is, and the better the quality, the more likely you will be accepted. You can write a paragraph, or copy and paste something from a different RP. Also, please post your forms WITHOUT the sample paragraph on this topic.

I have decided to do as in AtLA, and call each RP, a book. They might have chapters, but that depends how much effort I want to put into it. xD As you can see, I changed the name of this thread to exclude the Midnight Sun part, because that is the name of Book 1, yet this will be the thread for all four books.

Book 1: Power Children: The Midnight Sun
The Power Children must unite, and their first goal will be to ally the Ice Kingdom and Water Tribe.

Here is a map of the world in which we will play. Yes, it is the Avatar map. While I tried to use other maps, I failed miserably because there was too much room. 😃 There is no key to the map because I like to think the map is pretty straight forward, however, if you have any questions about it, don't be afraid to ask.

P.S. Sorry it's such bad quality. I don't know why it's like that, and actively working to fix it.

I had this idea, to keep the RP from getting too boring or us not having anything to do, I'm going to make there be "chapters" to each of the books. I'm doing this because it is similar to AtLA, I like things to be organized, and I really wanted a way for this RP to stay interesting.

I will always start every chapter. I will never end a chapter. Whoever does this must put

Personality: Aelos is an energetic, carefree boy. He believes he is doing what is right, and never has any worries. Because of this, he can get into dangerous situations, and sometimes has a hard time staying on task. He doesn't like to think that he is a Power Child, or try to flaunt this fact, because he thinks of it as a bad thing.
Appearance: Aelos has short hair, like all the Air Nomads do. It it only about a centimeter long, and sticks straight up. His hair is a deep, rich brown. His hazel blue eyes are always wide open, full of energy and excitement.

Personality: Kireno is a rough, serious person. He always does what he believes is right, which is usually what the Oce Kingdom says. He is usually very quiet, but isn't afraid to speak his opinion, and tell you when you're wrong.
Appearance: Kireno's platinum blonde hair sticks up like icicles from his face. He has icy blue eyes, that you would think can pierce your chest just by looking at them. His skin is fairly pale, and he always wears his kingdoms pale blue robes.

Gender: Male
Age: 19
Personality: A generally level-headed persona, easy-going and relaxed, unless in danger. He's made of grounded nerves and calm movements, unlike the spontaneous and dangerous nature of his element. Decisive, an expert problem solver and helpful in many aspects, hence his intelligence. Capable of keeping himself anchored in heated situations, calm and leveled, albeit not yet having mastered his unstable powers, which limits his abilities greatly but provides him with control. Despite his sedated personality, he's quite social and kind to friends and allies alike. Quite loveable.
Appearance: Sporting an average height of 6'2 and a slim, but lean build. Possesses the long legs of a runner, physical flexibility and 'lightning-fast' reflexes. Thin shoulders and well-defined chest, his generally athletic body lacking any chiseled muscles, so as to not hinder his speed (which he treasures most out of all traits). Chin-lenght platinum blonde hair twisted in light curls, often tied in a short ponytail at the back of his head. A pale complexion and dark lapis lazuli eyes (probably warmer than any color of such saturation should be) standing out on the background of his light features. Has two moles near the corner of his right eye, both dispositioned to look like a rim. Has a redenned nose.

Other: Capable of aiming a precise attack, which may lack intensity or strenght, but is sure to hit its target vitally. Evidently, Isak's powers are ineffective against fast or evasive enemies. 😊

Name: Nostromo
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown (although he's roughly 18)
Appearance: Height of 6'5, usually standing out from the crowd (if he would ever stand being around people...) with his thin frame and slender limbs. A foreign hue of white-gray paints his drab skin, making him seem outwardly dead. Eyes are a dark hue of yellow, also seeming muddy and clouded, without any pupils whatsoever. His fingertips are a darker color, finishing with short obsidian-colored nails, matching his black hair. His body is speckled with ancient runes, painted permanently into his arms, legs, his neck and chest. On the very top of his forehead is set a large dot, descending downwards into smaller and smaller dots, all a blood red color.
Personality: Surprisingly calm for a person who lives in the Fortress of Darkness. He is polite and gentle, made of foolish kindness and shy smiles despite the land that he inhabits. He cannot be classified as 'evil' nor bad in any way, but the darkness stored in his soul is gradually dementing him and darkening his spirit despite his fervent sruggles to remain good.
Element: Darkness.
Other: I don't remember what I was supposed to put here and after that post, I don't even care... about like... anything. *dies*

Name: Sabata
Gender: Used to be a female and sometimes acquires the appearance of one, so... female, I guess.
Age: X
Personality: She's incapable of speaking, nor thinking all that much, since she is a creature of darkness literally made of an unstable matter. She can barely speak, seeing as her ashes aren't solid enough to form plausible voice chords, so if she does think something, it's mostly left unheard. She sticks around her sister mostly, often clinging either to her or to her master -- in which case clinging means wrapping herself around them passive-aggressively and 'hugging' or entering their forms and nearly choking them to death. Needless to say, she does the similar to all her opponents, which turns to be more deadly than when it's done to a darkness elemental. During her 'life' she hated the Emperor and later, her sister for being on the Emperor's side and despite being under Inaki's control, she sometimes shakes that off and attempts to actively kill either.
Appearance: What she basically looks like is a mass of black dust (presumable ashes) that is capable of moving around and reshaping itself, sometimes even to acquire the girl's features before she was burned, which gives the creature some human appearance. Some hard pieces, mostly coal, are present in Sabata's mass, which she incorporated into herself so as to provide more strength for her. The attacks she delivers are definitely more severe with something solid mingled amidst her ashes and dust.
Element: Darkness
Other: Sister of Minevra; rebelled against the Emperor's rule and was burned for her disdain towards him, which turned her into what she is now, completely under her hated one's control and with her sister doing nothing to aid her condition.

Gender: Female
Age: X
Personality: She's loyal to a fault, and it's definitely a fault as long as the Emperor is the subject of her loyalty. She's very much intelligent and more resourceful in a fight than her sister. She's become as deadly as the emperor himself, what with being his first turned elemental, as well as a willing one. Worships the ground he walks on despite him having her sister burned for her disobedience. She's quite the merciless killer, despite having a beautiful and innocent appearance, sans the horns. She's... surprisingly noble and aristocratic -- often kind to her 'kin' despite acting superior to them. And even though it's entirely true that she is, her pride exceeds any human standarts. However, since she's Inaki's favourite, he doesn't scold her for it.
Appearance: She has richly tanned skin, despite the time spent indoors, with an average height and a strongly built body. Her hair is black and wavy, reaching the middle of her back, with a majority of it either clipped up or wrapped around the pair of dark horns protruding from the sides of her head. She has the general appearance of a demon, with the sides of her eyes bearing her seal of darkness. Whiskey-colored eyes, much like Nostromo's.

@skittlejg You're welcome? xD Thank you for the cool RP by the way. Also, can you go a little more in depth about the general formation of Midnight Sun? And how our characters would meet. I'm aware that the characters of the same tribe would communicate only between each other, sicne they have no contact with the rest, but how would that contact be later initiated. Why does the Midnight Sun group get formed and do we get to have a villain? =3 And yes, I know that the Knigdom of Darkness can be villanous but I doubt they would be the main villains, because it would be cliche, if anything.

Also, since the first season is about Ice and Water (same element, different state), the second about Plant and Earth (again, similar element), and the third about Light and Darkness (two elements that have a connection to each other; Light and lackthereof, which is darkness). What I'm saying is, Lightning and Fire, the two most deadly and dangerous elements, again similar elements, both spontaneous and dangerous in their intensity. I feel like those two tribes would be the most diffcult to convince to join, so maybe last season?

Although if what you meant by 'seasons' is actually centering the RP around only ice tribe characters or water tribe character, then... I don't think that would work so well. But I'm assuming that the seasons would be centered around members of the Midnight Sun which are part of a tribe attempting to try to get their entire tribe on their side, right?

@jupiter_hollow Yes, the Fortress of Darkness is going to be evil, but not the main villain. Also, the City of Light is going to be similar to Ba Sing Se, or even the Ministry of Magic, in the fact that it seems all good and happy, but secretly isn't...

I didn't think of that! That's a good idea, I'm going to save Lightning and Fire until the fourth 'season'.

Yes, the main characters are going to be the members of the Midnight Sun. 😃 But during their first season, they will go to the Water Tribe and Ice Kingdom in attempts to ally them. 😃

I'm not sure how they will form. I have an idea, but its not very good, so if you have one, tell me. The Midnight Sun won't necessarily be fighting anybody in particular (in the begging, at least.) They will just try to get all the nations that they can on their side to stop the war.

Also, I will probably have something to tell you who is allies and enemies in the war. 😃

Yea, you can make more than one character. 😃

And they will probably try to turn them good, as well as fight them. So they'll do both, I don't know if they will take down the Fortress or ally it in the end, though.

And yes, I'd love for you to make the Emperor of Darkness, as I've just decided he shall be called. 😉

@skittlejg Oh, so trying to ally all of the tribes! That'd be a plausible reason, yes, but what about your idea? The one you don't think is good but I may beg to differ. In general, since our characters are pretty young by standard, then it would maybe be harder to make them meet. If you manage to get two/more characters of each tribe, then we won't have to rush the meetings, since everybody will have someone to RP with, but otherwise, we'll have to think this up... I'm sure if you involve everyone in the decision making at least someone will have an amazing idea.

I was thinking of maybe involving the Empror of Darkness into all of this? Since I'm sure not all dark elementals are evil, perhaps the Empror had soething to do with it becoming the most feared and hated nation? Also, rise of the Emperor? Idk, I was thinking about this long hibernating demon that stirrs after a few undred years of sleep. wouldn't it be cool if the Fortress of darkness was maybe the tomb of the Emperor and the nation itself were chosen people that guard him, as in make sure he is kept sedated and sleeping. They make sure he's harmless in general, but eventually he wakes and corrupts his keepers, taking control and stainingthe soul of every being that so much as cross the boundarie of his territory. And to contray the Darkness, the Ministry of Light was build long ago and all that?

Tell me if you like any of the ideas, I'm just babbling here. Ignore my personality in general if nothing catches your eye xD

Also, it would be interesting if a dark elemental, that struggles with his/her inner corruption appears. I imagine such a character being like a schizophrenic, partially good and partially evil xD It'd be funny =3

The problem is, unless we all have five characters, I don't think we could get two people from each nation.

Well, I was thinking they could have a dream where they're in the spirit world and they all see each other, and then they would know what they look like. But I have no idea where to go from there. Or maybe if they are asleep at the same time, they could meet each other in their dreams, and they they'd know where the others are.

I love your idea about the sleeping Emperor, and maybe at the end of season (or Book, as they call it in Avatar) 3, they could defeat the Fortress of Darkness, and then the Emperor would flee to the Fire and Lightning Nations. I don't know if this is a good idea, but I don't want them to JUST be fighting the Emperor, they need to be fighting one of the nations too, who the Emperor is controlling or allied with. 😃 And how about this entire time, it was the Emperor who started the war, and the people of darkness are actually good. They put the Emperor to sleep when he started the war. 😃 😃

Personality: Mala is quite the spirited one. She loves to bend. When her friends are troubled or hurt, she'll try her best to cheer them up. She is horrible at keeping secrets, and usually slips them out easily. Mala will do anything to protect the Water Tribe, and is very loyal when it comes to trust and friends. She somehow dislikes the Fire Nation very much, but she will still help those in need. Mala never gives up, no matter what.
Appearance: Mala has dark black brown hair that reaches down to her shoulders. She usually wears it in a bun, but likes it down. Her eyes are a pale dark green and her skin is sort of tanned.

@skittlejg Hrm, well I'm sure to be making a darkness character later on xD I've got him planned out anyways.

YES! That could work grandly. They're the Power Children after all. A selected few that hold great power! This brings me to the thought, they're stronger when they're together, am I right? They create a bigger force when allied, gaining and giving each other strenght and energy, power and all that? Right?
So perhaps through the power of the seal on their left hand, they're capable of communicating with each other =P And since dreams may be a bit usual, maybe some would get dreams, other would get short visions, strange sensations and all that. I just imagined one of the power children dreaming of the others and not remembering it and then drawing from her/his imagination and drawing the other children without knowing it =3 It'd be cute.

Anyways! That's exactly what I was saying, the people of darkness were intiially good, before Inaki came. Now, the name Inaki means fiery and ardent btw. So I have this theory of him initially being a fire bender... Hence why he's so agressive, but then, after letting his fire consume him and literally becoming bent on taking control over the fire nation and attempting to lead it to destroy the other nations, he was destroyed, turned to ashes. He rises, however, quite like a phoenix, but instead of fire, he's now clad in darkness. While he is still weak, the nations manage to bind him to slumber and made a decrepid fortress where his coffin would rest, placing keepers around the place. The fortress was not yet known as the fortress of darkness and the nation of darkness did not exist. (I'm thinking the nation of dark would sort of be artificially created by the Emperor). Emperor awakes, lets his darkness spread, having regenerated and strenghened all these years, and blackens the land he is bound to. So now he seeks to expand, to reach the other nations and attempt to take them over. I'm planning this character, Nostromo, which would be hindered and will not be able to properly communicate, neither will he be able to leave the fortress and join the Midnight Sun, but he will be their inside man, appearing in their dreams briefly, in bursts, and warning them, guiding them through the way and telling them about dangers.

EDIT: So after the emperor expands (if he does so before his fortress is destroyed), then he'd go straight towards the fire nation for revenge =P

But instead of going to the Fore Nation for revenge, he goes to take his rightful place on the throne. 😉

Literally enslaves the nation, taking his rightful place on the throne and obliging each and every rebellious fire bender be put in their place, since I'm sure there will be a lot of rebels. So maybe the fourth season would be that, Emperor becomes powerful enough to walk in the light, while the Midnight Sun try to convince the Lightning nation to join them. Last season - trying to free the fire nation =3

Personality: Nice, calm and straightforward, is pretty weak, and it's not hard to just start your power and kill her immediately. Though she is pretty sleek and is very good at camouflaging, from here and there. A pretty easy way to approach her is to walk right towards her and defeat her. A bad way is to approach her is to set up a trap. Young and weak, she is a pretty easy prey.
Appearance: Long blonde flowing sunny hair, so many think she is from the lightning group, earth group, or the light group. Her blue eyes make people think differently, thinking she is from the water group. They are the same colour as the lake when the light is shimmering on the lake. A pair of skinny legs and bony body, with a strap of a green gown outfit thing and a belt with green shoes.
Element: Powerless.
Other: 😊 lives in the light nation.

She has creepy violet eyes. She stands at about 4' 2", and has pale white skin. She has bright red lips, and straight white teeth. Levi wears a black tank top, black cargo pants, and black combat boots.

@skittlejg Of course! but he won't be a fully consistent character until some time later. I have a form for him already, though.
And perhaps starting from their dream would be nice? Nostromo can flicker on and off, appearing for just enough time so as to inform them of the situation with the Dark Emperor?

mm, I feel like this isn't a good idea, maybe we can ping and involve the other RPers and ask them?
