Uhm...the stats are going crazy

Uhmm...I'm not sure how to explain this clearly but the stats on my critters reset to zero, and then suddenly counts up to the correct number.

Also, the Happiness level keeps pulsing.
Even though it states that the happiness level is 40, the bar would keep on pulsing and then quickly bounce to 100...

Is this only happening to me? I thought the number counting thing was a new thing, but then I saw the happiness meter going crazy.

Edit:
• Had reset firefox, stats are still weird
• Cleared everything, stats are still weird
• Doesn't matter who I feed, stats jump everywhere.
• Did not have this problem in the morning.

Is this suppose to happen? o.o

Edit2:
Found out that this is a stat counter thing (I think) ; however, the happiness level still bounces. For example, if it says happiness 40 of 100, it'll bounce everywhere (10 to 50 back down to 20, and goes up to 100)... O_O

I just checked this out, and it's doing it to me as well.
I'm on my iPad, using Safari.
I just went to my Rie, and everything was zero except feeds (293 feeds, everything else. 0)
My happiness counter did that weird thing as well

Thanks for reporting this in.

The happiness bar should not be pulsating anymore. It should be completely fixed, actually. Write me back and let me know if it's behaving correctly now.

With regards to stats, we've added a kind of animation effect to the number that counts up from 0 to what your creature's stats are. Does to appear to be functioning properly now?

Still not. I cleared my cache, restarted my computer and clicked one of my Elges. The stats were correct but the feed bar was white, when the happiness was 100%.

I go back to my Rie and click it, and the stats start at zero, then a second later jump to correct status
My feed stat is being a little weird
I refreshed it three times and the numbers varied each time
1. 318
2. 308
3. 318

Don't know why

Mine is suddenly doing this as well. Every stat starts at zero and then counts up to the correct number in a few seconds. When I try to feed creatures for other users who have high statted pets it causes awful lag. Hope this is fixed soon, it's going to make it impossible to feed on slower computers. My internet speed is decent but it is still a nuisance... ☹️

My views and clicks now reset to zero (and doesn't count up; it stays at zero), but my feeds are fine. Happens to multiple critters o.o

@Ian As a user that struggles to cope with the constant influx of animated and flash content I'm finding this 'update' to be distressing, and makes it hard to click - can we at least please have an option to turn it off permanently if it is retained?


also opening multiple tabs returns 'normal stats', and then zero views-zero clicks-normal feed stat values

Mine stay at zero unless I refresh most the time but sometimes I don't have to. And as gatheringrosesinsnow asked, would it be possible to have an option not to have it. They're a bit fast when they do work or I refresh to see stats and they make me a little dizzy :c

@iceiceice - Wow, I just noticed this. I tested out the animation thing on my Snawler, and the zero stat thing is happening to me too, but with only views. Sometimes, her views are normal, but sometimes they're at zero. The feeds and clicks tend to be a little off the actual number. I'm not sure if the views vary, as I wasn't really paying any attention to them.
@Ian - I don't really think this is a great idea, to be honest. My actual internet speed is decent, but my brother's tablet tends to lag at unexpected times. My own tablet is very, very slow. Especially when it comes to the internet. This stat animation thing makes my brother's tablet lag a little. I have yet to try it on my own.
At least, like what Gatheringrosesinsnow said, if you keep this, then you should have the option to turn it off.

My stats show a number that seems about right, reset to zero almost immediately, and count up to a different number. Then when I refresh, neither the first or second number is the same.

If either its a glitch or a new change, I really dont like it. My connection is already slow, and this makes feeding my own cove really unbearable. What should take 10 minutes takes much longer.

I have actually waited until arriving at work before posting here, because I wasn't sure what was due to my actual connectivity issues, and what was a real problem.
Apparently, all of it is because of the glitch.
When I open a creature in a new tab, views and Clicks are at zero, only feeds have a different number. If I reload the page, the Feeds number changes, and they also show up in both of the other stats.
BUT! if I keep reloading, Views keep growing. Clicks keeps changing (sometimes, even going down) while Feeds are the only stat that is consistent.

Also (and this is just MHO), the animation of the bar is quite annoying, and just makes harder to feed to those with slower connections :/
Please, if the animation stays, could we have at least the option to turn it down?

this makes me lag so much now. as you normally open 10 crits to feed, the page stays white for a wee bit before it even loads now, then it doesn't take account that i've clicked 'feed' until the stats have finished counting up, so now it's taking longer to feed. :J

also, mine just randomly jolts from different stats on my creatures, like what other people have been saying too.

like @birggitt said, I hope we have an opportunity to turn this off, it's like adding stuff to something where there isn't any need too...

I'm having most of the same issue. Most of my eggs (both accounts) are showing zero on the clicks and views, but normal feed numbers. A few are zero on all stats. And a few are perfectly normal. I'm not having the changing number issues others are having, however. Nor is my feed bar jumping all over the place. Perhaps because I have my creatures all booked with Tim and their feed stat stays at 100? Not sure. Was a thought.

Also, I agree with @gatheringrosesinsnow about the option to turn off animation. While I have a relatively fast connection, it's still irritating. Doubly so since I have little time to be here each day as it is and like to track the stats on several of my creatures. As it is now, I open multiple tabs, click feed, glance at the stats, close tab, repeat with next until finished. Some of the creatures I'm tracking have pretty high stats, therefor it takes longer for those stats to load and slows down my whole process. Very annoying.

Just my two cents worth. 😊 But thanks a ton for doing everything you can to keep this site growing more and more awesome. It's much appreciated and likely not said nearly enough. ❤️

It's surprisingly working rather well for me, the counting up and bar animation.

However, it randomly hardly works at all and causes a lot of lag?

The happiness bar is pretty smooth, but the numbers kind of jump around at random before settling on the actual number. They also sometimes stay at zero.

But I know it's a work-in-progress, and it is neat.

So good luck on fixing it all, Egg Cave team 😋

I've got the same problems. I think it's really quite universal for those of us with slower computers. @Ian please give us an option to turn it off. It really takes too much from my computer to make feeding very feasible for more than two or three minute bursts, which is quite annoying.

Yes I just noticed I also have several creatures who have higher feeds than clicks. It's kinda upsetting me because a lot of them are creatures I have linked offsite for the purpose of getting clicks instead of feeds, so I'm wasting currency on other sites to get clicks that aren't even being counted. Wish I realized this ahead of time so I could have removed the links... :/

I'm really hoping the clicks that I've gotten between this time will be added to the total as they should have been. I'll be pretty bummed if they aren't. ☹️
