Only once have I ever gotten an egg that was a living creature that the price was under 100,000. I totally felt lucky! Most living eggs I have found there are the really expensive ones. Even then you are taking a chance but not as much as if you buy one that is under 100,000. That's my experience though, might be different for other players. But I have gotten so many great creatures over the years from the Thief Shop. You either jump up and down with joy or you want to find out where he lives so you can get your ec back... lol.
