About Aerin eggs:

Aerin eggs emit a strange glow that makes you want to take it home and care for it until it hatches. The eggs are cold and looks pretty normal, exept for the long antenna that pulses with white light whenever something comes near.



More about the Aerin:

Aerins live deep under the ocean, deeper than the deepest anyone has ever gone before. That's why it's so hard to come by the creature. They are extremely shy, avoiding contact with anyone, even their own kind. Because they were so hard to come by, People thought Aerins were just myths until they saw other ocean creatures caring for the eggs.

What makes Aerins stand out from other deep sea creatures is that they have an antenna-like light to help them survive. Aerin eggs use this light to trick other creatures into taking them and care for them. That's why Aerins don't need to care for their own eggs. The parents actually leave immediately after their egg is born, and swims away. This is a unique way of parenting only Aerins can be capable of. The research center has been experimenting with Aerin lights, and have concluded that the lights control emotions. It is able to control other's emotions into feeling sorry for Aerin eggs and thus tricking them into taking care of them.

As the Aerin grows up, more lights grow from the head, and Aerins become more powerful at controlling emotions. They begin to express a diversity of colors from their light, each color a different emotion. Their ability to control other creature's emotions dies down, and they become more intent in the act of helping creatures feel better by influencing their negative emotions into positive ones.

Really cool description though, I'm guessing it must be some kind of fish? Love that ability to control emotions, on an unexpected creature as well! And without using songs/vocalization, which is usually the case.

How do the parents prevent themselves from being tricked by their eggs into caring for them? Are they immune to the lights of their own species?

In the description where it says it avoids contact with others and it's own kind, you could also put that is why the creature is so rare. Since after all, it seems quite hard to match up a pair together xD

Wow, after seeing the image I really want one. A sea unicorn with an unconventional horn. I love its design, well done. That's so cool and cute at the same time. Saw the added info too, lol. Great! The Aerin is such an interesting spin on sirens and unicorns, and the depths of the ocean.

I got the idea off of a deep sea fish called the anglerfish, and combined it with a sea unicorn type of creature! I'm really grateful everyone seems to like the design. 😊
