back after so long, what'd I miss?

hey there! most of you probably won't remember me, but hi, I'm firedawn, I was a pretty active member of this site a few years back (think 2015~2016) before I semi-hiatused and kinda quit. but now I'm back :')

sorry if this isn't the right forum for this -- but I have some questions to ask. firstly, about VEND -- so are rare creatures being re-released? how are the creatures being chosen for re-release? also, how is the state of eggcave right now, if anything? thank you!

would love to get to know you all! (or, re-get to know you all :'D) and i hope this is the place for it haha.

@firedawn I'd say the state of Eggcave is pretty good, creatures are being re-released pretty responsibly so it's not been total chaos. Welcome back! ^^

As for how creatures are being chosen for re-release, I'm not entirely sure, there havent been any votes for what people want to see--yet anyway.

@budgie - Thank you! I'm trying to get VEND tokens right now, and yes, I think it is done quite responsibly - due to the hardness of it all haha. A thought just passed my mind—is it possible to buy/sell tokens?

Just curious about the Hallowolf, which was retired from VEND yesterday - how much tokens was required for that set?

Well hopefully a voting system would be implemented—that would be great and pretty beneficial :')

@firedawn Oh, not yet--would be interesting seeing that in the future. The Hallowolf pool was 50 tokens of both Going Global and Speed Reading, I think.

@budgie Ah, thank you! Yeah, I figured the Hallowolf would've been pretty hard to get :') Also, is there anything else new recently? (ie... I don't remember the toy drive but that might just be me.) or, for the lotteries, is it hard to get/impossible or?

@firedawn Aside the VEND machine, I think the only other things are the Toy Drive and Lottery--though I've been on hiatus for awhile too ^^"

The Ark Victory Day celebration might be new, too, I'm not sure if you were active when it first happened

@budgie They do sound interesting though! A way to get CSP creatures without having to buy CC's always a plus. And haha lots of people seem to go on hiatuses nowadays :')

Ark Victory Celebration -- I don't actually think I remember this -- is it related to the Asteriod Event in 2016? What goes on there? XD

@firedawn It is, during Ark Victory Celebration you can make steal attempts at the asteroid every 30mins or so, and like the Advent Tree you can get presents too ^^

Hey friend! Glad that you're back! 😃
So basically the vend machine means that you need to collect all the required tokens from questing (buying specific items and giving them to the person who runs that quest) and exchange them for pets which change at random times of the year.

As for the community, I have realised that it is a lot harder to trade now compared to earlier on. I used to be able to easily find a trade but now I get like 1 good trade each 6 months... Its pretty pathetic tbh. And people try to rip you off sometimes but mostly they just won't seem to let go of their pets XD

@kdxu Well it certainly does feel less active. I mean I can literally get Thief Shop (mystery eggs) now passing by whilst before I had to stalk and snipe xD

@wild_wonders Thanks for the explanation! VEND sounds fun, have you gotten a creature from it yet? And hearing that about trades is somewhat disheartening tbh. 1 every 6 months sounds kinda sad. And ripping off... :\ well at least there's creature value guides nowadays I hope? less ripping off going on 😊

@budgie Yeah same I think. I remember it being super active before, like a post a minute maybe? The atmosphere just feels slightly more... dead? I'm not sure why, but now it's like 30 mins/1 post. But maybe VEND can keep the newbies and the hiatus-returning players around. < I mean, it sure has me for a while lol.

IDK if your question of 'how are the creatures being chosen for re-release?' has been answered yet or not, but the answer as of now is that only creatures from the Cave are subject to re-release through VEND right now. 😊
The Hallowolf was at the cave, then the cash shop, which is why it was re-released. 😱
My biggest hope with the VEND (along with many users) is that the Tine will be a pick in February some year. 😃 Because they where exclusively from the cave.

The VEND prize pools retire when they see the population drop to a certain degree and depending on circulation of the creatures.

And wow, the Tine! I mean, on one hand that would be completely amazing but on the other I feel like some other users may revolt...? (But then again, I don't think that there are much that dislike getting a Tine lol!)

ATM I'm not sure on the Balrog. They where originally obtained by the Ghosty plot (2009), not the cave; then re-released to every user by cash shop in 2011.
I don't think event creatures are currently VEND-able????? 😱 But I'm not a mod who knows these things or plans for the future so... xD

Possibly. 😋 I can definitely see users who traded an arm and a leg getting annoyed, but IDK. 😋
I wonder how much the price would drop on them, I mean, users who are newer won't know how much they where worth in the past, so might sell it cheap. But there is a possibility that due to demand they'd still be fairly high in value. 😱
And yeah, lol. I think the happiness of users who wanted a tine for so long will overwhelm the amount of people who don't want it re-released.

Oh that's interesting. So does the Cave ones include Foos/Florns/Roos? if so i think i have to seriously reconsider my trading choices... Ah well 😋

I mean, I feel like that it'll still be high in value seeing that the VEND quests are pretty hard (well, not hard exactly but you'd have to build up an item collection AND THEN some more... I sorta regret using my travels now 😋 -- I mean, it's only the CSP ones that can be removed+returned, right?), and yeah, I can understand. I mean, if I had a Hallowolf and it got rereleased I would get slightly miffed as well.

True. I mean, really, what's the point in keeping them to themselves if it'd make so many people happy? If it did come to frution and I did manage to get one... let's say I would've died and ascended to like heaven lol. xD

Lol same, so many items I used on item collection. ;c; On the hallowolf, I have one, I traded ~7k for. 😋 With the VEND, I think VEND Hallowolves are being sold anywhere from 1-3kcc. (IDK if original dates are worth more, just like 2009 balrogs, foos, ect)But I'm pretty sure they will be out of the vend long enough for demand to drive value up some.

XD XD I'm just super thankful to the users who have gifted me some of the more high value cave retirees as gifts. ;3; (Oh gosh, I might've died of some big regrets on some. 😋)

Now when I'm trading/looking for WL, I always consider which might come to the VEND some time in the future, and really consider if I wanna pay the current worth to get it now, or wait.

Yeah. I just... regret it kinda lol. Currently I have a quest that requires Travels I think and when I got it I got so excited cause I recognised them both and thought I had them in my Strongroom or something... turns out I didn't and it was on my creatures lol. And, :') with what they're releasing I kinda get you haha. I don't think a lot of people care about original dates tho, I'm supposing it's more of a ''added bonus'' thing. Were 2009 Barlogs/Foos worth more tho? 😱 And yeah, I think maybe a while after it'll get to maybe 5k CC? I think I'll try and purchase myself a VEND Hallowolf but I can't really find any for sale :')

Oh, definitely grateful for all them wonderful users that had gifted me creatures! :') They're amazing haha, just amazing. ❤️

Yeah, I'd regret. xD IDK if I'd be angry though. Just regret past choices, lol. xD

I'm in the pool of I don't really care if it's original date or not, so long as it's what I'm seeking. xD I know at some point 09 balrogs and foos where worth more, but that might've been 2013-16. (IDK when, I just remember there was this boom in wanting it for some time)
I will say that the VEND tag (just like if it was frozen) on VEND creatures is something that I don't personally like, cause it's super noticeable, and I like simple layouts. 😋 That is the only thing that'd make me seek out a non vend creature. 😋

Yeah, not really anger. Moreso... just regret lol. :') Just looking at my past trades and stuff and regretting them. I mean, what type of idiot does 2 Dongelics for a Drakomo? xD

I think most people are in that pool -- I am too. Because the release date's like the last thing you'd look at in a creature - well, unless it's on a special date like Release Date or a Birthday or something (but those are usually private) - then it wouldn't really matter. Huh, that's interesting though. I've never experienced a boom–though I feel like that people started caring less for older creatures and moreso recent CSP ones? 😋 I mean Slyverns are now for, what, 3k CC even though I could've bought one for 500 CC when it was first released. Ah well. 😋

Oh true. I saw the VEND tag and I guess I'd understand if it was slightly off-putting. Like, I'd rather trade w/ a non-VEND Hallowolf rather than a VEND one. Not sure why though.

Oh wow! CSP re-releases?! And yes please xD I've missed out on so much I wanna buy em at the end and I don't wanna regret it now lol! 😃
