Egg Description: Photra eggs boast exquisite golden designs, the same designs that will adorn hatched Photras. Photra eggs are surrounded by shadow. This shadow, however, is not threatening, and it does not emanate animosity and unease. This shadow softly radiates warmth and care, quiet friendship and guardianship; a life bond. The shadows surround and protect Photra eggs, shielding them from predators. It is said that the shadows surrounding Photra eggs have a mystical ability; they can warp the vision and minds of predators, hiding Photra eggs from the perception of predators.

Creature Description: Photras are elegant, loving creatures. They make excellent pets, craving any cuddles and attention that their owners send their way. They are so loving, in fact, that they forge a friendship once thought impossible. A hatched Photra possesses a remarkable ability; they can communicate with their shadow. Photra shadow-cats are guardians, watching their friend's back and keeping them company. The Photra and her shadow have been said to be the closest bond that has even been formed.

Because shadow-Photras can sense ill will and malice towards their counterpart, Photras often use their shadows as an extra pair of eyes. The shadows warp reality in the minds of predators to hide and guard their Photra friend from danger. The extraordinary bond has even lent itself to Arkian linguistics! Citizens of Ark have adopted sayings like, "They're as close as a Photra and her shadow!" as well as calling loved ones their "Photra shadow."

@purple17 @izziebee1017 You guys are back at it AGAIN with your amazing creature suggestions (honestly, I’m probably going to make a hoard of them on my side account when they get released!) The art, idea, the description.... It really need to become actual creature we can get ASAP or I’m going to have withdrawal symptoms T-T (and also your guys previous suggestions too, I’m betting on the Hyacine to come out on April/May... and the Photra to come out in Septemberish... hopefully...)

Oof, reading that makes me sound like a cringey 13 y.o. but honestly, it conveyed my feelings 100% when I finished reading the description and the actual art o.o

I got major Lunar New Year/Maneki-Neko vibes when I first saw this one- and I've only just noticed the detail with the shadow in the third & fourth stages, which is really subtle and such a nice touch! Always love it when people come up with ingenious ways to weave their ideas into Ark lore- it really shows how much you care. You two are so talented, at this rate you'll have a portfolio! Keep up the good work!

I'd say the 2nd stage is my favorite, but all the stages look so cute
