This has been mentioned multiple times by multiple people, but it doesn't seem anything has been done to fix it. It seems the 'what species should be unvaulted' list just pulls anything marked Cash Shop Park in the archives, without consideration to any other designation (if it was in the cave before moving the CSP, for example). Which means users may be wasting their votes on a creature that isn't actually eligible for unvaulting. I don't know coding so I don't know what it takes to fix something like this, but it seems like *something* should be changed. It's awesome that we can now vote on what creatures should be rereleased, but we shouldn't have to double-check every archive entry to make sure what's in the list is actually eligible. (As a newer user I'm having to do that a *lot* simply because I'm not familiar with the older creatures.)@Ian @Meteoroid ?

Agreed. Orderedchaos said in the December re-release blog post:"The voting list is generated by pulling any creature with the correct "month" and "csp" tags. This means some cave creature that were also available in the CSP (like crw creatures) get added to the list when they shouldn't be"And my immediate thought after reading that was, "Okay soooo where is the editor? Is there not a human that double checks the list that was created by the system? If the system pulls EVERYTHING and hasn't been coded to pull CSP only, and pulls anything with CSP, then where is the human to check the list? If the person doesn't know how to program it to "if CSP and Cave tags, do not pull" or "only pull when sole tag is CSP" or whatever then you need someone to check the computer's work.

@heatherm19 Okay yeah, but I would really like the Kitep or the Blobbart to be rereleased. They've become insanely valuable since their release, but they are ineligible to be rereleased?

yas thank you saph for the pingDefinitely agree on this — even as an older user (although one that's taken a long break in the past) there are many creatures that I can't remember the precise initial release details of. I ended up voting for a creature that wasn't eligible to be rereleased, which is on me for not thinking to check the archives before voting, but it would also help if, you know. The voting options were accurate in the first place. Anyway, I think it could save us all a lot of time and annoyance if this could be fixed ^^not sure if this ping will work but edit: @spookyfrog I think those two would be eligible for VEND instead!

@heatherm19 @daisycat I have brought this up to Ian before and I can bring it up to him again. I still don't know why he hasn't fixed it.@spookyfrog Creature Release Week creatures (like both of those you mentioned) can be rereleased in the VEND.

@heatherm19 VEND and CRW creatures have been removed from the sidebar list. Thanks for pointing this out.

@ian I appreciate that this is being looked into, but I can't vote for creatures like arnmnae or pixgog anymore now after this change, it says event/plot in the archives but weren't those CSP exclusives during the CRW of that year?
Orderedchaos • 1 December 2023 at 2:37 PM
@isis They have been readded and the Chiye has been removed.

@Orderedchaos @Ian So this is still an issue, almost every month there are creatures available to be voted on that shouldn't actually be eligible for rerelease. From what I've understood, creatures that were available in the cave first and then the CSP shouldn't be eligible, right? And yet this month's poll includes Goblar, Halldrag, and Noctiandy, all of which were available in the cave according to the archive entries and old blog entries.I feel like there *should* be some way to code to only pull from archive entries that *only* show CSP, right? I mean this shouldn't be something that has to be fixed manually every time it's mentioned, right?(I just feel like the voting feature is so great but also sorta-kinda worthless if it's constantly allowing users to throw their votes away on creatures that aren't even eligible...)

@heatherm19 Thanks again for reporting this. The list of ineligible creatures have been removed from the poll and will be in future months, too.
