About Silligoose Eggs
Isn’t this egg just the silliest thing you’ve ever seen? Nestled safely in a bowler hat, it appears to be in grayscale.

About the Silligoose Creature
Silligeese are physical comedians, straight out of Old Hollywood. They love to make you laugh, and since they can't talk, they must rely on physicality to do it! A Silligoose will spend all of its spare time watching black and white slapstick comedy films — and you can tell. When a Silligoose first hatches, it will perform disappearing acts in its bowler hat. As it grows, it becomes more adept at tricks such as tap dancing, juggling bowling pins, and falling down. And it is never seen without its hat and cane.

They are great companions, too, though they love to be the star! Always trying to earn a laugh or a smile, a Silligoose will go to any lengths to make one happen.

Notes: The Silligoose is inspired by old physical /slapstick comedians, like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Laurel & Hardy. I drew it in grayscale as an homage to those black and white films, but if you think it would look better in color, by all means change it! The specific goose species it’s based on is the snow goose.

Also, I have it listed as an April Fool’s creature because it’s themed around comedy, but it doesn’t need to be from an April Fool's event! It could just be a regular old Cave monthly.

This would be a super fresh concept for the site, I don't think we have anything like it! You can definitely see the influences you mentioned reflected in the design and I love it 😃 It's so cute how the goose grows to fit into the hat, and that name is just perfection 😆 I think the black and white theme is great. It would be cool if that becomes a theme of the month where all the monthlies are black and white/old school in some way. I hope this gets made!

Thank you so much!!! Yes-- geese are my favorite animal, and I wasn't finding any creatures that were specifically geese. We have Honks, of course, but those are ducks. So I thought I'd combine my love of Old Hollywood with my love of geese and design the Silligoose!! Thanks Isis, and YESSS an old school month would be so cool!!

EDIT: apparently there's the Gansokoro, SOOOO CUTE!!!! still, as a certified Goose Lover™, I'm going to channel Ariel and say "I want more~~~!"

thank you!! And omg yes, though that was unintentional! I've been playing EggCave for eight years but I fear I am not caught up on all the creature descriptions. Maybe the Silligoose is a cousin of the Nibinne? Thanks so much for replying!!

I like the grayscale idea, almost makes me think of the site trivias where you have to identify a pixelated grayscale blob haha (ultimate april fools joke?)

THANK YOU SM!!!! I'm really into old physical comedy-- Donald O'Connor's performance of "Make 'Em Laugh" as Cosmo in Singin' in the Rain? PERFECTION!! And the black and white physical comedy films are so iconic!! I was trying to think of a goose creature that's funny, because I love the name Silligoose, and it just seemed Right™

oooo!!! maybe the final stage could be in color, to represent the passage of time in film technology? i'd had them all black and white as an homage to old hollywood silent films/physical comedy films like buster keaton, charlie chaplin, and laurel and hardy

Yeah! Maybe one is colour at the end, and the rest a B&W ( like you said)
Maybe the 1st stage is in the TV ( like the hat is displayed on a old - fashioned TV )
But that idea i'm not too sure of

I think it would be better as an April Fools day creature but if it can't be that, I hope it at least is an April Monthly or something
