what helps me when I'm uncertain is to click "My Recent Posts" near the top of Forums pages, and scroll through the contest's posts. I find it quicker/easier than looking through page by page of the contest (and avoids having everyone else's numbers floating around my head.)

(I just verified my own count for this one yesterday or the day before using this method ^^. And was happy... and surprised to see everything was in order / correct.)
