These Cave monthlies are now available, too. This is the Plia and Itea! Whoohoo! Find yours in the Cave for this month.
Last available in 2010, the legendary Doovoo and Macbot are available once again. Stock is EXTREMELY LIMITED because there are simply not many of these creatures in circulation. With stock so low, there's a chance not everybody who wants one will be able to get one.
Find them in the Cash Shop. Waves of new stock will be released throughout the next 24 hours.
The Galith is now available for 200 CC in the Cash Shop through the end of May, in case you couldn't get enough from the Cave. Beginning today, it's no longer available in the Cave.

@Ian, I'm confused - by population, that is the number of living creatures on the site, correct? Then when you answered on the 15th that there where "about 30" doovoos on Eggcave, is that not the population? Or are we going by something else? Just so it's made clear.

@Ian I would also like to know what you meant when you said there were "about 30" doovoos when the initial ReRelease Blog post stated that there would be a "Protect value: Cap on the number rereleased. A species population can only be doubled at most. For example, if there are 50

living creatures of a species that's going to be rereleased, a maximum of 100 could be rereleased and no more. Team Egg Cave may choose to set this lower to protect values. Once the limit is reached, the creature is "sold out" in the Cash Shop." but there are already 60 doovoos.

Also the macbot and doovoo's rarities have dived from before, they used to be the 2 rarest pets on the game, now they are at #838 & #776 respectively.. The macbot is actually rarer now, which I also don't understand since both are sold out and there were less doovoos originally??

There were 15 doovoo purchased this wave and 18 macbot, bringing us to a total from my and @prairie's counts of 62 macbot and 81 doovoo so far. Also @bone, you actually got the FIRST one from that wave, so way to go and that was even more helpful than imagined, thank you ❤️

@prairie @bunnyshadow prior to May 1, there were 37 Macbots on Egg Cave. prior to May 1, there were 35 Doovoos on Egg Cave. for this unvaulting, 35 of each species were available for purchase (35 Macbots and 35 Doovoos).
@prairie @bunnyshadow capping at doubling the population means that we could not release ANY MORE than 37 Macbots and 35 Doovoos on Egg Cave. 35 of each were released this cycle. (nowhere close to 60+ each.)

I'm disappointed with how many people think the issues we are raising is with traders ability to make a profit off of these rares and not: the site owner isn't being explicit with his rules and regulations of re-releasing especially since these 2 are most expensive ones so far...

@Ian sorry for all the tags, but I just wanted to clarify - are you saying 35 per wave, or total? In which case, have I miscounted? I've been doing so manually, but I'm happy to do so again, or if you have a better method for counting, I can check that!

@Ian I don't believe that is factually correct, since both @luv and @prairie manually counted the Doovoo/Macbot population to check then doublecheck the numbers.

To clarify, when I counted the first wave I got 40 doovoo and 22 macbot, I just manually confirmed @prairie's second wave count of 25 macbot and 23 doovoo, and my third wave count was, again, 15 doovoo and 18 macbot. I believe @prairie is recounting my numbers now.

@prairie - just saw that, thank you! I was counting quickly after moving last night, but a difference of 1 each seems fairly reasonable. As a heads up, third wave appears to start with @bone's macbot here.

@luv @ian, finished the 6pm count - totals ar 18 Doovoo and 15 Macbot. with 12am and 6pm alone, thats 59 Doovoo and 36 Macbots alone from the 12am + 6pm waves.

35*0.20 = 7 of each pet should have been released in each wave so only the first 7 of each wave are legitimate 😱

Nothing can be done about it now unfortunately since they’re already in existence. There is still time to tweak the final wave to where only 7 of each are released. Since the final wave releases more than all the other waves (I think) I assume the population number will reach

@Ian After making the sheets and doing the counting, there are currently 82 Doovoo and 61 Macbot as of the 3rd round. I understand nothing can be done at this point; but I wanted to bring this up so the system can be fixed and changes can be made.

Granted, this is the one time I think people would notice, since their population is so low; but still. Quite frankly, its nice people are getting their dream creatures; but I do think many buyers were expecting there to be less and that they were making a investment in trading.

I would say that after this fiasco, it would be both useful and neat if the actual population Numbers of creatures where displayed in creature archive pages. A counter of expected stock for re-releases would be cool too! For EX: 20/100, 40/100, 60/100 and then 100/100

Prairie summarized this all beautifully, now that we've finished the google sheet (and if anyone would like to see it, just let either of us know!) and seen the tallies, it seems like something must have happened. Ultimately, it doesn't mean the re-release was a bad idea -

- but when there was so much emphasis on populations only doubling, as well as multiple confirmations throughout from Ian that they would, I think it's alright to be confused and questioning of what happened, especially for people who feel like they were a bit misled.

I HUGELY support having actual numbers for creature populations, or at least stock numbers for future rereleases. I think that would hopefully prevent future oopses and give people a clear idea on just how many new creatures are unvaulted each time.

But if there's a glitch where the # programmed for release =/= the number actually released because of lag duplication then having release numbers posted wouldn't be helpful because those aren't guaranteed.

A little in awe of @prairie @luv 's dedication to figuring out the true numbers! Definitely curious what 'went wrong', especially since Ian seems to believe everything went as planned? Regardless, an actual-population counter on archive pages would be very nice!

It also doesn't seem like the 20/20/20/40% rules followed either becuase all the counts varied the first being the largest chunk. I counted a little by myself and seeing that many more were got than anticipated makes me think that maybe the drop wasn't following the % batch.

For anyone that was waiting, the final counts that both @prairie and I saw (which anyone can confirm if they'd like!) were 19 doovoo and 28 macbot, bringing the totals up to 101 doovoo and 89 macbot sold before everything was gone.

Well as the dust settles, overall I'm left feeling misled. Don't get me wrong having more of these creatures seems like a great idea, but when you're paying real money you can't change the rules and leave your users to figure it out. That's false advertising.

Hi, Thanks for news I don't intend to put any money into the game, but I really like Mechamotte. also I can't wait to find the new eggs in the cellar, I was unlucky yesterday and this morning.
Otherwise I found an egg of the egg at 200CC at the cash shop yesterday (I don't know if it's normal but as the last day was before yesterday I wanted to warn)

Not sure where my assumption of the Macbot and Doovoo will reach mid-700 went in this blogpost? I don’t remember deleting it. But I was right with my assumption, the Doovoo and Macbot would reach mid 700s. Didn’t expect the Doovoo to go into the low 700s though.

@jilltheplatypus I don’t think it happened on purpose, I think lag duplicated eggs past the cap, I really do believe it was supposed to be capped at 35 each. I did notice after I bought my first pet and refreshed the page waiting for the 1 minute timer to end, the status bars —

— seemed like they were glitching. In one refresh it would go to 12% and then one second later down to like 9% and then back up to 12% sold. So it sounds like lag caused glitches which is understandable considering how many people were going for eggs at the same time
