You write a letter (by hand), sent it to a moderator, and hope they'll write it in the forums for you in time. If they don't feel like it or don't like you, it can take months for your letter to get in the forums.

@wigglytuff I used to hang around one forum dedicated to Avatar: The Last Airbender. And there was another guy, who was a hardcore EggCaver at the time and even had the eggs in his signature (I think he quit a long time ago, his account was @tazar ) We used to fight quite a bit over certain topics.....
