It was said before that since it isn't an actual site all it did was copy a bit of your account and put a few of your creatures there so you could experiment. It isn't directly linked to your account, it's just a test.

@dragrawr Right now, everything on version 3 is separate from the real site, because its a testing site. So yes, your creatures can die but if a creature dies on the test site it will not die on this one.
