Col shrugged. "The rich side is the other side." He slid open the door and jumped out of the shuttle.
"Rich- because you actually prefer this side, don't you? At least, if your office and bedroom are anything to go by," Evie muttered.
Col aparently didn't hear.

"Sure you don't." Annabell laughed.
"Then again, I could be wrong. I'm not exactly "seasoned" with relationships, and one guy I liked turned out to be an agent and tried to kill me once, so, yeah." Annabell pouted a bit, folding her arms.

"This looks fun." Zach commented, stepping out of bus to stretch. "So we're orphans? Shouldn't be that hard. How many people here are ALREADY orphans, is what i'm wondering."

Blaine flinched. Turned out to be an agent and tried to kill her. "I didn't- I didn't try to kill her," he said in a low voice, then quickly exited the bus, ending up standing next to Col.
Four shot him a look and he moved to Raven's left.

"Orphan," Raven volunteered.
Blaine thought for a bit. "Orphan," he agreed, and they hi-fived unenthusiastically.

Oops. Annabell didn't mean to stir up any... bad memories for Blaine, and felt kind of bad for doing so. She needed to stop talking to people.
When Zach's question hit her ears, she felt like she had been punched in the stomach.
"I HOPE I'm not. But the government... I'm an Ex Agent... What if?" Annabell spoke out loud, not realizing it, and drifting off.
If she closed her eyes, she could barely remember their faces. Was that sad?

Zach forgot to answer his own question, but turned to face a ratty building, mulling over the fact that they had a Kitten and an Ex Kitten on their team.

"Ex. Right," Col scoffed, suddenly hostile. It was like the air was charged with needles. Move just a little bit and you'll get stabbed. It didn't help things when a car pulled up and the government guy got out. He walked a wide, wide circle around them then went into the building.
Four tapped his foot on the pavement impatiently.

Jade thought about family for a minute. Mom died in a tragic accident, Dad...is feeling eternal pain.
That pretty much sums it up.
"What are we suppose to be doing?" she whispered to nobody in particular.

Kaylie hated the word 'family'.
Her family didn't appreciate the full meaning of her life.
They said she went overboard with gymnastics, killing her social life, no friends, nothing but gymnastics.
Kaylie was really looking for support in her close-knit family about her gymnastics, but when she told them "My gymnastics come before my family."
No support, they all stared at her like she was an outcast, but her family went on with their lives, ignoring her best as they could, never looking at her, only letting her live under her parents' roof and setting her plate down on the table.

Annabell opened her mouth, then closed it again, chewing on the inside of her cheek with a hurt expression on her face. She decided to shut up now.

Zach laughed at Annabell's expense, not bothering to mention to Col that Annabell was truthful, then turned to face the building.
"Eh. I say let's go. I'm just going to collect dust standing here all day."
He brushed some imagnary dust off his shoulder as if to prove a point.
"Let's go?"

This was going to get old fast.
"Remember your place, 313370," Evie said quietly, but with a sharp edge.
Then the agent came back out and gave a sort of broken gesture which Col assumed meant everything was done. He managed somehow not to strangle the guy as they passed each other.
Col stepped into the orphanage.

Kaylie followed after Annabell but as she passed Jade, she shoved her with her shoulder.
"Jesus, why is there no vaccine against cruelty?" Jade shook her head and followed a little way off from Kaylie.


Kaylie also heard Zach humming.
"Dude. I've heard you humming all the way here. Stop being a GIRL and don't hum that song!" she snapped at last.

Jade heard that remark too, and tiptoed -no, wait- just stood over Kaylie and mouthed the word "mentally disturbed" to Zach.

Arianna was getting seriously ticked off. Being the quiet type of person, she couldn't stand it when others were being, well, annoying. Bored, she picked up a loose screw and spun it around her hand by manipulating the magnetic field. In the process, the hinge popped loose from a door, and flew towards her, causing the door to tilt inward at a strange angle. Whoops. Might need to work on that.

"NO messing with powers," Nine muttered under her breath in a tone that carried. "And shut the HELL up."
Col sighed and stuck his hands in his pockets.
A rather stern-looking old lady welcomed them and started explaining the dull routine of the orphanage, when to get up, meal times, bath times, sleeping arrangements...
He couldn't decide whether being on the other side of the building from Evie was a pro or a con. On one hand, he wouldn't have to put up with her being irritated at everyone all the time. On the other, at least it shut them up, if only temporarily, and SOME familiar company would have been nice.
Then they were being taken to their rooms, and they split up by gender.
He realized he was going to have to live with the obnoxious jerk and the kitten. He sighed again.

Annabell really didn't feel all that optimistic about her roomate choices.
Then again, she couldn't feel optimistic about anything at the moment, really. A strange sense of melachonly seemed to be in a cloud swarming around her, pushing her down.
Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, and told herself everything would get better soon.
Then she ran into a wall.
"Owwww." Annabell held her forehead, which now had a bump on it.
The person leading them to their rooms merly glanced at her, then continued walking.
'So much for that.' Annabell noted to herself.

Don't view this as my plot, kay? You can control anything but when we leave ^^ And the orphanage burning down/blowing up/collapsing/flooding XD (Although, an individual can leave anytime)

Raven sat down on her very lumpy, gray bed. At least, she noted with relief, they didn't have to SHARE.
"Funfunfun," she said in a falsely happy tone.
"And, school starts for you on Monday," the guide told them before she left.
Raven blinked. SCHOOL? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
"... What day of the week is it?" Evie asked slowly.

@taffy789 ... Depends how big a one 😸 *Imagines tenis ball-size meteor coming down and hitting Zach on the head. Scientist and psychologists swarm from all over, the first because of the meteor, the second because they believe aliens have messed with Zach's head and take him away to study.*

"Public.....school?" Jade looked up with a confused face from her ugly bed.
Well, this was getting better by the second.
Wonder how Monday will go down.
But, there was one upside to this. These people in school would be pure mortal, so Jade would easily read everyone's mind. Pleasing power that she could also overpower the Queen B**ch in school.

And the ambition returns.

Annabell chewed on the inside of her cheek again.
"It's either a Friday or a Saturday, if I remember right." she answered Evie before collapsing down on her own bed.
She stared at the ceiling.
Regular school, huh?
Normal people?
That would be... Fun? Intresting? A disaster waiting to happen?
Most likely all of the above.
Hopefully the mission wouldn't last that long, and they would be out of here before Monday, if they were lucky.
Because she was NOT looking forward to math after being out of practice for three years.

"Crud," Evie swore, collapsing onto the bed. "Well, everyone, we'll be back by the 31st." She then continued to curse Two in every language she knew under her breath.

Zach then proceeded to hold that same note intill the guide left, then continued for a long time after that, intill it was getting a bit hard to breath.
Frankly, Zach didn't even remember Math that much, and only really knew how to count cards.
