It has been many years since Eragon defeated Galbatorix. The most exciting event that happens is when they search for new riders. They take dragon eggs to every race and everyone eligible must touch it and see if you can become a rider, then you will be trained by the legendary Eragon and Saphira on Du Fells Skulblaka, an island dedicated entirely to training new riders. However, all is not well in Alagasia, rebels have been attacking, a shade lurks the land and rumors have been heard about a new band of Forsworn forming, planning to take over Alagasia like the dark king Galbatorix once did.Touch a dragon egg, become a rider and save Alagasia.NO MORE RIDERS. Saria waited in line for a turn at touching the egg, which was pretty special since it was the egg of Firnen and Saphira who saved the elbes many times. She knew she wouldn't be chosen but she had to touch the egg since it was a rule. She looked at all the elves all of them were hoping to be chosen and she wished even more that it would all be over.

Katniss watched the others get there eggs she had her eye on the smallest egg,it was a dark black,the others had many colors and were beautiful and big,but something compeled her that,THAT was her egg...A strange felling had overcome her when she first layed eyes on it...

When it was Katniss' turn she gentley layed the back of her hand on its hard shell,it was cold but after a moment became warm and there was a small crack in the middle...It started to split,there were peices of the egg that hit the wall as it shattered,a small entangled body fell out in a mass of limbs,at first Katniss began to totally FREAk OUT,she had been chosen?What in the heak should she do now?What was going to happen?Is there something she should know more of?...

Saria waited and looked down as the egg got warmed. She gasped as she felt a pain in her hand. She pulled her hand away and smiled as she saw the mark of the gedway insignia. She smiled and looked at the egg as it craced open. Inside there was a little dark green baby dragon with a sapphire stripe down its back. It looked at her with green eyes, she smiled and picked it up and walked away.

Katniss still didnt realize her hand was on it! When she yanked it away there was a burn feeling on her hand,when she looked at it there was a small spiral in the middlr of her hand and lines spreding to her fingertips,she was flabergasted at the sight
