It was Amdis's turn and he walked slowly up to the person holding out a purplish black egg. He reached out and placed his palm on the egg. Then he jumped back in disbelief when he felt a burning sensation on his hand. The egg began to shake and crack as Amdis stared at is amazed. A small black dragon poked it's head out. It had flecks of dark blue and purple and beautiful gleaming red eyes. Amdis walked up and lightly picked up his dragon. He was filled with energy and excitement because of the fact that he had been chosen to be a rider. "Now to give you a name," Amdis said to his dragon. "I think I would like to be named Shadis," the dragon said back to him telepathically. "Okay, Shadis then," Amdis said and he walked to a big tree to settle down.

Saria looked at her dragon thinking off names then thought 'How about Lily?' 'No' it replied. She went through this several times then thought 'Like Daisia, Sapphire, or emerald?' 'No' it said for the 7th time. 'Is No all you can say?' 'Yes.' 'Oh great a dragon with a sense of humor.' Then she thought 'wait your a boy aren't you?' 'Yes' it replied. 'OK how about Firan?' Her dragon snorted with satisfaction that was thhe name.

Nehlil sighed again, her day was starting to look even gloomier than ever. She could hear Orik's voice calling her down from beneath the staircase. No one knew where she was really, there were so many tunnels in the ancient palace that were uncharted, but Nehlil knew them all by memory. She headed downstairs though, just to make sure that she didn't get onto Orik's bad side.

Andrew watched the presentation quietly, his hand on Nimah's large-ish shoulder. It was a necessity for Elder Riders and their dragons to attend these ceremonies. Andrew moaned inwardly, hoping that the whole thing would be done with and the feast would come soon. Nimah purred, understanding him beyond words. Andrew looked at Nimah, smiling.
He didn't know who he'd be without her.

Orik banged his fist against the wall in annoynace and Nehlil quickened her step. In a rare moment of outward rebellion, she took another passage and arrived at the room first. She was met by strange looks at her improper dress. Inwardly, she cursed, wishing that she knew what the meeting was actually going to be about. Realizing that actually meeting Orik first would have been a good thing.

Nehlil scowled mentally when she saw Orik come in with a blazing look on his face and in his eyes. He was mad at her, and with good reason too. When he saw what she was wearing though, his anger flushed out, to be replaced by good humored cynicism.
<<You've certainly got a knack for breaking the rules>> he spoke to me through our strong mind like. I could've shut him out if I wanted, but I always liked knowing that Orik was there for me.

A couple of elves came out to the new Riders, and brought them before Nasuada. She was beautiful as ever, but a couple of wisps of gray hair started around her forehead.
Andrew was the only young human Rider in the posse, so Nasuada bekconed him over to explain the process to the new Riders. He wrote on his slate how they will be bonded by their silver mark on their hand that touched the dragon, and how they would be trained by their Masters in Du Weldenvarden to rule over all of Alagaesia and Surda.

Saria saw Arya taling to another elf and she ran over, "Hi Queen Arya." Arya looed at her then looked down and smiled, "So this is Firnen's little hatchling. Mind if you leave him with Firnen while we talk?" She asked. Saria shook her head and at that moment a large green dragon swooped down. 'Hello I am Firnen. Is this my hatchling?' Saria nodded and placed Firan on the ground. Firan ran over to Firnen and they walked away. Saria spoke with Arya and got the directions. Then she went to her hut and waited for Firan.

@hedwig68 Funny, I could have sworn the green dragon's name was Firnen, with two 'n's. Is it all right if my rider and dragon have been together a few years? They can help with the new elven riders.

Angular elven features, with slanting eyebrows and pointed ears. Like most elves, notably handsome.
Personality: Mischievous--derives a certain enjoyment from toying with people (mentally, physically or emotionally). However, he is good-natured overall, and would never intentionally hurt someone. Disposed to loneliness, he prefers to surround himself with people, and when there are no people around, pays close attention to the life of the plants and animals around him. Deceptively wise, despite his youthful mannerisms.

Ceren tapped on the door of Saria's hut with two knuckles, a smirk firmly planted across his face. The noise was soft, but certainly not tentative--almost as if he were reminding her that he were here, rather than alerting her to his presence. He was dressed in full "uniform" for the hatching ceremony, in a silvery-white tunic embroidered with silver thread--the closest the elves could come to matching the glorious sheen of Kvaya's scales. In clean, canvas-colored pants and pristine, polished boots, the elf was a sight to behold.

Close by, wrapped around the side of the hut, lay Kvaya. Her posture was relaxed as she lay against the ground, but her neck was craned so that she had a clear view of the doorway, and her eyes showed intrigue. The rider and dragon were quite the pair; one was always about as excited as the other, but they each expressed it entirely differently.

"Saria?" he called out, tilting his head to the side just so.
