Andrew smiled, and waved a bit to the pretty girl. He turned around, and saw the older elf. He wrote, "Kvetha."

Nimah arched her neck to see what was new. She took and interest to the dragon; <<Bjartskular, skulblaka. Kvetha.>>

Firan ran around the dragons happily. He had never seen so many dragons before. <<Greetings Brightscales>> he thought every time a new dragon appeared.

Saria glanced at all the riders and asked, "So are all if you going to the island to be trained by Eragon?"

Ceren took a moment to more closely examine each of the four. He had recognized Saria upon approaching, and the dwarven woman seemed familiar, but the human boy and girl were strangers. He dipped his head and offered them a more formal greeting, in the elven manner.

"So what is going on here?" he asked, using the human tongue for the sake of the girl. His words danced musically off his tongue, colored by an elven accent. The statement wasn't accusatory in the slightest; it was curious, jaunty even.

"Kvetha, skulblaka abr garjzla un kuldr,*" Kvaya replied smoothly, turning her dark eyes to the white dragon. "Eru ono abr Eragon Shur'tugal un Saphira Bjartskular?**" She found it odd that they had not yet met.

"Hello," Ceren replied, the simple word sounding entirely differently coming from his mouth. Suddenly, he seemed to notice that the little dark dragon hatchling belonged to her. He clapped his hands, a grin spreading over his face. "So there are new riders! It seems they are all hiding in the forest!" He fixed his glittering gaze on Sylvia, grinning expression shifting to something slightly more reserved.

"I've met more than a few along my way.", Sylvia replied to the elven boy. "May i ask what your name is?" Zaylia sniffed the ground and made a small cute roaring sound she stomped over to the elf boy and nudged his feet.

Ceren chuckled softly, amused by the whole situation. "Forgive me; I did not witness any hatchings, nor did I find any of the new riders lingering about the eggs. I worried, for a moment, that there were none to be found." He then swept into a bow, mimicking the method of introduction he had learned from humans. "Ceren, rider of Kvaya, son of Doruvos, Singer of Trees."

"Kvaya Argetblaka*," his dragon introduced in turn, though she did not bow. "Dragon of Ceren, daughter of Eryne."

As the dragon hatchling approached him, the elf's dazzling smile returned. "You are quite curious, are you not?" he asked the hatchling, bending down so that he could look into her eyes. From behind him, Kvaya seemed to inspect Sylvia in the same manner.

Ceren stared down at the young dragon for a moment, appearing to hesitate--young riders were often offended when someone handled their dragon without permission. Still, the dragon herself seemed to be asking him, and in this case the will of the dragon overrode the will of the rider. With a chuckle, he smoothly plucked the dragon from the ground, holding it in his arms like one would hold a baby, or perhaps a kitten. "Have you a name, young one?" he asked, hazel eyes glittering.

Kvaya averted her gaze at Sylvia's response. She then arched her neck to look over the shoulder of her rider, as eager as he was to get a better look at the hatchling.

Andrew watched the collection quietly.

*I am Thorn Brightscale's granddaughter.

Sylvia stood off to the side. And hesistantly took a few steps towards Ceren. She looked at Ceren's face, then Zaylia's big eyes. And said "She seems to like you." Sylvia was content, in no way jealous of all the attenion Zaylia was getting.

Zaylia felt Sylvia's emotions and said {Your handling this very well} Sylvia simply nodded in return. Zaylia butted Ceren's face and looked up to see his huge dragon, huge to the hatchling. Zaylia struggled in surprise but calmed down after a few seconds.

Zaylia's clear mind-voice said {Zaylia} Then she shut off her mind to eveybody but Sylvia, and Firin.

Andrew recoiled from Firan's yelling of food, and quietly looked at Niamh. Their thoughts mixed, each feeling the same.

"I am honored," he replied, sparing Sylvia a quick glance. As he did, the little dragon nudged its head against his face, in a gesture that was either affectionate or attention-seeking. Pleased with either intention, Ceren laughed, shifting his arm so that he could gently scratch the scales at the base of the hatchling's head--Kvaya had always seemed to like it.

He stood still as Zaylia struggled, willing to put her down again if she so wished. She seemed to calm down, however, and he was happy to continue holding her. "I apologize for frightening you," Kvaya said, but it seemed that her words went unheard. Feeling perhaps a bit intrusive, she withdrew her head from her rider's shoulder and turned to face the white dragon once more.

"Eka eddyr celobrai,*" she then replied to Niamh, dipping her head slightly though maintaining eye contact. A descendent of such a powerful figure certainly deserved her respect.

EDIT: @hedwig68 Your dragon is the only offspring of Saphira and Firnen, yes. But wouldn't it be possible for Saphira to have other offspring by different dragons? I don't remember it being said that dragons mate for life. Additionally, the elven way of life is greatly influenced by dragons, and elves don't believe in marriage or ceremonial commitment.

"Do all elves have a nice laugh?", Sylvia said.

Zaylia flinched as Ceren scratched a spot behind her head, she didnt like it very much and nipped Ceren's finger causing a tiny droplet of blood to fall.

Sylvia gasped and said,"Sorry!"

Andrew nodded, waving his hand. >>It is alright, just a little jolting. Do take care?<< He picked some berries, and used a spell to get rid of the poisons. Popping them into his mouth, he thoroughly enjoyed them. Andrew wrote, "Why is it that the poisonous berries are the most delicious?"

(Ceren seemed quite enamored with them.) "What business does Surda hold for you?" she inquired in the Ancient Language. "My mother and father are both of the older generation, freed from sleep after the fall of the Dark King. Their names you may not know." Oddly enough, she used the affectionate human terms of "mother" and "father" rather than referring to them as dam and sire.

"Yes," Ceren replied charmingly to Sylvia. The lighthearted comment had him chuckling again, up until the hatchling bit his finger. He winced just slightly, more startled than hurt. "No," he said hastily, "I am sorry. Forgive me, dragon, for displeasing you. Heill**," he added at the end. The tiny bite mark on his fingertip shimmered and then disappeared as the skin wove itself back together. "How may I compensate?" he asked, turning his eyes up to Sylvia after first asking Zaylia.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ceren noticed Andrew's message. A sly smirk crept onto his face. "Forbidden fruit, my friend," was all he had to say, with a knowing shake of the head.

Sylvia stared at Ceren's finger in amazement and said," Will i be able to learn how to do that?"

Zaylia simply jumped out of Ceren's arms ignoring his question and strutted back to Sylvia's legs.

Sylvia couldn't help but giggle at Zaylia's behaviour.

Niamh licked her nose, scales glimmering their truest beauty when the sun came out of the clouds. "Just the egg-hatching ceremonies. You never know, it's quite funny to watch a new Rider faint." She snorted, laughing as she recalled the memory. "Ah, a dragon of the Elders. I am honoured. May I ask, wild or Rider dragons?" She asked in the Ancient Language.

"That and much more," he replied rather mysteriously, nodding once to Sylvia. He stiffened slightly as Zaylia jumped from his arms, startled by her sudden change of heart. He then began to laugh again. Whether affectionate or surly, there was something about young dragons that made his heart sing. He found himself slightly amazed that Sylvia cared to join in.

The way Ceren paused again to nod in agreement to Andrew suggested that he, perhaps, had a specific incident in mind. Despite his suddenly serious expression, the playful glint in his eyes suggested a sense of humor about the whole ordeal.

Kvaya laughed as well, a subdued sort of twitter. She had never personally watched a new rider faint, as the elves were quite in control of themselves, but the mental image it stirred up was enough. "My father was wild," she replied, "though my mother had a rider. Elven--a woman, I believe. The two were slayed in Galbatorix's seige on Ilirea." Despite the gravity of her statement, she did not find it necessary to look away. Kvaya was steady in all things she did; Ceren flitted like a bird from one thought to the next, but she was of a patient and gradual nature.

Sylvia laughed some more, when Zaylia stuck her tongue out.

Zaylia said to Sylvia and Ceren through her mind. {I dont get this laughing} she said in an upsetting voice, which only made Sylvia lagh harder
