@bunnyshadow @jubjubloversboy is upset that his character was killed. I was kind of unspecific on the identity of the dead person, so I said that if he desperately wanted to come back into the roleplay, you could make the dead person some other character. I'm just trying not to step on anybody's toes. X3 And sorry about that, I guess I forgot to respond to that part.

Phoebe nodded just slightly. It wasn't a name she would have expected for him, but then again, he did seem like the rebellious type. Perhaps, underneath the grunge rock hair and multiple piercings, he was a Kenny. "I'm Phoebe," she responded, staring out toward the ocean.

As he addressed her again, she turned to face him, and her expression shifted slowly; her eyes cast downward, and her lips parted slightly, and she seemed nearly acquiescent. She took the shirt, consciously avoiding the sight of his bare chest, and hooked it over her elbow while she hiked her shirt up to expose the wound.

Beneath the caking blood, the wound was fairly clean. Bats have only one "thumb" at the ends of their wings, and it was with this appendage that she had been slashed. The cut was long but fairly shallow, and while parts had already begun to scab, her twisting and running had reopened it in several places. "Can you get the canteen out of my backpack?" she asked him. Her tone was distant as she tried to separate her pain from the injury.

He nodded his head and took her backpack. He unzipped it and took the canteen out, holding it out for her. "What attacked you?", he asked.

Phoebe took the canteen graciously. Pinning her shirt up with her elbow, she unscrewed the cap. "A bat," she said simply, "the size of a horse." With steady hands, she poured the wine out onto her side, and immediately winced. Her teeth gritted together as she restrained herself from crying out; the alcohol burned against the open wound. Mustering her strength, she dabbed the blood away with a section of her shirt that had not yet been soaked. By the end of the night, she mused bitterly, she'd look as if she'd come straight from a slasher film. Her hands wobbling slightly now, she poured another stream of wine onto the wound, and cleaned it more thoroughly. With the dried blood wiped away, she gripped the canteen in her teeth, took Kenny's shirt from her arm, and tied it tightly around her waist. With the knot secured, she applied pressure with her right hand and reclaimed the canteen with her left.

"No.", Sylvia said. She hugged her knees.

Kenny = O_O

He ran his hand through his hair, then said swiftly. "We should get some rest. Who knows what morning will bring." Seconds later, he let out a hollow laugh as he mulled over what Phoebe said. "I suppose it's the Gamemakers idea of a joke because if I remember correctly, you had a bat as an interview animal."

Phoebe nodded with a nearly blank expression. Her original plan for the day had been to stay up all night and hunt for the other supernaturals; however, she was tired, and wounded, and they had a better chance of finding food during the day. Besides, Kenny probably hadn't slept the afternoon away like she had, and he was now her partial responsibility. Rather than vocalize a response, she nodded again, though this time her expression held some conviction.

"Grey long-eared bats," she responded, partially surprised that he remembered what her interview animal was. Her voice carried an irritated tone; the gamemakers would think that kind of thing was funny. "But that [yeep] thing could have killed me." She trudged off into the forest, and then she heard a laugh. With a wave of her hand, she motioned for Kenny to follow her in a different direction, so they wouldn't run into the pale boy again. She wasn't keen on testing him, after he'd threatened them with death. "We should find a tree," she advised him.

Pepper listened to the boy and girl all night. Apparently they were attacked by bats. Thrilling. But, no one attacked someone who was alone, so he was relatively safe from the mutations.

Phoebe awoke to the sun filtering in through the trees. She yawned, and stretched, before shrinking back into a tight ball. Stretching out her side yielded crippling pain now that the wound had scabbed over.

The morning was stifling. Heat waves were visible, rippling like water off the ground. The air was heavy and humid, with oppressive density and little to no breeze. Animal activity hummed through the forest, practically vibrating within each tree and plant.

Moving carefully, Phoebe rolled to her side to look at Kenny. He was still asleep, resting peacefully on a large branch next to her own. She reached out and shook his shoulder gently, just enough to stir him. "It's morning," she announced. The wild edge to her voice had gone, and its controlled quality had regained dominance.

Phoebe stared down at Kenny for a moment. Her expression was unamused but otherwise unreadable. With a wistful sigh, she slung her backpack over her shoulder, and gingerly began to make her way down the tree.

The forest floor itself was cooler than the treetops were, due to shade from the canopy and the rising properties of heat. She took a moment to look and listen, searching for the sound of breathing or a heartbeat. There was a lot of interference noise from insects and birds, but she could be sure that there was nothing dangerous within the immediate area. With a wave of her hand, she motioned for Kenny to climb down as well.

First on her checklist was water. Despite the hollow, gnawing feeling that was growing in the pit of her stomach, she could survive a few more days without eating anything. Water was essential. "What do you know about the water here?" she asked of Kenny.

Kenny climbed down from the tree after Phoebe. He yawned and stretched. Still groggy, he said,"I saw a river the first day. Huge chunks of glaciers and ice shards were in it. It seemed to have come from the mountains."

Phoebe nodded an affirmative. Snow and ice were dependable water sources, and they were most likely cleaner than anything running through the rivers. "Let's head for the mountains," she said, searching for a clear path through the trees. The mountains were located somewhat near the supply pile, where she had fled from the bat creature. She didn't think it would take them more than an hour to find a clean patch of snow.

Kenny's lack of a shirt would cause a problem in the cold, she realized. One corner of her mouth tugged downward in the slightest of frowns. She would offer him his shirt back, but it was most likely too blood-soaked to wear.

"Before the others wake up," she urged. They could fix the problem with the shirt later; the only solution she could think of at the moment was to take one from another supernatural.

Phoebe set off into the forest, climbing carefully through the undergrowth. She glanced back at Kenny to make sure he was following before breaking into an easy jog. She would have run, but she was afraid that strenuous exercise might reopen her wound.

Her mind drifted back to the pale boy they'd encountered in the forest the night before. He was most likely still very close by. He posed a potential threat, she realized, but if they could somehow convince him to ally . . . perhaps a run-in with the main "pack" would cause him to change his mind. Until then, she kept a careful ear listening for another human presence in the forest.

Alex sighed and walked over to Sylvia and Jasper. She sat next to Sylvia and said, "Sylvia I know it hurts, it hurts me too but we have to move on. Joseph would have wanted one of us to win and we have to do that for him. I do know what thing about him though." Her voice was calm as it always was but it also had the slightest twinge of sadness to it. "He liked you a lot and wouldn't want to see you moping over him so stand up and let's get some water. Do it for him Sylvia, please."

Joseph's body began to move and he seemed to be breathing but Alex had dragged to a place where he couldn't be seen by anyone.

Joseph slowly stood up still clutching his stomach and went to find the others. He saw all three of them in what seemed to be a moping mood. They seemed to have their backs toward him so he walked over and sat next to Sylvia silently and said, "Why are you guys sad?"

Alex jumped her eyes wide as her brother appeared.
