***ENDED***

Hi everyone๐Ÿ˜Š @kollais and I are in charge of giving away @leopardclaws remaining creatures and then have their account deleted.

The creatures we're giving away are:
1. Kacki (fully grown, immortal)
2. Beweg (fully grown, immortal)
3. Bunthoff (fully grown, immortal)
4. Kitep (fully grown, immortal)
5. Jester (fully grown, mortal)
6. Runton (egg, mortal)

In order to choose their new owners, we're having a POETRY CONTEST. Each of the 6 best poems will get one of the corresponding creatures above (the best poem will get the first creature, the second best poem gets the second creature and so on). @kollais and I (@shadielle) will be choosing the best poems.

RULES/NOTES:
- The poem can be about anything you want, as long as it concerns Egg Cave (it can simply be invented, or about a creature or species, about places in Ark, about the cave, about a user, about trades and forums... about the Cash Shop Park (just kidding, this was kinda rantish xD)... but it's up to you to decide what to write about EC).
- Please don't post a 2 miles long poem, we'd like it short and effective.
- This contest will be up for 2 weeks (until 13 august).

EDIT: Please people don't send your poems via PM. I think it's fairer if everyone can read every poem here, so that you make sure the best 6 ones are actually chosen ๐Ÿ˜‰

@shadielle
Free verse (:
But one of those poems that are oddly strange..

Seasons (NO, I DID NOT COPY THIS! I'M NO CHEATER)

When the autumn leaves fall,
The Rosses wither.
When the Creatures of Ark disappear,
You know winter is almost here.

When the snow falls,
Treelar's branches break.
The Snolo's heart-less cold,
You know spring is in sights.

When the Ark Field's green grass shows,
And young Tasmsas appear.
When Rosses flourish once more,
You know summer is within walking distance.

When Mos sing,
And Little Arkian kids run and play.
When the day is warm,
Autumn will come.

The seasons will forever,
Continue in this cycle in Ark.
Forever until the world ends,
In ruins.

@shadielle
My poem rhymes, although not as good as shinyshiny's, I hope you enjoy it all the same. ๐Ÿ˜Š

"Spring is coming!" The Elge cries
'Spring is coming!" The Wiset sighs
Young Tasma start to appear
When Spring days are drawing near

Brownils awake from their long nap
All creatures all gather together, they clap
Hear the joyous sounds of their singing
Anything is possible when you are dreaming

Paradise, peace, this little world in EggCave
No guns, no fights, no bombs, no slaves
Happy creatures dance together
At ease and carefree forever.

@shaielle: After half an hour at 2AM here it is! Definintely not to win, but hopefully 3rd place ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sleeping Coven
In a time where moonlight caresses
the furthest branches of Ark's great forests,
sleeps a boundless cove of hatchlings.

Hallowed breathing, deep sighs and whispers abound
echo the innocence that lies untouched,
shielded from harm and thievery.

All but one mature creature lies resting
a nocturnal being by nature,
he observes, he protects.

For there are bright souls and pure hearts
that have yet to hatch, to experience,
the wonders that lie within Ark City.

@shadielle okay ill post it here

They came from different sides of ark
love was forbidden from the start
secretly they met last night in the dark
and at the break of dawn they part

Then again tomorrow they will journey
through the mountains and meadows
That are dense, overgrown and fern-y
He will bring her a dark red rose...

When dawn broke over the skyline
The two tasma's began to say goodbye
Their tails twined for one last time
As the sun rose over the rocky alpine

Nine months later they would meet again
Three perfect tasma cubs following their mother
She whispered their names," Berni, Barlow and Ben.
Theres two sisters and a handsome brother"

All the other creatures in Ark
Have heard the story at least once
Of two tasmas that snuck out so quietly at dark
And met for many seasons and months
The story is still passed along by the old yellow-breasted lark...

The 2012 Eggcave Olympic Games:

The Olympics are coming, The Olympics are here!
Cries the Olimpt, eyes with a tear.

The runtons are running, the finnish line is near, watch to see who's winning my dear!

The torch has been lit, it's time for the sprint, the olypics are ending: The results are pending: AND- Eggcave wins the gold!

@shadielle

All around this time of year
Creatures of Ark come near
To hear the words of elder dears
Of long ago times that are not feared

The tell of stories of long lost critters
Who no one has found in long winter bitters
Long legged creatures who snitter
They continue to hide so no one searches

They come out one by one
Paroxy, Brois, and Cetopia
Of all the critters ever released
I would say my favorite is the Pandai

*HAHA I am horrible at poems but i tried*

Tine

Pink, fuzzy crests,
Upon their little chests.
Dainty arms and legs.
What delicate-looking eggs.
Tails ended with an intricate heart,
What work of art!
Blue eyes that are wide and bold-
These lovely creatures hold!
With such beautiful angelic wings,
My, what gorgeous little things!
These all describe the wondeful Tine,
Which that I wish could soon be mine!

@shadielle
This is my poem. It's called "The Impossible Coconut". XD

It was a hot and sunny summer
And I was lying in Ark Beach,
Admiring a coconut
That was way out of my reach.

Soon in sight came a Battyrus,
It was flying up high.
To the East and to the West,
It searched far and wide.

What a curious creature,
What fine flying too!
I shall ask it to help me,
This is a task for two!

"Tell me young Battyrus
What are you looking for?
Assist me for this moment
And I will help you."

Not seeming to understand,
He proceeded to fly away
So I thought to myself:
"This isn't my lucky day."

And so it was a hot and sunny summer
And I was lying in Ark Beach,
Admiring a coconut
That was STILL out of my reach.

The Eggcave Foodchain

Her tail is flicking from side to side,
her body is tense,
her eyes are wide.

She hunches her hips
and squints at her prey--
an oblivious gideh,
whose cool eyes survey...

A serene little runton,
who nestles within
a flor's smooth petals,
which close in the din
of the various critters
that roam around ark,
all bubby and anxious
to fulfill their own parts.

And so, the sun sets
on these three who don't stray
from their spots on this fine,
warm summer's day,
and they each hold their breaths
for they think the same things--
who will strike first,
and who will be slain?
Who will survive
in the Eggcave foodchain?

@Shadielle @Kollais This sounds like fun. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'll write a poem about the creatures in my cove:

On the island of Ark,
At the end of the day,
A Terron flies in the dark,
In search of his prey.
A Skrulline is hunting,
And a Hallowolf plays.
These creatures love night,
And they sleep for most days.

But when the sun rises
And lights up the water,
Two Luckuars awake
With their curious daughter.
Four Olimpts,
All healthy and strong,
Pounce on the leaves
As they run along.

Chocobs are hopping,
Such sweet little bunnies!
And joining their frolic
Is a family of flunnies.
Brohus are lounging
While a Colatay flies solo;
The oil on his wings
Dampens the ground below.

A Solis flies by
In a flurry of flame;
This magnificant creature
Will NEVER be tame!
And last but not least,
What lies under the sea?
Splashing through the waves,
It's a Taigrin army!

Elges flying in the beautiful sky
Adarnas with their aerobic beauty up high
Terrons hooting in their own tree
Mos all there singing to me
Drems preening their wings
Wisets holding on their valuable things

Floicol full meadows with perfume like smells
Maskeys ringing their tinkly bells
Flovers giving luck to all who pass
Callas playing in one large mass
Tines playing with their friends
Luvleis caring their owners to no ends

Draquas giving out shocks and many a zap
Trenkas handing out sacks of sap
Chiyes hiding in the bushes of green
Halldrags tagging and causing trouble withought being seen
Moxels chasing each other?s many tails
Onnys hopping about with never a stopping gail

Cove to Cove
They strove and strove
To care for these beautiful animals
They never let any drop or fall
The love each of them and their unique ways
And this is what the elders say:

"Heart to Heart
Love with Love
Friend to Friend
Nice with Nice"

Okay, I have this short poem about my Colatay, ChocolateWings. I'm not sure if it's considered Egg Cave related, but whatever.
And yeah, it's kind of weird.

Wings of chocolate
Fly me away
Take me to see things
I don't see every day
Take me to lands
Unspoken, unknown
Take me to skies
Uncharted, unflown
But when the sun sets
And when the moon rises
When the night begins
Cease your surprises
Take to the skies
But no longer roam
Wings of chocolate
Take me home
