Dust (RP remake)

(Reposting this since the old topic died and I changed quite a few things as well.)

In this age, every child is gifted with the company of a soul animal at birth. Each soul animal is attached to the child with a magical link that keeps them together. Each soul animal can change into three different animals at will: one of land, one of air and one that is favorite animal of the child. The link is made of a poweful source called the Dust. This source is so powerful that just a gram can power a city for years. But if the Dust is removed, the link between the animal and child is broken, thus removing the animal from existence and leaving the child alone. The stronger the link is between the two is, lthe more Dust there is. The link becomes stronger the more the two trust each other. Once the child celebrates their 21th birthday, if the two don't trust each other enough, the animal disappears forever. Or else, they stay together until the end. Animals cannot die of age, they only die if the link is broken or if the child dies.

Lately, there have been series of kidnappings of children in the towns and cities. Many stories and rumors are passed around. People believe that orphanages are a part of the disappearing acts of children by giving away 'unwanted' children who have stayed too long to some hidden facility where they take the Dust by breaking the link between the child and animal. They then use the Dust as a source of power.

PS: This was inspired by the movie, "The Golden Compass". I tweeked it a little, but it's almost the same concept.

Gender: Female
Age: 16, but she'll be 17 really soon.
Personality: She is often rude and cold towards her enemies and she doesn't trust people easily. She can be very nice once you get to know her and she has a nice sense of humor. She is very stubborn and could argue with a wall for hours and she doesn't often think things through. She is smart but she doesn't use her head often so it doesn't matter. She is always sarcastic and loves music and nature. She also loves nature and being outside.
Looks: She is tall for her age standing at about 5'11". Her eyes are forest green with a hint of amber in them. She is always wearing a smile that means that she is up to something. She has messy pitch-black hair with crimson streaks in it and her hair is slightly spiky, and it comes to about her shoulders. She has a bang that covers half her left eye and she always seems to be brushing it aside so that she can see. She always wears black jeans, a black or dark blue t-shirt with a black leather jacket and combat boots.
History: She was 10 when her parents died from a plane crash. Her family had been rather wealthy but when their parents died, Alex's aunt and uncle got control of all their wealth. Alex began to spend more and more time out in the woods because her aunt and uncle were very strict and abiding to the rules, and they truly hated Bear. Alex was always seen near Jimmy, her youngest brother, though. After about 2 years, however, Alex and her four siblings were shipped off to an orphanage, all ending up in a different orphanage from one another.

Staff:

Ms. Olan: Sweet and kind and is respected by the children in the orphange. She takes care mostly of the younger kids in sector A, but sometimes goes to sector B. She has no Soul Animal. Brown gray-ish hair with pale blue eyes. She is 57.

Ms. Kantil: Takes care of the kids in sector B. Nice, but is a bit more bitter and serious than Ms. Olan. Her animal is named Fionna, which is very bitter and mean, can turn into a snake, Black Widow and raven. She often gives info to her master. Short curly red hair with brown eyes. Medium sized (5"6) and 32.

Ms. Everead: Nurse in the Hospital Wing. Very quiet and just wants the job done. Is usually very quick in her work and very mysterious too, often acting strangely, such as weeping and crying for no reason or being anxious or getting far too worried for small things. She mysteriously has no Soul Animal, which may be the reason she is so cold. Short blond hair, blue eyes, not too tall nor too short (5"5) and she is 26 years old.

Mr. Cadesi: One of the doctors in the Hospital Wing. Very friendly towards kids when they aren't waisting his time. Very tall (6"2) red-ish hair and amber eyes. Has a Soul Animal by the name of Lira which can turn into a small monkey, a golden retriever and a Wood Duck. He is 36 years old.

Mr. Uno: Takes care of Sector B with Ms. Kantil. Very strict and very disciplined. He is always lecturing kids about rules and such. Has an animal named Carl, who is quiet and barely talks, which can turn into a frog, goat and toucan. Bald, very robust and measures a solid 5"6 , 40 years old. Has brown eyes.

Meet Stephen Blaron, he's the director of the orphanage. He is very serious and makes sure things are always well done. He is nice around kids, but is very irritable. He is very strict when it comes to respect and he prefers that we call him Mr. Blaron. He has a Soul Animal name Cora, who can turn into a moray eel, a Northern Gannet and a bengal tiger. She is very kind and patient and is always of service to help others and her, urm, 'child'. Stephen is 37 years old, 6"1 and he has short brown hair with blue eyes. He often wears a suit and looks rather wealthy. He is also very concerned by the orphanage and will never hesitate to make the building better for the children as well as the staff.

Jess Alaron is the youngest personnel of the orphanage. She is only 24 years old and is Stephen's personal secretary as she often helps him and does things for him. She is also at the entrance of the orphanage and takes care of many adoptions. She had very long bright blonde hair that she keeps straight. She has dazzling green-blueish eyes and is 5"6. She is calm, a smiley person and a bit shy. Jess tends to be a bit overprotective and very naive. She is very respectful towards Stephen and can get protective if somebody insults him or tries to disturb him turning his two million calls he has every day. She has a Soul Animal named Vanessa. She can turn into a ferret, a trumpet swan and a Hyena. She is very motherly, but in the more bitter way, always saying to her child that she should be careful and not be stupid. Vanessa is very feisty and challenges others a lot, causing lots of trouble for her busy and shy child. She is also brutally honest.

B: This is the sector for older children from ages 12-18. It's a bit smaller than sector A. This will be the main place of action.

C: This is were all the other rooms are. Library, play room, kitchen, cafeteria, hospital wing, gardens, swimming pool... etc.

D: This is were the staff live. No children are allowed to go in there. Many people suspect it's where the children 'disappear'.

Personality: She is very kind to all people unless she senses that they might hurt Alex. She is overly protective of Alex and would do anything to keep her safe. She always stays close to Alex and never leaves her side. She can be as thick headed as Alex at times though and she doesn't listen to anyone but Alex, though sometimes she won't even listen to her.
Forms:
-Land: Arctic fox- She has a snowy white pelt and beautiful hazel eyes that are outlined with black. She has a fluffy white tail that wags like a dog's.
-Air: Hawk- She has deep red feathers and hazel eyes. Her wings are about a foot in a half from wing tip to wing tip and she has a sharp beak and talons.
Favorite: Black Lab- She has slick black fur and a strong build. Her eyes are hazel and when she wags her tail against a person's leg it feels like a weed whacked. She has sharp nails and teeth though she has a thing called soft mouth where she can pick object up without puncturing them. Her ears are velvety soft and she has a large wet black nose and a giant link tongue that's always hanging out of her mouth.
Specific looks: She always has beautiful hazel eyes and she has a scar along her back leg, though nobody but Bear and Alex know where she got it from.

Age: 15
Personality: She is very attached to her Soul Animal and never wants to leave him. She is kind to her friends and tends to be nice with them all the time and she dislikes fights and always tries to fix them, sometimes getting herself in trouble. She is very talkative, but is very quiet around adults. She is more comfortable around people older than her and her friends. Alicia tries to help everyone, even strangers but she can easily get offended and can get mad rather quickly, especially when others menace, intimidate or judge her or her friends, despite having a 'softer' personality, which can surprise many for they do not expect such a calm girl like her to become aggressive and sometimes explosive. She also tries and prove her ideas are right and loves to try and find explanations to silly little things with her quite scientific remarks, which can bug others at times.
Looks: She has long and wavy brown hair. She does not like cutting it, since she always likes wearing pony tails. She is tall (5"8) and slim with large hands and long fingers. She also has rather big feet. Her eyes are a sparkling blue.
History: She doesn't remember much from her childhood, but she recalls seeing her family photo on the newspaper. Apparently her house caught on fire and the family became very poor. She was still a baby at the time, so her parents left her at the orphanage. Arthur was her only comfort until she made friends.

Name: Dannick "Danny" Charel
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Personality: Persistent and determined. Filled with ideas, innovative, witty and fairly humorous. He's overflowing with imagination and has high hopes and expectations about the future. Quite the jumpy optimist, eager to go and explore... a typical journalist, one might say. However, he's slightly more than that. One thing's for sure he would have been more fitted to be a painter or a writer - his love for adventure, adrenaline and inspiration is enlightening. Passionate about life and living it eventfully. That is why he hates the fact that he has to sit around waiting for a chance of adventure... Tends to get himself in truble more frequently than any normal human being. Quite a clutz and when angered - very accident prone.
Looks: Plain and average-looking. Hardly considered amazingly handsome anyways... He enhances that by not taking proper care of his appearance. A mess of dark brown locks on his head, looking like a bird's nest. When brushed, it is revealed that he wears it in a bowl haircut but with all of his locks constantly ruffled or messily flopping around, it's hard to tell. He seldom gets it cut when it starts obscuring his vision too much or gets too tangled - usually his hair doesn't go past his neck. Pale skin contrasting to his hair color. He fits in the description 'cute'. Looks like a typical street rat, though he's not homeless, neither unemployed. He wears plain clothes - a shirt, baggy jeans, long trenchcoat and an aviator scarf. Constantly used to carry an old-fashioned camera and a journal with himself. Now... the most notable thing about him are the eyes. They're the only bright thing that strikes a person about him. They're a surreal, neon shade of bright blue, darkening to black at the edge and rimmed nearly white at the pupil, resembling a tiny universe.
History: Born in a quite poor family. Taught to persue his dreams by his mother and well disciplined by his father, he's quite the young man, though he rarely stands out. Recently orphaned and sent to The Orphanage.

Personality: Cheerful and enthusiastic about almost everything. Well... whenever he isn't sleeping. Quite the lazy animal, not that Dannick minds. And when he isn't sleepy, his attitude turns 180 degrees around. He becomes inquisitive, sticking his nose everywhere.
Forms:
=Land: Black mamba. Obsidian flakes on his back and white ones on his tummy. The tip of his tail is uncharacteristically a pure white.
=Air: Plain brown falcon. Contrastingly white beak and beady black eyes. A single white feather marks the edge of his left wing.
=Favourite: Dark brown ocelot. He has black obsidian eyes as in the rest of his forms and the tip of his ears are white.
Specific looks: A bit smaller than most ocelots. He's not full size in all three of his forms. He's always smaller.
Child: Dannick.
Other: The name Dezirae is a typical girl's name but Dannick named his animal without taking his gender in account. The name means a person who smiles to hide their pain. He finds it quite suitable as Dezirae is constantly happy in spite of the troubles he is faced with.

Alicia turned her head towards Clay. She looked around the room, realizing that she shared the room with 5 other people. Every room had around 6 single beds with a small drawer and a lap per person. "No... not really. I was very young when I came here." she sighed, looking at the ceiling.

NOTE:

If you are wondering in what 'time' we are in this RP, I would consider somewhere around the middle 1900's. Pretty much like the setting in the Golden Compass.

He gets a puzzled expression, looking around for something.

"Arx, where are you?"

The head of a very small monkey appears out of the sheets at the foot of Clay's bed.

"Clay, I know you're flirting, but could you do it a bit more quietly, please? I was asleep!"

"I was not! Anyway, Alicia, meet Arxaronn, Arx for short. He can be a bit of a jerk sometimes."

Arthur smiled and nodded, "Hey, is it me or are names starting with A popular at the moment? I mean, Alicia, Arthur and Arxaronn?"

Alicia chuckled and grabbed Arthur and hugged him, "Oh you."

"Agh... are you trying to kill me?!" Arthur laughed, trying to break free from the teenager's grasp.

"Ummm, Arthur," Arx says, "Clay here is an outcast, if you consider that. Let's make fun of him."

Arx disappears for a second and comes out of the sheets as a small green lizard with a long tail and a big head, sticking his long tongue out at Clay.

"Real mature, Arx."

Alicia smiled, "And I'm an outcast too in some way. I'm the only girl here!" she said, letting go of Arthur. He then turned into a Snow Leopard and licked Alicia cheek, "Hey!" she said, a bit startled.

Alicia chuckled at how the two talked to each other. Arthur stretched his long legs forward and yawned, "Whats to tell about ourselves? Theres honestly nothing much to tell." he said as he finished yawning.

"Arthur's right. I mean, we are just ordinary people at an orphanage."

Samantha, a fragile girl with an equally fragile seeming personality, looked down solemnly at Binx, who was curled up against her chest with gleaming yellow eyes. Binx stood up and stretched out on the bed, and at that same moment, Samantha stood up and looked at the others in the room.
With a sigh, the teenage girl watched Binx hop off the bed and walk over to the other Soul Animals "Hello Arthur, Arxaronn." She said with a nod of acknowledgement.
