Snow Days Contest:

Of Christmas' Past

Long ago when I was small
Mother would take us to the mall.
A muff, new mittens with matching stole,
to keep us warm on our winter stroll.

Goose-down coats with fur-lined boots
and for sledding, brand new snow-suits.
We made sculptures, angels and igloo forts
and played winter games of all sorts.

Snow-ball fights throughout the day
with our noses running while we play.
Hot chocolate steamin' in ceramic mugs,
topped with some of mom's hugs.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" our favorite tale,
Sending Christmas cards to Santa through the mail.
Adorning boxes with pretty paper and shiny bows,
filled with all the gifts for mom 'n dad, that we chose.

Christmas was always a joyous time,
when church bells played a merry chime.
All the family would come to call,
to gather 'round the dining hall.

Telling jokes and stories from the past,
of childhood memories that go so fast.
For in the blink of an eye we all grow up
and drink egg-nog from a dixie cup.

Whoa, I actually copied/paste your poem into a speaking program, and I was surprised to ear there are also rhymes! Its really nice to hear and I liked how you showed the pictures of your childhood as well ( ahah I also imagined you, chasing someone with a full charge of snowballs, the scene made me smile x3 ). Really good job! ❤️

Also, @brunosc was added to my personal feedlist (dying coves) so you can be sure I will feed his creatures daily as well. 😸

I found two more dying coves thanks to @aedia as well.
They're @muppets_harrypottercove and @muppetsxmascove (If you all can feed their mortals, the help would be really appreciated). Also their main, @muppet, needs some love. ❤️

Brushing Off Flakes
By: Marie Lily

Gentle snowflakes fluttering, chilly wind sputtering.
I reach out a hesitant hand, touching coldness.
Chills creep down my spine, awed by the sight.
Tingling with excitement, I take a step forward.
Powdered snow at my feet, white, soft as cotton.
Shrubs lightly frosted, trees wrapped in blankets.
Sky blurred by the snow, heavily falling down, down, down.
Lifting my face and staring up, lashes crystal covered.
I breath deeply in and out, the cold air fills my lungs.
Fingertips, nose, and lips, all numb and frozen.
The bitter cold bites, but I barely notice.
I smile in delight, alone in the empty street.
Delicate snowflakes descending, angels sent from Heaven.
I spread my arms out wide, twirling, spinning, dancing.
Losing balance, I fall, backwards onto the cool bed of snow.
I lay there still, staring in wonder above.
Creaky branches shifting, Eerie silence calming.
I close my eyes, listening to my rhythmic heartbeat.
All is still and silent, the world is frozen in time.
I stand up with a shake, brushing off flakes, troubles and worries.
I turn back and go inside, enveloped with sudden
warmth.

It made me feel cold ... I mean, in a good way! I felt like I was touching the snoflakes myself, and I almost feel a chill passing in my spine as well! I really like how your words transmit the physical sensations related to the snow. *w*

Christmas Spirit

Every year for the winter holidays I go with my family to skiing, but this year we didn't go...
This winter was different...
But this winter is better than others...
This year I spent time at home with my family (with my parents, 5 sisters and 2 broders) next to the warm fireplace and Christmas tree.
This year I really felt the spirit of the Christmas...
This Christmas I get the most beautiful gift I could wish!!!
I get a bunny!! ❤️ She has brown-white fur... She is very cuddly bunny...
I think that she bring that "warmth" in our home...
She bring that Christmas spirit and love among us!!
Now I know what is the most important...
The most important is love!!
I want that every winter holidays be just like that because this was my favorite winter holidays!! ❤️

First, I apologize for not being able to officially announce some news in our club for a while now.

I have been forced to take it easy due to a setback with my health but all is fine and just doing what is necessary to be able to be around and have fun with you all real soon.

Did everyone enjoy a loving and exciting Valentine's Day this year?

May you earn lots of chocolate boxes and take delight in the Event going on now around Egg Cave. 😉

Next, please understand it wasn't easy but had to think of the overall happiness and efficiency of the running of our club forum threads.

Tikimaki and Hay7199 have not been removed from the club! They are members here and should they come back to us, will be welcomed with open arms.
Their positions were split up to make it easier for all here.

In addition, there are other matters more pressing that led to the seeking of help and really needed aid.

Lastly, we have a pairing contest coming up in March and as always you have the option to not participate but for those who do, it will be well worth it. 😃

There have been some CS and Limited Edition Creatures and travels added to our club's account.

For right now, please refrain from any donations unless it is EC or travels. That is actually the only thing needed for the next coming months and thank you to all our donors. The list has been updated. ❤️

I have some technical things to do over the next few days for the club and release the newsletter to you all.

I love the Furrep! For some reason it just hits high on my cutest meter. The Ami is a beautiful creature and think the artist who created it should be very happy it will be sought after well after the event is over.
The travels is pretty and really adore the heart balloon, rose garden and pile of love cards from the event. The CS travels that I favor are the Art Gallery and the Cathedral one.
Everything released has its own style and beauty though and really happy for them being available this time of season.

I think the next 3 newsletters are going to be some real good ones and two of them will require club mods to help make two activities enjoyable. I will be creating the club mods forum thread after the event is over so we all can talk about things and brainstorm.
