I know Ian says "No" and I don't know if this topic has already been created but I think old creatures should be re-released.Reasons:1. The creature species are getting more and more and one day they might even reach 1,000 but there are some wonderful old ones which not everyone has.2. Many old creatures are really rare to find now even though they're really wanted. For example - Tine, Onny and many others.3. Especially when you have to go somewhere for a long time, you miss all the new creatures and later you find them in the trade center for an exchange of something you can't afford. So In my opinion old creatures should be re-released *only* several times a year or at least on holidays (Christmas, Easter, New Year, Halloween, etc.) for a short time. For example - one species could be found in the cave (or in the CC Shop again if it's a CC creature) and players could vote which creature should it be. Or they could be by the site creator's choice. And no, I don't say that new creatures should stop being released. That's my personal opinion. I'd like to see what you guys think about it.And I probably have some mistakes. Sorry about that xD

@eva_ That shouldn"t be THAT oftenand about ONE day release. If you saw 1 April joke you could imagine what happen- Thousands of dissappointed people who wasn"t lucky to ppick it from the Cave and people who would trade that creatures for the highest price-as there will be no reason to make price lower. There should be re-releases but maybe several times a year like Easter and Cristmas re-releases.Or maybe some special events that cause this.Voting is a goood idea too but it should be made official.Pings(Sorry)@frosted@bunnyshadow@karamel@meleva

@kirykoYup! I don't really care how often would it be, I just want this to happen. And I don't find the Onny joke funny, it was actually pretty disappointing. I've always wanted an Onny and I'm really mad now because I know it probably won't be re-released.Random pings (yeah, I'm sorry too):@bliss@purrclan@lunacharm1037@windchill@animal_9_namer

@eva_I'm sorry but I really think this a bad idea, One thing wrong with the idea is "OMG!! I HAVE AN ONNY, OMG, I WORKED SO SO HARD FOR THIS NOW I HAVE IT!".....Then the onny get re-released! people have worked hard to get what they have and thats half of the fun on this game. Thats also a reson that I quit another game I was playing, and I most likely will quit this if that happen's, and I know I won't pay for cc creatures that won't stay gone at the end of the month.
chapus • 9 April 2014 at 7:46 PM
@eva_ I'm sorry, but I'm all no for this one. It ruins the rarity and rare creatures will just because more common and it just ruins the fun of searching and working hard for a creature. Like, there are some people who have worked for weeks, months and even sometimes YEARS to finally get rare creatures they desire, and suddenly others just get them at the cave, for free...? It just seems unfair. And not EVERYBODY needs to have rare creatures, because if they are very common, people will forget to cherish when they finally get their hands on a rare creature...I'm sorry if my comment might seem harsh, but I'm not agreeing with this at all.
immortalraven • 9 April 2014 at 7:57 PM
Eeh probably won't happen but if it did I'd be fine. There are some old ones I like and would love ta see rereleased but people would complain and whine too much though they already do that. And I think I saw somewhere that Ian said he wasn't gonna rerelease anymore. Other sites have no problems with releasing older critters, their values usually stay around the same as the same critter isn't released to everyone again. Like they'll have a bunch released for like one day in an event but they will be different ones from what there has been retired. It's sure some spent awhile looking for rares though also on those sites people still look for a long time for the rares they want as most the time it is only one day a year that those are released. Also things on here are a little too much about values. A lot of newbies quit cause people bring em down and they can't get anything nice. Things are a little out of hand with values that I can admit. It is crazy how expensive some are. I have never been on a site so oriented on values and CC. And the EC currency is pretty crappy right now. Still is even with the SAR critters and travels. Things go for a TON more EC than usual. It's seriously crazy how much they go for when people do actually decide to trade for EC. Though there are some that are still reasonable. I don't see a real solution ta this though but I have ta say I and I know some others that think this just isn't as fun as it used to when people didn't ask for a TON for critters and it's not even just rares that people want a TON for o-0

Personally, I would like to see Macbots and Doovoos re-released as there are none of them which could ever be for trade, and they have the lowest rarities.But.. there is a point: Many people spent over $100 - $200 for their Macbot egg and if that is available for FREE in the CAVE, and they DON'T get a refund (they obviously won't) and they will feel like they were ripped off. An idea would be a VERY LARGE EC Price, or LARGE CC price in a shop, and that can have a limited number (first come, first serve) - not like 10,337 (I know that was a joke). Now relating to Onny, Tine and Nyms, they have rarities of 6, 12 and 12 respectively - so they aren't /that/ hard to find like those two I mentioned with rarities of 2.I'd partially agree with this, for the lowest rarities, but still, rarity becomes a point in increasing covetousness for a creature, and the hard work involved in obtaining it by spending time here, buying CC with real money, and retrading creatures for better ones, and finally trading them all in for a rare.
purrclan • 9 April 2014 at 9:49 PM
@eva_Did you know that Ian has actually said he will do nothing if a creature goes extinct? As in, zero left ever?
metaphor • 10 April 2014 at 1:45 AM
Once a month is rather much, but I definitely agree that re-releasing shouldn't have all the stigma it has. Really, it can be handled with care to ensure rarity, but people just don't see that side. They see either virtually unobtainable or completely junk.
vampire666 • 10 April 2014 at 3:53 AM
@eva_ - I agree with re-releasing. I don't care about the whole rarity and I just like to collect creatures and raise them. I don't like that so many players here are so against the idea just because they feel like they're getting ripped-off. Here's an idea: don't spend hundreds of dollars on pixels. 😋To add to your argument, a lot of times, many of the older creatures everyone wants are hoarded by the older players (like me and my flarens), are on accounts of people that have quit, or have died/are dying on accounts where people have quit.Perhaps releasing them in the Cave isn't the right idea though. Maybe a once a month raffle or something would better sate people.
metaphor • 10 April 2014 at 4:48 AM
@vampire666Heck, I do spend a shameful amount on pixels, and I don't care. 😋 Some creatures in my cove are rare; some are not. I don't think we should go flooding the market with Onnies or Tines or anything, but I think it's rather silly that people believe that if Macbots are not worth all three stages of tines, every monthly, the names Bob and Joe, and your soul, then they are worthless. You can release a limited batch of, say, Macbots in the Cash Shop for a day, and while there may be a slight dip in value while the supply is up, their demand will remain the same, resulting in stable worth. But I say this every time one of these threads pops up. Why do I always repeat myself lol
eva_ • 10 April 2014 at 5:56 AM
@emilianagerson@chapus2009@frosted@metaphorYou're actually right, I think once in a month is just too often xD I edited it - severel times in a year or on holidays and for a short time (one or two days). That way, they won't get really common. Also, CC creatures should still be bought with CC.Thanks for your opinions anyway 😊The problem is that many players just want way too much things for an old creature. I have always wanted a Yuki but I really can't have one because of this reason. @purrclan Yes, I do know that. Like I mentioned "I know Ian says No" but anyway... 😃@vampire666 The raffle idea isn't bad actually but I think it won't be really fair - some people may get something they don't like while other people could get a rare, really wanted creature.

@eva_Actually, several times in an year would still be too much. Once in a year would be appropriate. But still.. there was much drama and problems that arose when creatures were re-released in 2011, so I don't guess this would be appropriate as there are many who actually PAID as much as the current price to get their creature.

This is how I see it: Eggcave is just a game that should be played for fun. Pixels shouldn't be worth $100+ and everyone should be able to achieve what they want with some time and effort spent on this site. However, onnies, macbots, gobblers, doovoos and whatever else is in high demand these days are rare, and highly sought after for a reason. These creatures are like the ultimate dream cove achievement for every player. The people who have them now either bought them directly from the CSP and traded them for an insane amount of profit, or worked extremely hard to build their cove and searched tirelessly for weeks/months/years to finally trade for one. There are ways to ensure that when a creature is re-released, it wouldn't completely lose rarity/value, but if you take how hard some users worked into consideration and then imagine yourself as one of those people... It'd do more harm than good I think.Personally, I wouldn't mind a re-releases though. It'd definitely help bring these over inflated values down a notch. 😉
eva_ • 10 April 2014 at 10:37 AM
@frosted@hybridrainbowEh, you're right. But at least the creatures who weren't actually rare? I knew there would be a problem if creatures were re-released. I was just mad because I'll probably never have some creatures that I've really wanted. I got my Furrep with pure luck - a player was searching for a freeze and I had exactly 200 CC left from the Christmas Tree, so I froze her creature and she gave me a Furrep and a Mo :') Well, I guess we don't need this topic anymore xD There are enough reasons to not re-release creatures.

To base it on what other people spent. I have always stated never give more then your willing to give up. If you give more and want to whine about it later that is on you. A lot traded for their Macbots, Doovoos, etc when they were not so rare. Seen others before the rule was in effect trading off-site items for their Doovoos and other rares. Others gained theirs by being friends with the right people, etc. So it's not always about the "hard" work 😉A lot of the people who were mad simply were not on to get one. That is the crux of it. Did not see the kind and lovely gesture it was on Ian's part to even do it. This is the only site to not re-release any thing that is not seasonal. So many people whine and complained about it and that is why the economy is like it is here. It is often spoken about how many people were not happy but there was just as many that were happy. Yet many of those who complained also traded for them cheaply using the re-release to their advantage. Hypocrisy at it's finest 😊 Many of them quit even tho it was promised not to happen again. Many are leaving now due to how hard it is to trade here. So please those who are no longer playing or please those who are staying or joining? In the end it's always been stated by a Mod that Ian will not re-release. I saw his statement too. Just think it's not good for a site to limit itself. A very occasional re-release would be beneficial imo.

I don't understand what the big hype is about all these super rare creatures to be honest .-. I find them to be well, not my particular favorites, and I would not spend how much they are worth to get one. They aren't even on my wishlist.Re-releasing them wouldn't affect me because I wouldn't even try to get one x3 I'm really liking all the new creatures, and hey, someday they will probably be worth something to.Any Neopets players will know the utter chaos that it caused when the forgotten shore event came out and Draiks were deflating by the second. People were mad because their value was too little and their precious were not as valuable anymore. However, the other party was mad before the re-release because many considered it to be an unachievable goal. For me it was more sad, because of how huge the gap is between UCs and the (used to be) highest value pets, because I will probably never get my UC dream pet unless one goes UFA (which I don't see happening x3). But I wasn't so flippin upset that I felt I should make a stink about it, because for me, what happens happens, and I feel the creators of whatever site it may be work to hard to have to deal with complaining when one little thing doesn't go exactly the way you want it to go.The point I'm trying to make is that no matter what happens, there will always be someone who is dissatisfied, so why not just let whatever is going to happen happen? And if you don't like it, no one is forcing you to play the site. That's how I look at it.And heck, if you pay a billion dollars for a creature you always run the risk of it losing value in the future, because like I said, you really honestly never know what is going to happen. It's kind of like investing in the stock market. You may be willing to spend that much money, but if it loses value there's pretty much nothing you can do about it, and it happens. That's my input on the whole situation. Re-release would be nice, no re-release would be just as good. I'm very neutral, let the mods / Ian do what they think is best ^^
vampire666 • 10 April 2014 at 3:22 PM
@metaphor - I agree wholeheartedly. People ask a shameful amount of things for a creature they may not even like just because someone at some point bought it for five dollars. 😋@eva_ - Well, if someone gets a creature they don't want, then they trade it for something they DO want. Perhaps they can swap creatures with someone feeling similarly disappointed in what they received. But if everyone gets one ticket for a raffle/give-away, then it's completely fair. That way people with several millions of EC don't get a ton more tickets than someone who doesn't have all that EC.

I'm into quite acceptance for this.Support!Just hope that any rare frozen eggs don't get re-released. 😋
werewolf • 11 April 2014 at 6:30 AM
@eva_i think they should only re-release creatures if all of that species has died or is nearly extinct
mastergemma • 11 April 2014 at 6:50 AM
@eva_I would have to say..... no supportThe only creatures that I would allow for re-releases would be ones that are extinct, as in there are none alive or none on active accountsIf there would be suggestions it would have to be something like a raffle and only 3-7 a year
awkolicious • 14 April 2014 at 3:14 PM
@eva_ I guess rereleasing is neutral on me.To be honest if they rerelease, it lowers the rarity of many, many creatures, but it does give some of the new people a chance to fit in, if you know what I mean 😸So as for reason opinions:1. That I definitely agree with.2. I actually like the rarity thing, just makes the game fun in my opinion.3. YESSo neutral, but leaning more on yes then on no.

@eva_ I Support that it was really sad when the Onny was supposed to be re- released and then SIKE but i support this 😊
