A brown and white egg shook till it turned upside down. The creature desperately clawed at the egg until, finally a crack appeared. She banged the egg and the shell shattered. She was tired of banging and clawing so desperately. She closed her eyes, ready to sleep again.

She woke up. Now she felt refreshed. She looked at the pieces of her egg. "What are all these?" she wondered. Then she looked in front of her. She looked at the unfamiliar things she never saw before. Then she then remembered the sounds that she heard before, when she was in the egg. " Canashi, when will you come out of that egg?" said a voice. "That's my mama. My mama and papa." she thought. If only someone else told her where is this place. She would know everything.

{Nightfall}
As the Purita shuffled over to let Nightfall in, the young Trisk shook her fur dry and hopped inside, ignoring the sounds of rain all around her.
"It looks like we'll have to stay here for awhile." She remarked, clawing at the thick pieces of bark surrounding her.
"We'll need more space if we're both going to stay here for the night."
Nightfall crouched down and started to dig down into the soil.
"My name is Nightfall." She added, her ears pricked.

{Lorelai & Aiden}
In a nest not far from where Nightfall and Dreamflight was, two identical green and white eggs huddled together under the shelter of leaves. One egg had already created a peephole to look through, desperately batting the shell of the egg with it's small but sharp claws. The other, was as still as a rock. Finally, the first egg managed to put it's claw outside of the enclosed space, then emerged from the hole, which was much bigger than it once was.

"Hello?" The creature roared, curious of the scene around her. Nothing but thunder greeted her into this world.
"Mama? Is that you?"
There was no reply. The creature shuddered as she placed her tail in between her shaky miniature legs. There was nobody there except for her and the unhatched egg. The creature climbed up a small tree, where a Corlinn was perched up at and she sat on a branch that stretched strangely downwards.
"Uh.. Excuse me, but do you know where I am?" She asked, curling her tail around the edge of the branch. The Corlinn did nothing but took off into the sky, leaving the young critter alone.

/Mama... Where are you? Where are my siblings? What happened to Papa?/ she thought, bouncing off the branch. She was not crying, but she felt depressed inside, feeling alone in this great big world, until the other egg she was with rumbled. It gave a huge push, then a creature that looked exactly like her leaped out of the egg, his legs shaking.
/My brother!/

The creature sniffed the other, then smiled, satisfied.
/This is my brother. His eyes are green. Are my eyes green?/
When she looked back at her brother, she remembered her mother's words before all this chaos happened.
"All Clioneys stick together. When you all hatch out of your little eggs, promise me you'll never leave each other's sight."
The creature finally understood. She was a Clioney.

The creature's brother blinked, then sniffed the air.
"Lorelai? Is that you?"
/My name is Lorelai! Wow, what a good memory you have./ the creature thought.
"Yes." Lorelai replied, smiling.
"Where did Mama go?"
Hope faded from her eyes.
"She's gone. Same with the rest of us."
Thinking of her siblings made all the memories flood back into Lorelai's head.
"Aiden, is that right?"
The other creature nodded his head. "I scent something."

Aiden followed the scent, Lorelai trailing behind. The two of them stopped at the side of a puddle and before them was one of their siblings, who Lorelai suspected has hatched earlier than them. The Clioney had it's wings burnt, it's tail cut off and it's tongue lolled out of it's mouth in a pitch black colour.
"We're the only ones..."

"I'm Dreamflight," she replied, having someone around was allowing her to think. She flexed her claws out and started scraping the bark, following Nightfall. In the back of her mind she could hear a small voice, screaming something that she could not understand.

(Canashi)
"Canashi," she said. "That's my name." Then another voice echoed in her head. "Like this Conashin, yes. Good job kids! Next time, you'll learn how to dig like a real Canosh!" it said. "That's my papa." she thought. "I'm a Canosh. But who is Conashin?" She looked out again. She stepped out and felt drops of water from the sky. She ran across the puddles and into a bush. "I am not alone. There are others out there. They can tell me what had happened. I need to know. I need to find my family." Canashi told herself. Suddenly, she saw two white heads with green spots and two horns. "Ahh!" she shouted. She ran back into the cave, ready to scratch any one coming. "Whoa. I just saw others. They might not be friends though. I must be careful." she told herself. She shook herself, water splashing everywhere.

Grisallia bounded around each of the puddles, a sense of growing urgency in her chest. Rain streaked down the sides of her face and shattered on her horns, but she took no notice. She avoided the puddles because they were muddy and made her slip. When she started going around them instead of through them, she could instantly feel herself growing faster.

// Wow, I've improved! Now I need to find someone who can tell me where my parents are. Where...//

"ANYONE?!?!" called Grisallia, pausing for a breath. Her shout was muffled by the mists caused by the torrential rain. A chill crept up her spine, but not from the water pouring down the sky.
// Is the world ALWAYS like this? // she wondered, gazing around. Trees had been ripped from their roots, huge craters in the ground where the water had pooled into lakes of murky darkness told of the great battle that had taken place where she stood. There was a bloodstain near one of the rocks where she stood, half hidden by the bushes. The rain had nearly washed it off, but Grisallia could still the faint red stain.

Curiously, she made her way towards it, wading through a puddle of murky water. Her heart knew something was wrong, but her curiosity drove her forward.
Then, her right hoof stepped on something soft and wet. Something that stank of death and decay. Something that wept black blood.

Grisallia leapt back. A dead sorien lay at her feet, her wings spread out wide and literally torn to shreds. The terrified Grisal gagged in horror and disgust.

The sorien's head was nowhere in sight. The corpse lay in a pool of blood, and her stomach had been slit open so that the intestines lay strewn about. Grisallia felt the overpowering urge to run, to hide away and forget that she had ever seen the pitiful sight and smelt the blood of death. But something was calling to her, to stay and investigate.

Shivering, she rolled the corpse over to reveal a bright, green egg with the pattern of wings on each of it's sides. An egg...

// So THAT'S what the sorien was protecting... //

Grisallia nudged the egg with her snout. It was warm and alive, but it's parent was dead. She thought about what would happen to the chick inside if it were left out in the rain to die in the cold. Cautiously, she rolled the egg out of the mother sorien's reach and swore to protect the chick inside. Then a glint of light appeared in her mind. It was a relief, to know she wasn't the only one. Now she would get out of sight of the dead sorien, so when the egg DID hatch the baby sorien would not have to put up with the stress of seeing his dead mother.

"Don't worry. I'll look after you..."

"Nice to meet you, Dreamflight." Nightfall smiled, eyes shining.
/I knew I was not alone./
Nightfall kept digging until finally, she dug a small hole for her to sleep in. She collected some moss that were strangely on the bark of the tree and lined her hole.

{Lorelai}
"Did you hear that?"
Lorelai whipped around, catching a glimpse of a creature camouflaging in the bushes. Stealthily, Lorelai slipped through the trees, until she knew the creature was close, then leaped onto it.
"I got you! What did you do with my mother?" She threatened, unaware of the creature under her claws. Aiden followed behind her, his tail lashing.
"This is no threat, Lorelai. It's just a Canosh..."
/You're smart, Aiden!/ Lorelai thought, sheathing her claws and flapping her wings.
"Who are you? Are your parents dead too?"

{Marshmallow}
Marshmallow caught sight of a blue figure under the light. Curious, she walked up towards it, it's outlines becoming clearer. She knew she was not alone.
"Uh... Hello. My name is Marshmallow. My parents are dead and I don't know what to do..."

Dreamflight could hear how close she was to breaking through the wood and decided to stop. She turned to Nightfall and asked, "do you have any idea what happened?"

Splashnose looked up at the sky. /Does this end?\ she asked herself.

@ashlinnhi aw, that's sad. ☹️ @splashnose @ushafuse @cougar Since Grisallia hasn't met anyone yet, I'll say that Marshmellow has just seen her.

Grisallia jumped and spun around at the voice. The sorien egg was beside her, and she was prepared to turn around and run. That was when the colotay appeared.

"Uh... Hello. My name is Marshmallow. My parents are dead and I don't know what to do..." the colotay muttered tentively

Grisallia felt a pang of hope. She sprung towards the wolf-like creature, rolling the bright, green egg beside her.

"Oh my god! I thought that I was the last one alive here!" she exclaimed. "My name is Grisallia, and I am a Grisal.

She paused for a moment, staring the chocolate-coloured wolf up and down. Marshmallow seemed friendly enough, so Grisal kept on talking.

"I don't think your parents are dead. I'm sure we'll find them. Are there any others? I don't know where my parents either, but they must be SOMEWHERE..."

She stared around her, searching for a spark of blue. When she realised that no one else was around, her face fell and her ears drooped.

{Marshmallow}
"I guess they're gone... Something must've happened." Marshmallow muttered under her breath, her voice deep in sorrow. "There must be others."

Marshmallow looked around and smiled as she saw a small den, which she guessed was built before the tragedy happened.

"Let's take shelter over there, where we won't get drenched in the rain."

{Lorelai and Aiden}
"Let the Canosh go, Lorelai. There is no need to start a fight." Aiden scolded his sister, shoving her off of the Canosh with his claws. Lorelai loosened her grip on the creature and settled down in front of the Canosh.
"I'm Lorelai. This is my brother, Aiden. Who are you?"

{Nightfall}
Nightfall followed Dreamflight's gaze. The sky was dark grey, tinted a sickly green colour. She knew that meant no good.
"I don't know what happened... But when I saw my nest, my parents were gone."

"Canashi," she said cautiously. "And I dunno. But I believe that my family is out there, somewhere." "I guess they aren't dangerous. Especially Aiden. I shouldn't be ready to hurt them." she thought. "So, do you know what happened to this place?" she asked.

Grisallia secretly scolded herself for not seeing the cave earlier. "That's a relief! I haven't been dry since I hatched!!"

She followed Marshmellow towards the burrow, rolling the sorien egg beside her. As soon as she was inside, she gasped as waves of warm air washed over her. This was the first time she had ever been warm, and it was a beautiful feeling.

"I found this egg near some rocks." Grisallia said, pointing at the sorien egg. "I think it might be a male, a female's egg would be much smaller. What do you think we should name him?"

{Carrie}
"Hi Splashnose," Carrie said, a little excited to meet someone new. "I'm Carrie! Are you lost, like me?"
Carrie was desperate to have a companion - she didn't like the thought of being alone. Splashnose was a cat-like creature, just like her, ruby-coloured and looking exactly like... a ruby.
"What creature are you?" Carrie asked curiously.

{Hemca}
I stumbled over a large rock, and fell, grazing my left leg. Biting my teeth to stop from wincing, I tried to find any other creatures. I suddenly spotted a ruby tail and small purple wings, and started running towards them, hoping for some company. The rain somewhat blurred my vision, but I could still faintly make out the outline of two small creatures.
"Hello. Do you mind if I joined you?" I asked desperately, panting.

"Yeah, I think I am lost," Splashnose replied, "and I'm a Corunis." She looked at Carrie, feeling glad that she was with someone. She noticed Carrie looked a bit like a dragon, cat hybrid and found that really cool.
"Do you know what you are?" She asked, tilting her head.

I nodded. "I'm a Cumula!" I said proudly, not knowing how I knew how to say it. Then I noticed that another horse-like creature had just arrived in front of us. "Eh? You wanna come with us? Sure! We don't mind... yeah?" I glanced at Splashnose.

I beamed at our newcomer. He didn't really look like the social or chatty type, but that didn't stop me from wanting to be friends with him.
"So, what's your name?" I asked.

I glanced up at the two creatures that I had been "welcomed" by.
"My name is Hemca, and I am a Horsca. Your names?"
I was weary of the world around me - I could get hurt at any moment. So I had to be careful. Who knew whose side who was on?

"So, are we going to be looking for our parents?" I asked. Carrie shrugged then said, "I don't know. Hang on, I'm just gonna look around a bit, ok?"
Then she ran off.

{Carrie}
I half-skipped-half-flew about, trying to look for any other signs of life. I squinted at a foggy-looking area - it looked like a cave - and just caught a glimpse of an icy flame. Wait. Icy flame? How did that make sense? Never mind. I scampered into the cave, and saw that it was darker than I thought.
"He...llo?" My voice echoed through the walls. There was a dim light ahead, so I went towards it. Then I looked down and saw a grey/yellow/green egg. It had some sort of wing pattern on it...
I felt that the presence of the other creature was close by. Looking up, I saw an ice-dinosaur sort of creature.
"Oh, hello! Who are you?" I said brightly.

Enisby quickly stopped thinking. "Or I will have headache" he thought. He looked around and heard something from a bush nearby. He went to investigate. He looked in the bush but saw nothing. He went through the bush saw a very open space. He ran clumsily through the puddles and heard someone talking "WHO'S THAT?" He shouted loudly. He heard his echoes but heard nothing else. But he waited for a response.

Grisallia jumped and spun around at the strange voice. There, in the entrance of the cave she was sheltering in, perched a Cumula. The cat-like creature had large, batlike wings and big ears.

"No, who are YOU?" Grisallia asked, staring at the strange creature. She began to protectively move towards the Sorien Egg. The second time she glanced up at the Cumula, she noticed that her eyes had not moved from the flame on her tail.
// Of course, I must look as strange to her as she to me! She might be scared, I should introduce myself. //

Grisallia took a deep breath.

"My name is Grisallia, and I am a Grisal. My parents are missing, and I am lost. I found a Sorien egg under some bushes, and I suspect that there may be more. I do not believe my parents are dead, there is always a chance they will make it."

"I think mine are, too. But we could try to find them."

"Oh, hi Grisallia! I'm Carrie," I replied with a beam. She seemed, what was it... afraid. Then my eyes widened as the egg Grisallia had been protecting - a Sorien, she had called it - was beginning to crack.
"Look, it's cracking!" I exclaimed.
